  1. Here's the full path for installation. For some reason folks leave out the first bits, dopes like me have a difficult time locating the elusive 'Saved Games' folder. Put your user name in where I have the ****. And C : might be something else in your install, make sure you know at least that. C:\Users\****\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Missions\Campaigns\en
  2. Wow, this is great! Thanks!
  3. Haha funny, I use 7 seconds. No message ever seen.
  4. I have a couple questions for the guys who have fails with home-made missions on the Mariannas map. What is the speed of the Essex? What is the course of the Essex? What is the wind velocity? What is the direction the wind is blowing? That's all, Thanks!
  5. So, it does have sound, just very light and the instructor's voice is ear shattering when I get the vol up enough to hear the engine. But it is there to hear.
  6. I've got no internal engine sounds in cockpit. External's ok.
  7. Looks like fun! Racing around F1 tracks lol bitchin! I've flown the DCS Ratta, it's a special experience for sure. Just leave the wheels down for a near Gee Bee thrill. But I'm figuring the Gee Bee is less stable than the I-16 and the lore has it that it was very difficult to control. And I really just wanted to post the Gee Bee pic, it looks so cool!
  8. Will someone make this, it'd be fun to try to fly! I promise to buy it!
  9. I only see an option (in bundles) to purchase the whole package, anyone have a link to just the upgrade purchase? The webpage says this: Existing Flaming Cliffs 3 owners with F-15C, A-10A, Su-27, J-11, Su-33, Su-25, MiG-29, and MiG-29S, can upgrade to the new version for a early mover $9.99 USD fee, offering an affordable way to enjoy these great additions. This special offer will only be available until the end of July, Is it true?
  10. FC4 questions... II have FC3, do I need FC4 or just the new planes that have been adapted to FC? Does FC4 change the rest of the planes that were there all along or are they the same? Is the only difference between FC3 and FC4 the new plane additions?
  11. I looked down on FC because it wasn't the FF deal the other DCS mods are. Then a buddy hosted a scenario where guys had to fly Su 27s or MiG 29s. I picked the 29 thinking I could nail it in 10 minutes. A week and a half later and with a 116 page guidebook in hand I think I'm starting to get acquainted with it...I definitely underestimated the depth of sim I've been missing.
  12. I've used FFB since it came out in the Dinosaur days and I always expect it.
  13. 3 point is the way to go. Keep the tail in contact the entire run with constant back pressure on the stick. The aircraft will lift off when it gets enough speed. Ease the throttle forward in steps, letting the aircraft catch up speed wise till you increase the throttle more. It doesn't take long. When you feel the aircraft lift of the runway, ease the stick forward to avoid excessive climb attitude. Raise gear and fly away.
  14. And don't forget the tutorials, they are helpful and informative.
  15. Make it and Keep it Real. +1
  16. The phrase Spazzing Out indicates a man of true culture. I hope the problem gets fixed.
  17. I use the same pedals and I don't have the 'Slider' box checked...uncheck it and give it a whirl...oh I see that's Saburo's setup, well if your's has it try it unchecked!
  18. If I understand right I think you are referring to what is also known as the 'safety switch', the little yellow bit that covers the landing gear red 'up' button on the left panel in the cockpit.
  19. Stuka JU87-D with all the bells and whistles (and sirens). What fun! But so much not what's happening.
  20. Or run repair, maybe that'll help: open the cmd-window in the folder where dcs.exe is found type in dcs.exe - repair
  21. I've had the engine quit right after take off and I get a 'Engine overheated' message. I now open the cowl flaps just before take off and no more issue. Seems odd though, the temps don't show that high a reading. Also make sure your oil pressure is reading right...sometimes it will go back to a low pressure reading and not advance when you advance the throttle.
  22. Yes, lift the cover before you roll out, then when you get off the ground and hit your 'gear up' key, they will come up. Had the same problem, I just made lifting the cover part of my pre-flight checklist. Also learned that I don't need an external power supply for startup, I only need 3 of the 5 fuel pumps turned on and...when warming up the motor if I pull the throttle all the way back after a couple minutes of warmup, the oil pressure needle moves into the area it's supposed to be for operation. If I don't throttle back, it stays just under the threshold level and it takes several more minutes to achieve the right pressure. This plane kicks ass and is super fun! Groovy Tucker
