  1. I posted this earlier as well, but for some reason it got removed... whatever... I'm excited!
  2. It would be my favorite fighter jet, or aircraft, to fly in any sim.
  3. F-86F Release is Saturday, July 26th For some of you who haven't heard the news, the F-86F will be released this Saturday, the 26th. Although it wasn't before the 25th, which was my estimate, I'm happy to see it this month! https://www.facebook.com/eagle.dynamics/posts/10154451865850341
  4. Sorry I haven't heard of the last part. Someone from CastAR has been working with Oculus to make sure their VR and AR systems work the same way? Why would Oculus want to do that? And how would they work together with AR if Oculus doesn't have AR?
  5. I think someone will come up with a method to do that with the lua files right? Perhaps even upload a custom lua file for people to download. I certainly hope it will work though. CastAR shows a lot of potential for us flight simmers, and it would make it so much cheaper. Instead of buying expensive 3D monitors with additional displays for MFCD's etc. and having accessories like TrackIR, you can have a CastAR with cheap retro-reflective material and place it wherever you want. I really hope more people in the DCS community will look into CastAR, especially ED
  6. I'm also anxiously waiting. This is going to be a beauty of a plane to fly! I check it probably more than twice a day. Eagle Dynamics News page and the Official Updates forum section as my homepages and as bookmarks, so it tends to be the first thing I check when opening my browser
  7. Get a CastAR, and cut out two reflective surfaces and use those as screens.
  8. So I've really been looking closely at the CastAR lately, and it is really looking good. I'm hesitant to buy one though, as I'm confused how it will work with DCS using AR instead of VR. I can imagine people using CastAR to set up multiple reflective surfaces that will act as MFCD's and having one large strip to act as the outside view. The would be awesome I have to say. I'm just confused. Does anyone know how this will work? Will ED have to include CastAR support in their engine? How hard would that be (so how long will it take) and how realistic is it that this will happen? I understand that using VR with the clip on will probably be easier, as there already is Oculus Rift support. But how will AR work. Anyone who pledged or ordered a CastAR, what are you planning on doing with your CastAR when you get it? I'm just curious.
  9. I haven't been posting in this thread for a while, but I've been keeping an eye on this thread the whole time. I'm so psyched that we're so close! Thank you hegykc! (My birthday is two weeks away. Guess you'll be getting your printer when it's my birthday)
  10. Yeah I don't think 2.0.0 will be the next one, like OP said. I did remember something about F-86F coming along together with 1.2.9. So if 2.0.0 is really "soon", it could be 2 weeks away. But would they really release 1.2.9 and 2.0.0 so close to each other?
  11. Yes you can. Save the controls for each controller in the normal DCS to a location of your choice, with the "Save Profile As" button in the options page in the controls tab. Then open DCS Open Beta and import the file for all you controllers with the "Load Profile" button, also in the options page in the controls tab
  12. I realize you posted this a while ago, but I do think Metal2Mesh has a pretty good F-15E for Flight Simulator X, although I'm not a big fan of FSX for combat simulation.
  13. Well it's a decent amount of information since it's just been announced. More information than most flight simulation and DCS products, that's for sure. They have specifications and a clear design, just no release date
  14. Not sure if people already heard of this, but a company called "True Player Gear" is making another VR headset very similar to the design Oculus Rift is heading towards with their final design. Check it out here: http://www.trueplayergear.com/ I think it's called "Totem" as it says "Get your Totem ready". Not sure if that's an expression or just the name of the product. Since Oculus Rift is now owned by facebook, I will probably not go anywhere near Oculus Rift. I never liked facebook and how they go around with people's private information. It appears to be similar to Oculus Rift. Anyone else considering getting this instead of the Oculus Rift? And is there any information about whether DCS will support this as well?
  15. Ok thanks. The way they worded it seemed long and complicated to me. Was just not sure what it was
  16. My apologies, should have thought of including a link. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2000059#post2000059
  17. I'm not sure what the recent post about the bonus system means, or what it is all about. Do you guys? It would be great if someone could elaborate or clarify it with different wording, as I did not really get what they were saying. Edit: here is a link http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2000059#post2000059
  18. No need to apologize for anything. Thanks for your effort and hard work. Take your time and deliver the best hardware combat flight simulation has ever seen! Thanks again
  19. Ohh that sounds interesting. Thanks for the update. Can't wait.
  20. That's what I've been doing the whole time. Any other suggestions?
  21. I'm trying to figure out how to use the Trackclip pro upside down, since I just got a new headset. The thing is, I figured out I need to change the rotation of the camera to 180 degrees, and I then tried inverting everything apart from the z axis and the roll. Problem is, when for some reason when I want to lean down and go forward to look at cockpit instruments, it just doesn't and glitches out. It seems that trackir is not very responsive to this when upside down. I also noticed that when I rotate my head to look behind me in a dogfight, and I try to look behind my seat, it just shoves the head into the seat, as if I'm moving on the z axis. I tried mirroring everything and inverting, I just cannot find the right combination. Any help please!
  22. Hey guys! I just got my USB charger thing in the mail. Can anyone send me a toturial on how to shorten the TrackIR clip pro's USB cable? I have no idea how to do that. Thanks!
  23. I just got a new Astro A50 two weeks ago. Mods seemed WAY too difficult, especially when you don't live in the America's, it's hard to find the right equipment. That's one of the most annoying things of living in the Netherlands. All my family and friends that live in the states can easily purchase anything from amazon, I can't :( Thanks to eBay I was able to find one of these and order it from the UK. Just ordered it and I will report once I get it! Excited!
