  1. Okay. Would the mission file help? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  2. HARM/track recording Deleted for quoting. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  3. I am using OB with the latest patch. With all due respect, a short track isn’t going to solve the problem here. Clearly all the bugs I have been experiencing are due to longer play times. I’ve been trying every time to replicate a bug using the short method and can’t get it to show its ugly head. If you examine my posts here, the majority is due to long mission times. The question is how can this be fixed when the reporting method is flawed for such a bug? I’m sorry to make this sound negative, but my frustration is reaching limits. 4. This is tied to my previous bug post. For some reason the tracks are not recording some items like wind and more importantly player actions. In this track I attacked several SAMs and AAA as well as wingman. Then engaged mig23s. Radar went screwy and now I can't show ED the radar bug because the track file didn't correctly record the SAM engagement. Track shows I just blindly targeted a friendly radar station behind me while flying directly toward an enemy SA6. THAT'S NOT WHAT HAPPENED. Track recording should be +1hr long. Track file location. https://www.dropbox.com/s/oxosfag2jnx7q0e/radarsweep.trk?dl=0
  5. [NEED TRACK] Radar scan, b-sweep I checked that. I went through all the azimuth settings and same result, the last quarter or eighth was cut off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  6. Disregard the track. Pointless. For whatever reason the track doesn’t register me targeting an SA6 before my mig engagement. So you won’t even see what happened. I just get shot down. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  7. I ran into another radar scan problem. Can’t really figure out what caused it, but basically I engaged mig23s and after firing two AMRAAMs at them did I notice the b-sweep was broken. It seemed somehow to lose about the last 20 degrees on the left. I can try to lock in that area, but during regular RWS scan it won’t. Track to follow. 8. Confirmed. OB for me. Doesn’t work. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  9. I believe that is the plan. Reason why it hasn’t been implemented yet is due to the higher demand of getting other items working/working correctly. It will come. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  10. From what I understand the Offset is still a bit wonky. When you press it, the button says enabled, it does separate the overlapped contacts, but then over time will revert back to normal. However, the button will still say enabled after it automatically reverts to normal mode and will stay that way. Also noticed sometimes it will hide some radar contacts using offset as well. That part doesn’t seem complete to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  11. Yeah, I believe you’re right. He mentioned in one of his anecdotes for a buddy on his wing that ejected twice. He didn’t mention of him still flying. He said the first was in a combat situation and the second was during training. He left out the details of the first but the second had to do with him doing a go around and he ingested some birds. The engine flameout and he tried to get it started again with the jet pitched to best glide. He then elected to punch out since the engine wasn’t responding to start up. Once he did eject, he thinks the force of the ejection forced the nose down and allowed the engine to get increased airflow and then allowed it to start up. F-16 flew a good 30 miles without a seat in the jet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  12. Earlier this week I got the pleasure of talking with a pilot based at Luke AFB. He currently fly’s the F-35 as an instructor but had the majority of his experience in the F-16C/D. I got to ask him some fun questions like, which one is better, which one you like best, etc. Surprisingly, he thinks the F-16 is the better performer, but the F-35 will always win the fight. Can’t kill what you can’t see. Also he thinks the F-16 is more fun to fly as well. F-35 is more like an Airbus with lots of automation built in and highly integrated. F-16 not so much. He also shared some anecdotes of fallen comrades during training missions and ejections they did. Wow, that stuff is no joke. You are rolling the dice every time you punch out. DCS misses that portion of flying by a long shot. They seem to make it like a cheat death option. Anyways, thought some would like to read this and discuss. I was really surprised most of the time. He probably enjoyed it, too. Since he was an instructor. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  13. That’s weird. I tried posting tracks before and the file was always declined for size. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  14. Okay. I’ll get right on posting bugs now. So the track file doesn’t need to be posted on the forum? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  15. Ah okay. Is Dropbox free? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  16. DCS F-18 battery You do realize that would be a track 3+ hours long? Please share with us how we can post such a track. Seriously. Not even ED would provide an answer. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  17. From NATOPS Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  18. Greetings, I've looked in the manual :book:, I've searched here, I've searched Google. :helpsmilie:What exactly is the "Dead Zone" trigger condition? I'm trying to make friendly units advance via a flag on while utilizing an area trigger, and I want to make sure this is what it is meant to do. Thanks!
  19. BRU-33 release logic: 2 bombs dropping from same wing Okay. Wow. I was way off understanding this. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  20. Ah! That sounds correct. So setting QTY 2 MULT 2 it will drop a pair then drop another pair for a total of 4. QTY 3 MULT 2 drops three, then three, total six QTY 2 MULT 3 drops 2, drops 2, drops 2, total six Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  21. I got your message, and I thank you for the words. I believe if you seek to simulate such failures, you can set them up in the mission editor, however that is set for that particular mission. It’s not like PMDG that will simulate wear and tear over time. Granted, I think that would be neat to include, but most players don’t want that trouble of to over g an airframe or FCS fault puts you back X number of minutes of game play. Or if you over temp an engine, it will fail randomly. DCS is more meant for get up and shoot stuff. Not a procedure trainer. It was engineered to give players the option of how through they want to be in the game. As Wags calls it “eye candy”. I previously played BMS Falcon before and liked it mostly until the keybindings and lack of support really sent me on this side of the fence. To be honest, Falcon is the same way as DCS when it comes to procedures. But do hear me out, there is more to come here at DCS. They are just really slow sometimes when it comes to innovation. It appears soon we will have animated deck crew guiding us around. I’m really looking forward to that! PS Also they are starting on the F16 soon too. You will find me in that pit as well! 22. BRU-33 release logic: 2 bombs dropping from same wing So would another way to think of it is QTY = number of commanded consecutive releases, MULT = how many in each commanded release? Or do I have it backwards? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  23. Master Caution and throttle Home fuel isn’t the same as Bingo. Bingo fuel is the amount you can set on the IFEI? panel. You set a certain amount and once your total fuel goes below that the plane alerts you with a caution and a ‘Bingo!’ annunciation. Home Fuel is what the FPAS calculates that at your present fuel burn, your amount of fuel will be, I believe, below 2000lbs of your set home waypoint which is selected on the FPAS page. As you go in and out of afterburner it is expected that the Home Fuel will come on since your fuel rates go really high. I’m thinking this is what’s causing your grief since you mentioned the throttle. If you want a fix, see my other post above. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  24. F18c Startup The F18 is a high engineered advanced aircraft. Granted, I do see the point of the OP, but the forgiveness of the Hornet is made possible by the designers. From what I understand, there isn’t a requirement to do an FCS bit test. It says in NATOPS “IF no (FCS) reset”. Not “MUST do this every time”. Everything that could be done is just integrity checks when done by checklist in manuals. The critical things are obvious bonehead things. Canopy, wings, flaps, trim, INS, seat, etc. plus all flight planning items like bingo, weapons, FPAS, etc As far as fire tests, bits, etc. That’s purely just preventing a takeoff with a current malfunction. Those would come in handy after a repair. The problem isn’t the F18. What the OP wants is DCS to have the ability to simulate latent malfunctions for a ramp start. That would make use of all the starting and taxi checks. Worst one I can imagine is takeoff without a functioning arrestor hook. [emoji16] You wouldn’t discover that until next to the ship if not before leaving the deck! Even a malfunctioning speed brake could hamper ones efforts. LOL. I can see it now. In settings menu, what maintenance tech do you desire? Blue Angel SSGT Perfection <——-I——-> Lowell Mather from Nantucket? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  25. Quick fix for that is set home to a numbered waypoint that is not created. You won't get bothered anymore. I believe you have to be below a certain Mach for FPAS to allow you to make such a change.
