Mod is available. Go get it.

Noticed the area for the basket/probe to remain connected is significantly smaller than the other tanker aircraft. Is this correct? Makes refueling using the S-3 ridiculously difficult. Specially for the F14. Also noticed that if too far forward, the probe magically goes through the basket. Isn’t that incorrect? Shouldn’t the tanker just stop fueling and retract the basket? Seems like there are areas of improvement for refueling logic. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Really starting to get annoyed with all the crashing
Eagle7907 replied to MobiSev's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Well, I think I’m having the same problem as the OP now. What ever is causing it, I’m flying the cat in the PG map. After about 20-30 minutes it crashes without the option to send a crash log. What even more weird is it doesn’t do this flying the instant action missions for PG map. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro -

That’s strange. I haven’t had that happen yet. I have a 1070. Drivers up to date. I flew that campaign created by the original Janes F15E missions. The first one you take out choppers advancing on oil rigs. No problem there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro -
I know lots of us have different monitors and display capabilities. My request is for the labels function be designed to only include air contacts and only help in visual contact between 2-7 miles. It seems that is the hardest distance players have to tally bandits. Also, possibly make the labels only visible when the player could see the object. Not with x-ray vision. Ie. Labels popping up through canopy rails, floor, panels, etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I agree. That screech or whistle is F-14 trademark, but it seems to be overwhelming. Otherwise, it is an improvement. The fly by isn’t Hornet quality, but it’s an improvement. Well done! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I used the CMS hat half way up the stick on the left. Forward for retract, aft for extend, down for countermeasure/DLC Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Another trick that I learned, but probably most already know is use all the cues for wind drift. My brain one day said, hey stupid the wind is blowing this way, look at the smoke. Holy hand grenade! I had a wind sock this whole time! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Instant action bfm vs L-39 I did this one last night. Although the first kill was guns the second wasn’t. I’ve noticed the key for me was the AOA warning. Respect that AOA in the turns and you will eventually close the gap and make the kill. (Solid tone is approaching limit, beeping is at limit) The missile kill was completely out of panic. I avoided multiple missile shots from the second round and had enough of crapping my pants because I would acquire then lose sight of him in the turn, then find him sighting me for a missile. Rinse, repeat. To hell with it..... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Basic Fundamentals: F 14B Tomcat - Waypoints Explained ME
Eagle7907 replied to Pac-Man's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Thank you, thank you , thank you! I spent a good time trying to figure out the target waypoints before seeing your video. -
Source please?

You may be right. But that still doesn't mean ED cant make one that a player can fly. I don't think it has to simulate every system, plus there will be no way ED would allow nukes anyways. So nukes would be definitely out. Anyways, I'm not holding my breath. If it comes, I'll buy it. If not, I'll buy something else developed by ED.

In the OP's defense, I think it would still be a pretty good success developing. I recall seeing a post about posing the question developing a C-130 to fly. Not a gunship. Just a mover. The responses were surprisingly positive. I didn't think it would be a good idea, but the results were mostly positive. Also, who says the B-1 has to have cruise missiles loaded? That argument doesn't really hold water, especially since the server can limit any munitions on the map.

How do I use auto throttles? Umm, I think I understand what your meaning is, but it is misleading. It CAN be used for cruise in the Hornet. Flaps in Auto press ATC button, jet will hold current airspeed. See NATOPS manual and also every other manual made for DCS Hornet. However, it will not make speed changes automatically per a profile or pilot input by a knob. No where have I read ATC is used for approaches only for the Hornet. That was what Flyguy was asking about. Not the F-14. He was comparing the two and asking why they couldn’t use ATC for approaches as well as auto land. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Slow Acceleration issue? No. I’ve found that if you’re patient after pulling the paddle it normally disengages as it should. Since I discovered this I’ve never got the autopilot caution. Only if you quickly pull then quickly maneuver it will squawk at you. Not saying it’s fine the way it is. Just mentioning if you’re tired of the noises. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

The ATC at the moment is only implemented for cruise flight only. Yes, it can be used for Carrier approaches, but is not yet implemented. Also the coupled mode for the autopilot is not implemented yet. Still lots of work to be done on the Hornet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Unfortunately, I believe any AI wingman issues would purely be a bug for ED. Heatblur just makes the module to fly. Any AI programming or behavior is made by ED. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

From what I understand the A/G radar was delayed due to staff member leaving or some sort of logistics issue. That was mentioned sometime back last September or October I believe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Oh I believe it! That's got to take some pretty clever innovation to get J man to target for us. Great news. Thanks for the response. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

While on the topic, is it planned to have Jester manipulate the LANTERN? Pretty difficult for us lone wolves to attack using that and fly. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

Is the plan still to complete Harrier and Mirage before this project gets going again? Wondering because the news updates have changed like the seasons. All the news I get is the change logs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Same here. I’d really like to know as well. My experience has been if I don’t get the “lucky shot” with either SWs or guns in the merge, I’m dead in about 2 minutes because I simply can’t get the performance to out maneuver. If I don’t try to lead, I dance until I run out of gas. If I do try to lead, I get slow and either get shot down or lose control. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Stupid question about autothrottle I think it’s for landing only. I’m not entirely sure, but the jet has to be in landing configuration. (Gear down, landing flaps down) Edit from NATOPS: So, unless the gear is down, maybe the sim is detecting a slight throttle movement and is causing it to revert to boost. That’s my final answer.
