Lock-on can be found almost for free in those cheapsale bin's in game/music shops. But it's law that you don't find it when you need it and you do find it when you don't. :)

I have bought the x52 set and pedals from someone for 100 euro include postal costs. I had seen the magnet mod so I was betting it wouldn't be the worst stick to buy considering it came with pedals. Included in my package I found some velcro strips with one glue side. So I have cut out a small corner of that and used it to stick a magnet next to the sensor. On the bottom plastic case there was a residue of grease, I used that to grease the base centering plastic/metal. I put some hard paper between stick and spring, that's it. All done. A couple of minutes work and an amazing result. Thanks to the guys that came up with that. Only thing I could use some profiles, but it's confusing what to use. DCS profile or the saitek profile.

Thanks for the notes @Wags I think most flaming cliffs owner are pretty long-term committed and have purchased upgrades since lock-on. (a copy of lock-on minimum is still required with a purchase of FC3) I guess they own all the modules available :D I would only hope ED would grant AFM to FC3 to ensure a similar dogfight experience with the same standalone aircraft. I like to see it as the cherry on the pie, as it's the last flaming cliffs version :D (maybe it will increase sales too ^^) As for clickable cockpits, sure, there is the clear difference between flaming cliffs and DCS modules as always been communicated. Cheers !!

MSFFB2 stick - AMAZING - I hope the FM doesn't change
Cnuke replied to Vintovka's topic in DCS: UH-1H
I have received my ms ffb2 and I really have to get used to it ! I think I got mine in perfect condition , no wear and the FF is strong. I have read about swapping axis , and I have tried the little programs (simffb) to have force on the stick, but it cancels the (shaking force from p51). I tried bs1, bs2 (current dcs ) p51 and a10c. It will take a little time to understand what is suppose to be good and natural. But it is very exciting so far. You should understand that I have flown with the left hand thumb on a 360 controller and wasn't doing so bad :D Thats history now ^^ -
Basically the stick only has hit the market this week I think. So that's why you see no stocknumbers. Stick only : Hotas Warthog (Flightstick) Productcode2960738 or EAN code 3362932914334 http://www.amazon.com/Thrustmaster-HOTAS-Warthog-Flight-Stick-Pc/dp/B00CBVHJ00/ref=sr_1_19?ie=UTF8&qid=1368642198&sr=8-19&keywords=hotas+warthog Product code of Hotas warthog throttle and stick 2960720

Just a word of advice. Before purchasing the TM warthog throttle&joystick online, you now have to check carefully what is being offered. Because Thrustmaster is selling the joystick solo WITHOUT the throttle all over the world with another productcode. Ofcourse it continues to sell the normal combo throttle&joystick, so you have to make sure, it is the correct product. As online shops are not able to show you a correct picture and even a good description to clear things up. Even sales people don't believe there is a difference between the two. So be careful. About claims... I can't give advice on that :smilewink: I hope no one ran into ordering trouble so far!

Thrustmaster HOTAS input please!
Cnuke replied to Picksplitter's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Am I right to say that thrustmaster is selling the "flight stick" without the throttle from now on as well. But shops don't advertise with a proper picture and never warn that there is no throttle with the "flight stick" version. Be careful what you are ordering in any shop online! -
It looks great! It's really wonderful artwork with the sanddust/dirt xD Great idea, especially in the upcoming Nevada setting. And thank you for your work on other pits too!

I wonder if you have FC3. Please tell me you clean your monitor after each mission. :music_whistling: I disagree with you about this knob is being spot on. Compare it with all the little illumination areas on knobs and parts in the FC3 version of F15C or try to find another knob/part in this cockpit with any wear. To me it was never intended to be a "worn cockpit". I dont mind a little smudged black paint, but just not like this over the illumination area. Makes it look out of place in this FC3 cockpit.
-
I changed pic so you could have a better look at it. Don't upload your pic ok? :smilewink: Unfortunately the F15C cockpit is pretty sterile. Nothing worn or dirty and this black paint is not wear. It's just not really well 'shop'd' on top of that button. The black pixels over the illumination area makes it strange and out of place in this cockpit.

The "extra artwork" that people have bought in FC3, will be offered again to the same people but now with low fidelity?? I shouldn't have bought FC3, but rather have waited for a better module.

please allow to install BS2 upgrade without installing BS1
Cnuke replied to pocococo's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Thanks for mentioning that! I think it would be logical to not sell black shark 1 anymore. So there is no need for selling the upgrade as well. And over time maybe execute a solution. I'm all in for promoting DCS World and all it's future possibilities. But I can't stress enough that it's fantastic to experience these wonderful products! :pilotfly: -
please allow to install BS2 upgrade without installing BS1
Cnuke replied to pocococo's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Just a small detail to add: Older starforce with BS1 is not giving new activations, to go along with your BS2 upgrade. So next thing could happen: So when you have renewing activations on the BS2 upgrade license, You might not be able to install because you don't have any on BS1. A wish: Also I agree to merge licenses; Registered BS1 serials & BS 2 upgrade into a new serial BS 2. -
Not my favorite knob to look at :music_whistling: I wonder if it is overlooked ^^
-
I can't afford it now :( after getting all the other modules lately. :music_whistling:

Nice, at least you deliver some crumbs. :)

There is clearly a bug in the effects library somewhere that causes these massive fps drops. I thank this community for trying to fix it. It's awesome the support here. Meanwhile I have been editing and touching settings since the latest patch and not have been playing at all. Just because I cannot stand the fps slideshows on impacts, or even when there is action in the distance. I used to have perfectly smooth flight in 1.2.2, now it is not. It's unplayable for me or very below fps standards. I also feel a bit sorry for those that bought while the sale was on, and are now completely surprised by the massive fps drop on just firing the gun with the stang for example. Why don't we have a rescue patch yet? (Back to 1.2.2 regarding effects like trail, smoke, explosions. But keep the other fixes from 1.2.3). I really don't think that is the most difficult thing to do, before analyzing and fixing the bugged effects patch. Wich takes time, while the fps playability is below standards for most simmers I think. I'm a bit dissapointed if we just wait month after month, patch to patch with playability issues. A swift (take out the error) patch is the least thing we could expect or not? I guess we are close to the next patch, but I had respond to the current state of DCS. Thank you for reading.

Stumped by cpu/gpu fps drop mid flight
Cnuke replied to gavagai's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
The water is everywhere under the terrain/mountains I believe, just wondering if that was done on purpose for instrument calcs. If not, I call it lazy map design :) I really agree that there is a fps issue, wether it is the effects.dll or config settings that have been changed since last patch. If it is related to smoke/explosions/trails I would like to see an option to turn off these things in either a menu/config file. xD -
Worthwile to watch ^^
