  1. Will point the owner of the server to this thread. He has been busy with other things so was trying to get a heads up if this was a known issue. Thanks.
  2. Not seeing how this explains that we can connect to a fresh load of DCS without problems and then just because the server is empty for around 15 minutes or so, it stops allowing connections. Ping times are all fine and stable to the server, usually around 100 for myself. This issue atm is 100% repeatable on this server.
  3. A friends 2.5 beta server is having issues with it denying connection after it has been empty for around 15-20 minutes. It takes a fresh restart of DCS to get it going again. Once it has a fresh start, people can join and be on the server for several hours and everything is fine until everyone leaves. The error in the DCS log on the clients side is: 2018-03-17 14:16:24.751 INFO NET: client has started 2018-03-17 14:16:52.404 ERROR NET: Connection failed with code -10060 2018-03-17 14:16:52.406 INFO NET: client has stopped Any ideas what might be causing this? Thanks
  4. Timed it, not much "about" to it, its a solid 20 seconds. Test it yourself, visually...
  5. There are no indicators in the cockpit so they need to be timed, or take advantage of the exterior viewpoint. Coolant radiator takes a full 20 seconds to go from full closed to full open and vice versa and is the one of primary concern. Oil radiator is more reliable on auto in my experience so I have never timed it.
  6. Get on the Discord, will be happy to go over some tips with you. As far as the starts go, they are pretty much the faster the better if you can handle the speed.
  7. The Champ returns to defend his 2015 title!
  8. Hmm, this might be enough to bring me out of retirement. Time to dust the ol' bird off and see if she still has got it:
  9. Nice, someone finally coded it, back then I did it the hard way.. heheh
  10. H'lo, been awhile since I have been on, so, not sure what has changed, but in this link I describe what I knew of what the values do in the description file: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=163268 As far as what can be changed, basically any graphic that is in the aircraft's ZIP file, the trick is learning what the proper link code is. That is stored in the *.edm file and is not easily deciphered. That is how I found the links for the prop (with a hex editor). Others I found out through other custom skins. As far as the tires, pretty sure they are in the main body graphic. /Salute Shahdoh
  11. This has already been done, though the script may need updating now. Temp work around till they get everything working right. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2804305&postcount=1
  12. Not all a/c are capable of sustained knife edge flight either. Increase the speed, get the nose up higher as mentioned and put it on edge. The Mustang for instance will not hold it more then 5-10 seconds depending on entry airspeed, maybe a bit longer, been a while since I have done it.
  13. The new server, Aerobatics Online, is picking up where Virtual Aerobatics left off. The new admins wanted to take it in new directions that were not supported by Rock and Pman. Respecting their intellectual property, it has just been rebranded with the new name and soon web site. The main purpose of giving virtual pilots a safe place to just fly without threat of combat remains the primary focus of the new server. Shahdoh
  14. Been busy with other things, but in a couple weeks, will try to organize another one with a TS meeting (Lots of things to coordinate before actually starting).
  15. H'lo Tovivan, Couple ?s for ya. What part of the world are you connecting from? Server is near Montreal, Canada atm. What is the Name you use for MP? Like you, I do not think you are banned, that would not block you from seeing the server in the list. The Server is on version "1.5.4.55952.150 Update 4". There is nothing that we do with the VA server that would filter out the visibility of the server on the Master list for anyone. Shahdoh "VA Admin"
  16. Keep an eye out for the next time I run my WWII campaign. Right now, its a once a week affair, but there are bombers to escort and each side does their own mission planning. Plenty of fights happened at 15k+ in the last run. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=169782
  17. If you mean the Situational Awareness site vs the google docs stats. They are lists with different perspectives. Google docs list is simply highest kill count where SA site did it by a Victory/loss ratio.
  18. A snap roll is achieved by stalling out 1 wing before the other. At no time are ailerons utilized in a proper snap roll. At an appropriate speed for the a/c, pull back on the stick, then input rudder into the desired direction of the roll. The induced yaw will have the advancing wing generating significantly more lift and the other wing will stall out. The miss match in lift will roll the a/c around, no ailerons required. To stop the snap roll, neutralize the pull and a bit of opposite rudder initially. The trick is in the timing to stop the a/c at the desired attitude. Here, Kirby Chambliss describes the manuever, a bit over dramatic IMHO, but the results are the same. http://www.popularmechanics.com/adventure/sports/a6585/how-to-snap-roll-a-stunt-plane/
  19. Couldn't you set an in game trigger to "End Mission" and then let it cycle to the next available mission on a preset mission list? May not go directly to the one you want, but could set up the trigger in every mission and eventually cycle to the one you wanted. Maybe crude way of doing it, but it should work.
  20. Axis & Allies DCS World Style! Week 7 Status Report Update! Cease Fire! This reporter has just found out that both commanders have agreed to a cease fire. Though it seemed the Axis had a bit of an advantage, they are not willing to risk anymore resources against the tenacious Allies. The Allied maintenance crews had pulled off some miraculous efforts in getting their damaged aircraft combat ready even though their industrial centers are down to about 25% capacity, so they are also no longer willing to lose anymore lives. For now, this campaign is effectively over, with the Axis commander able to declare Victory by the narrowest of margins. Axis Pilots were able to score 30 aerial victories vs the Allies 7. Thier bombers were able to take out 75% of the Allied industrial centers and maintenance facilities. The Allies were able to rebuild much of their maintenance capability, but it was not enough to help them defend against the skilled Axis pilots. Leading Axis pilots: BlitzPuppet in a Bf109 credited with 6.1 kills and 7 probables in 12 Sorties and only had to bail out once. - Awarded the Iron Cross Wilzah in a FW-190 credited with 6 kills and 2 probables in only 5 sorties, never shot shot down. - Awarded the Iron Cross Commander Shadowfrost in the Bf109 with 5.83 kills and 4 probables in 10 sorties. He did have to bail out 4 times due to tenacious air defences. - Awarded the Iron Cross Leading Axis pilots: Commander Bulldog with 2 kills and 10 probables in 11 sorties, bailed out once and shot down 3 other times. SeaQuark with 1.5 kills and 2 probables in 4 sorties was shot down twice. Rooster with 1 kill, 2 probables bailed out twice and shot down 3 other times in 8 sorties. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1n-bjKnWoNERtpADwhGrw9JY0y9vVSCEnB8MqJWA9L8Y Though things have settled here for now, rumors afoot about trouble along the coast to the Southwest or maybe even in the plains to the Northwest.
  21. Thanks WC, Yeah, I have seen settings in the lua files that indicate this functionality, but when I make changes to them, nothing seems to change in game. The only thing I have been able to change has been the max range. I am hoping someone with a better understanding of the settings or knows of a specific radar "that you can get under" can help me sort this out. /Salute
  22. Trying to make a WWII style of radar and need help with how to set the vertical scan angles, if this is even possible. Thanks
  23. Is there a radar in DCS in which has a minimum altitude of detection(not including terrain masking). I am trying to create a custom radar site (WWII) and having troubles setting a minimum altitude of detection and looking for an example radar to work off of. Looking to be able to set the vertical range angles, top and bottom. Thank you
  24. Looks like in this case, since he intends to fly from the server machine, yes, he needs the modules.
  25. Past couple days we have been seeing an increase in server crashes due to the "Access Violation" error message on the Virtual Aerobatic server. I know ED is aware of the issue. Also hoping they find a fix soon.
