  1. I do have a question about the "Collapse Meter" data. I assume a higher number is better? Less in trouble? The colors used are what makes it confusing. In the US at least, green is usually the "safe" zone, yellow is "caution" and red is "trouble".
  2. Really awesome data analysis, Thanks Flankerator!
  3. I think it's just the pilot scaling, the 109 is a pretty small a/c. I stand 6 ft tall and was able to look into the cockpit while still standing on the ground. It was in a museum with many other WWII fighters and was really surprised to see the size difference in person.
  4. I will be available and have a test campaign mission up and running again today,July 30, at 1800 UTC to try and set up teams and to answer questions about the campaign. Remember, we can not officially start till teams are set, leaders picked and missions created, Remember, each side designs their own mission and plans what they want to do. Be sure to have the Master Campaign mod (JSGME ready) installed so you can see the B17, Ju88 and WWII ground vehicles. https://www.dropbox.com/s/inzl1gcp31o75l1/Shahdoh%27s%20WWII%20Campaign-%20Master%20Mod.rar?dl=0 We will meet on a private TS at address: 73.24.143.155 See you there! We will be on the latest version: 1.5.4.55169
  5. Saved games area is: C:\Users\<windows login name>\Saved Games\<DCS install name>\Liveries\<aircraft name>\<skin folder>
  6. There have been some server stability issues with this latest version we are trying to work out. 1 of them seems to be with cargo which we have removed again. Right now our biggest issue is with the "Access Violation" error that drops the server. This has only happens on the server once or twice per day though. I know a good number of clients are getting dropped more often then that and many of them think the server restarted when in fact it has not. Hopefully ED can clean up whats wrong with the current version soon.
  7. The dropbox link must have changed due to an update or something. I normally just hand it out to those that need. The server is only up for the events which are on Saturdays. Time its up depends on which time frame you are looking to join. See post #17: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2837704&postcount=17 Check your PM for new Dropbox link for the mod. The US timed campaign is going into its 6th week and may be in its final moments, the number of resources for both sides are dwindling quickly. The Euro timeframe one has been slow to build interest, especially with the release of the F5. I can also be found on the Virtual Aerobatic Teamspeak if you have any other questions about the campaign.
  8. Here is the server log from the Virtual Aerobatics server last time we had cargo in the mission. Does not seem to show a whole lot, but you can see the cargo being assigned repeatedly. Also notice the connect/disconnect messages. For a good while you can see people connect and then disconnect much later. But at a certain point, everyone who connects is very shortly thereafter disconnected. Since we have removed the cargo, I have not experienced a crash while trying to connect to the VA. Server has crashed a couple times due to the "Access Violation" issue though. Hope this helps. dcs - Cargo issues-26 July 2016.rar
  9. Well, the bogey dope would allow it to track to the nearest singular target. The info returned is already basically just that, but towards a group instead of singular target. Regarding a singular script, I think the WWII need is so small at this point, no need to clutter up the script to try and do it all, but if he wants to, that's up to him of course.
  10. Yeah, that's just it, The client can't choose the bort number, so effectively, (even though its the same skin with different bort numbers/decals) it still takes up a specific slot for each different bort number, it might as well be a different skin as far as the client is concerned. More allowances and customizations allowed to create individual skins compared to the bort number customization, with it being limited and more difficult to deal with. It would be awesome if they ever changed the aircraft selection screen to allow you to choose skin, airport, loadout, etc... all before climbing into the aircraft. Maybe someday... but for now, its mission editor controlled.
  11. I think this may (at least in part) be related to Cargo for the helicopters. On the Virtual Aerobatic server we restored the cargo to the mission with the patch notes saying the prior crash bug was fixed. Initially it seemed to be working, I now believe the bug is still there but working differently. (Helicopter crashing after having selected a cargo, but before picking it up). What we are seeing now, the server no longer dumps clients out when it happens, instead, new clients are no longer able to connect to the server until the server restarts. We have since removed the cargo from the mission and will monitor to see if the connection issue still occurs.
  12. Just a matter of where the connection points are on the wing tip tank. Could be set so the missile rails clip into the tank, effectively hiding them.
  13. If you are just into the looks of it to recreate the Turkish Stars version, that would probably be fairly easy for a modder. Fuel transfer probably wouldn't happen though.
  14. Hope you don't mind, I took the liberty of taking your script and modifying it a bit to work as a WWII early warning radar. Basically dumbed down the report to only give a generic group size(singular a/c are not reported), only range, bearing and a rough altitude (low / med / high) will be reported. Recommend turning off the ability for bogey dope. The current report will direct you to which ever group you wish. I did this to fit into my WWII campaign that I run. I was using Fog of War before and this will allow me to turn that off. Full credit to you is in the code with just a mention of me having made the WWII modification. Thank you for the great code! 15. That would apply to sound outside the aircraft. Vibrations causing noise coming through the airframe and other noises in the cockpit would not be affected.
  16. Axis & Allies DCS World Style! Week 5 Status Report Saturday, bloody Saturday! The war has been going on now for a bit and the action continues to intensify. The Allies started off with another morning attack, trying to duplicate their success with the triple wave attack. The Axis fighters were ready for them this time and tore into the bombers, disrupting the formations. Only two bombers were shot down, but it rattled the bomber crews enough that only light damage was done to some aircraft still on the ground. Allied bomber crews did their best to defend and were able to shoot down a couple of the enemy fighters. Allied fighters also did some light damage in defense of the bombers as well. Later in the day, it truly got brutal as the Axis went in with their midday attack. Though the Axis bombers were escorted by a good number of fighters, the allies were able to slip through and deliver heavy damage to one group of axis bombers. A second group was able to slip by undetected and did heavy damage to the allied airfield. This cost the allied fighters dearly as the axis fighters tore into them and though maybe a bit late, cleared the skies of the allied fighters for the day. On a side note, Axis leadership has given the Iron Cross to Commander ShadowFrost for being the first to reach 5 confirmed kills. This has been the bloodiest day of air to air combat this campaign has seen to date. For both sides, 14 aircraft confirmed destroyed and almost 2 dozen damaged. Though it looks like the industrial centers were spared any more damage this day, the Allied maintenance crews are again scrambling to recover from another attack. At this rate, can this war really go on much longer? We shall see…... https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1n-bjKnWoNERtpADwhGrw9JY0y9vVSCEnB8MqJWA9L8Y/edit#gid=0 Stay tuned for media coverage..
  17. This is the same as above. Do you have anything that adds to the in game inventory of items? static objects? vehicles? aircraft? They modify the manifest file, making it invalid for the integrity check. Remove the mod that does this for any IC server.
  18. You could also place skins in the Saved games area: C:\Users\<windows login name here>\saved games\DCS\Liveries\F-5E-3 You will need to create the liveries and specific aircraft folder name, but keeps it out of the standard install location. ED is working towards moving all user created data to this area, good to get a head start on it...
  19. Nods, and I am not saying the 1 life is the only way to do it. It's just 1 option I have chosen for this type of campaign. This also obviously does not work for the 24/7 server. Server side options to restrict respawn times, team switching and the like would be a great feature and help those that can not do it via lua scripting. Again, still falls back on the server/mission designer in how they want to motivate the player in which options (whether provided by ED as options or lua scripting) they choose to implement, that fits what they are trying to accomplish with that mission. EDIT: and no, I have no AI fighters in the mission, though the bomber defense can ruin a pilot's day
  20. For my campaign, a kill is only registered for the opposing side if the a/c is actually destroyed or lands to far away from friendly territory (25 miles from home airfield basically). Kills can also be shared with other pilots. If a pilot damages another a/c, it is logged as a "probable" until it is confirmed destroyed. So, if a pilot gets damaged and is able to land his a/c within the appropriate recovery area, he saves his a/c, the pilot that caused the damage will still get credit with a "Probable", but the a/c is still in play needing repair before it can be flown again. Respawns are only allowed in the 1st 10 minutes of play to allow for disconnects, ground loops or any other initial issues with getting in the air. But after that, its 1 life only, no landing to repair/respawn/replane. Needing to save the a/c and also to keep flying encourages pilots to be more careful in their choices (usually... heheh). All good stuff, but realized we are getting off target on the thread. Definitely looking forward to the new damage model.
  21. It is a free mod that is available, created by a small group (Markindel, Stonehouse & Crazyeddie). It is also AI only. They have made several other WWII aircraft so check the ED User download section and the forums. The Campaign is indeed online and fully dynamic (though manually tracked and managed). It is mission based instead of a full time online type of deal. See here for details: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=169782 Right now, the Axis is still a bit short of players on the US time frame (10PM Eastern). If anyone is interested, please respond in the above thread or PM me and I will get you set up. We are also still trying to start up a Euro friendly time for the campaign, again, see above link for details.
  22. That's up to the mission designers and server operators to provide that motivation. With my WWII campaign, saving the aircraft is an important aspect for success.
  23. As far as the AI going up and down in alt, depends on how the waypoint alt is set, If its sea level, they should be relatively steady, UNLESS it is an alt that puts them to close to ground level which is around 500-750 ft AGL. Then they will pop up and down pretty aggressively trying to avoid the ground and then trying to get back to the designated altitude.
  24. On the Virtual Aerobatic server, on a couple occasions, we have had AI aircraft spawned by a client(only intended AI aircraft on the VA are the tankers). It apparently happens when they try to access an aircraft they do not own. I know the software usually prevents that from happening, and yet a few still find that they can select the slot. The AI aircraft usually end up blocking taxiways or ramps and will stay there until the person that spawned them leaves the server. This is obviously more a problem of a corrupted install, it would still be nice if the AI was not created at all, or at least removed when the client could not actually control the aircraft. At one point, we had 6 AI aircraft blocking a taxiway until the person (unawares that they had created them) left the server, at which point, they all despawned. I would post logs but pretty sure nothing was shown at the time and I am unable to recreate as my installs all keep me from selecting the slot in the first place as intended.
