  1. Man i so loved STALKER. But, played the first and second stalkers SO much, (500 hours ?) , that i don't think i'll be revisiting the zone anytime soon
  2. yeah man, i've been flying without track-ir and with keyboard for quite a while on and off, but it just doesn't feel right. So besides the obvious PRACTICAL reasons why you need a stick and track-ir , the immersion factor is even a bigger bonus you get with the stick and track ir. Having that said though, i personally do not think you need a terribly expensive stick. Altough you'll need at least an X-52 . (cheapest one)
  3. heheh , to OP , yeah some people are super sneaky  Just remember this : First look how many people are in the server. If it's packed, you're gonna have to be super carefull . At the slightest uncomfortable feeling of "ok what's happening here ? " or "where did he go ?" , you turn around cause you're about to get smoked. If you are 1 vs 1 , and you both get within firing range, you simply have to assume he has fired as soon as he's within range. I would suggest you learn what that distance is on your radar screen. Start snaking from that distance even if you are not sure he even fired . Then, when you are comfortable in range yourself, you can fire a missile yourself, guide if for a few seconds, and then get the hell out of there :pilotfly: If you're tracking a target, and he's doing weird stuff like staying just outside/inside your firing range, not engaging you, and you feel like you are kind of trailing him, drop him as a target, quickly scan high and low cause there's probably a buddy of his trying to kill you. If you can't find the other target very quickly : Turn around and GTFO :) I think you can outrun missiles fired at you from 10 miles and up , maybe even closer so don't start panicing right away when a missile is fired at you, as long as you know at what distance it was fired from. Basically , if you suck like me, you need to be super paranoid all the time. The second you feel like you're not in control > GTFO ! oh p.s : In editor, fly against a single aircraft. Turn on labels, then fight him to get a good idea of what the missile's capabililties are, and how easy it is to defeat a missile fired from longish range.
  4. Your brain wants to adapt to EVERYTHING as QUICKLY as possible. And the human brain is exceptionally good at just that. It always tries to make sense of stuff. Therefore, it will take you about 30 seconds to get used to it. 30 minutes and it'll be second nature. More than that and you'll feel as if you've lost both your arms when you are NOT using it.
  5. Many will argue that your speed must be a lot lower still
  6. Wouldn't that be s ****load of work to implement ?
  7. Ouch lol , that "golf clap" in the end Also, i heard "extreme agility" , but they did not really show it , just a very cautious take off and landing it seemed ? edit* nevermind i should read before posting
  8. Adaptive VSYNC is a very nice feature. It costs little framerate loss, but, i'd still leave it off if you don't get any tearing. Nice card, nvidia all the way as far as i'm concerned. Driver support is about 10x better.
  9. F15 , cause MERICUH! Also the 3d cockpit is very nice.
  10. Do you guys have legal copies or ..... ? :glare:
  11. Everytime i see one of these, i'm flabbergasted What a commitment. Mad respect .
  12. For god's sake, get Track Ir
  13. Got your PM , send you one back but when i hit "send" it sent me to login screen so i'm not sure it arrived. Did not feel like writing it again In short : VERY nice monitor, and when you go SLI with 770's it will be most excellent for that high resolution, because that is where SLI really shines !
  14. I wouldn't even want to play any of those games on PC .
  15. Dude, if you want to get blown away by "pretty pictures", check out this thread You'll be looking for hours ... Trust me on this http://forum.dutchbodybuilding.com/f15/awesome-pictures-333831/
  16. haha why you are making excuses ? PS4 rocks ! There are many awesome games that are 10x better on console than on PC . FPS and RTS and SIMS yes pc, bit all the rest console ! (racing , GTA , fifa , Tekken < deepest game in the world btw, you name it! ) Funny thing is though, consoles are slowly becoming more and more like PC's :D
  17. I too stumbled upon a wounded SU25T while trying to get back to base today. I hailed him in chat . I said "Su25T, prepare to get shot at, defend yourself!" Then i waited 5 seconds, AND SHOT HIM I couldn't resist , i felt like a piece of crap afterwords but he was cool about it. Karma instantly cause i did not get rewarded for the kill .
  18. I would also like to know.
  19. I slapped my X52 once , like a little frustration slap . It broke instantly. I had it a week. I glued it back together, apparently the whole stick is on a very thin plastic hollow tube thingy. it's still holding months later. (knock on wood)
  20. I see my sarcasm with that comment has been lost It was joke damnit !:cry::cry: (i am fully aware that "personal skins in multiplayer" are not really important, i honestly swear i was kidding with that comment )
  21. Average system, then i'd say stay away from 1920x1200 and especially 2550x1440 . That last one will drain your framerates immensely. It's 3.6 million pixels , vs 2 million. 1), 1920 x 1080 . That is one. 2) I was playing @ 60 hz for a long time without even realizing since my monitor had 120 hz capabilities. (it was my first LCD, as an FPS semi serious player i did not want to get rid of my CRT) I just thought that LCD's were that crappy. Then i turned it to 120 hz by accident. (BF3 had a bug where it would say 120, but was actually running at 60hz when sli enabled) I jizzed in my pants right then and there. The difference is crazy . One thing though, you MUST also have high FPS to be able to fully enjoy the high refresh rate. 3) You want cheap, so TN is your only option. 4) For flight sims only ? Wouldn't worry about it too much, somewhere below 10 ms will be fine. 5) No idea . Thought this was only relevant in CRT monitors. Honestly, choosing a monitor has been the hardest pc part i ever had to choose. And i upgrade my pc very frequently. You're going to buy an nvidia GTX 780 ? Well, you're gonna be sad when you're getting 100+ frames in games, but you're stuck with a 60hz monitor . On the other hand, that cpu will bottleneck the sh^t out of that videocard anyway, so you won't be getting THAT much higher framerates anyway . I think you're right on the ball with the monitor you are looking at. It's cheap, 144 hz (for future) , and general consensus is that it's one of the best monitors you can buy in that price range . In fact i've been looking at the same one for quite a while. Instead i went with the 24" version, "248 QE" , because FPS , sit close in screen, and slightly better picture quality cause pixels spread out over smaller area. For playing every other game BESIDES first person shooters, i would definately go with the 278HE. It's a safe choice. One thing though, i'm guessing your current "HDTV" has a shiny screen ? You may want to look at the 278HE in real life first, because the colors do look a lot more lively on shiny panels. I mean, you'll get used to it very fast, but just be ready to expect a little less virbrant colors. I also have a samsung S23A700 , and i like the colors a lot better on that one. Tough choice man. Good luck lol
  22. yes. Or something like that. Meaning, if one knows how they do it in for instance arma, can that same method be used in this game ?
