Save up for the warthog. I used a x-52 for a year before and didn't enjoy the Sim as much as I do now with the warthog. and is much easier with less slop in center and guns among other unguided weapon deliveries is so much more satisfying. It is worth every cent, but remember that it won't make you a better pilot, but it will help a lot.

Yes to one as long as the smoke matches the real thing. Yes to two. No to three. Compromises have to made sometimes with a simulator. You can however change the speed of the ground crew in the ME. Also do you know it takes that long or are you speculating?

I've shot down the 190 dozens of times and the most frustrating thing for me is that sometimes it only takes a dozen rounds to rip off a wing or other times I can nearly empty all my guns into it and it flies with no problems. Even sometimes it will just decide to run away and out climb me at a faster speed than I can manage even with WEP while leaking fluid and black smoke coming out of it's engine.

Large curves are great for AAR, but I can't stand them if you need to do any kind of combat. It feels too sluggish for me when trying to maneuver.

The quicker you are with the trim hat the finer you can get it. I've learned to "bump" it by brushing my thumb against the hat quickly so it does just tiny amounts of trim. Not a perfect solution but it works for me. Oh, and I like nose heavy too.

I think the problem with Soulres' method is that the emergency brake disables the anti-skid switch, which last I heard is still bugged. You get more braking power with it off than on.

Just some advice for you Soulres, you may want to listen to Noodle on this one.

Sorry to tell you but that is incorrect. I don't know the key command to open the slipway door, but all I do click the lever. Insert resets the refueling system in case you disconnect by accident.

I never said such a thing. What I did say or actually implied was that at those ranges the missile shouldn't have run out of energy. That's why I fired at close range instead of 25 NM expecting a kill. We were both over the ocean. Not many places to hide. Even so the land near the shore was pretty flat for quite a ways. In that case I learned something. Let's be fair here. Even if I didn't turn around I wouldn't have seen what happened anyway. I might have been able to visually track his plane at max zoom but I'm not going to see the missiles. As for radar tracking, I had him locked at all times until radar gimbals at which point he was still coming at me, a good deal after the first missile. Cranked but certainly not in a notch. The first missile should have hit by then. Firing en mass didn't help anyway as all missed. Of course I don't expect range or agility to increase, I was hoping at least one would track. I get that it's fair. It's just as bad for the Russian birds too. I've argued that its bad for both many times on these forums. And I did say I'm not a great virtual pilot but tactics or not, 6 missiles shouldn't have missed from that kind of shot. Nowhere to run or hide. And to add, I don't expect to be a better pilot with improved missiles. That's not what I'm saying. I would like to score some hits more often though. Especially in my situation that I had last night. With every advantage like that, there shouldn't have been 6 misses.
