  1. I am waiting for the Combat style pedals aswell. But honestly, don't hold back on buying those pedals just because of that. I own pedals of the first batch from 2013 and they are still going like on day one. You can swap out the stock footrest with the combat style easy, when they get finaly released. I bet you could modify your Saitek footrest to fit on the MFG pedals with some DIY.
  2. Incase anyone is interested in F86 Landing gear switch (I don't know if it is really a F86 switch, seller says so atleast.)http://www.ebay.com/itm/North-American-F-86-landing-gear-switch-/172398882871?hash=item2823c63037:g:CsIAAOSwA3dYHTgj
  3. Those trimwheels on the CH stick are directly conected to the potentiometers of the X and Y axis inside of the stick. Moving them means you can indeed trim the aircraft ingame. Problem is that the mechanic may develope play over time and the potentiometers doesn't center properly anymore. The third wheel to the left is intended for use as throttle. I have never tried to use those wheels as trim, but I doubt you can adjust trim precisely with them ,as they have not much of travel. I don't know of any Stick or Throttle with Trim wheels included. Some people made their own controlers for Trim using multiturn potentiometers. That's propably the best solution, because you can set it up and make it look as you like. You would need a controler board such as Leo Bodnar BU0836X or BU0836A controler board. There are some other Brand boards aswell. Saitek has a device for Trim too,but in my opinion it is expensive for what it is. GoFlight products seem really overpriced too.
  4. Don't be afraid of using a soldering iron. My first buttonbox I was thinking like you....I tried to avoid any soldering as much as possible because I simply thought it was complicated and time consuming. Now I see things different, I quite like using my soldering iron now. My skill is not perfect, but I saw improvements over time. Though I still avoid soldering on small areas for now, like on controller boards. BTW BU0836X is easy to work with, I used it on my first project.
  5. I believe there is no cheap solution for more or less realistic landing gear/Flaps controls. In my opinion the best solution is something DIY using on/off/on toggle switches for landing Gear and some momentary toggle switch (on)off(on) for flaps. But it needs one of those USB Controler boards, like Leo Bodnars or something similar, which is propably the most expensive part of the project. It's still better than those overpriced GoFlight panels, and you can add up to 32 buttons,if you want.
  6. Thanks, but it's been upgraded by a bit since then.,still not entirely finished though. (if it ever will be) :smilewink:
  7. I've made my build out of 20x20mm aluminium profiles. I would have prefered wood because you have more flexibility in design choices. But since I have no space like a Garage or Garden to work in, I went with with aluminium profiles which i bought already cut to my measures. I only wish I had a program like this though.
  8. I had the magnet coming lose once too. I put it back with Superclue ,it didn't come lose again since I've done it more than 3 years ago. I think it should be no problem to get the parts replaced.
  9. Mine are Serial No. 003 located in Germany. Sorry can't give any date on when I ordered them , there was not even a Website back then. According to Milans thread ,showing the first few prototype pictures on SimHQ Forums, I showed my interest in obtaining a Set in May 2013. I recieved them somewhere around mid August 2013.
  10. You also have to consider the throw of the Stick. I find 10cm are perfect,l personally wouldn't use a longer one than 12cm. In any case, even a 7,5cm one will make a significant difference. The longer the extension is the more stress will be put on the Gimbal and the risk to break it may get higher if you aren't carefull. Slamming to the boundaries of the stick isn't adviced with any length of extension anyway. Occasionally it will do no harm though,I'm using my extension for over 3 Years and I'm sometimes a bit rough I have to admit. Never had any broken parts yet (Fingers crossed^^) A Stick with extension is a bit different in use,you will have to use the whole arm to control, not just the hand. I only can recommend extensions of any length, wonder why Thrustmaster doesn't offer one by themselves as in my opinion the Warthog,or the Cougar, are made for it.
  11. I'm using Cam5 together with strongest Spring setting for almost 2 Years. My legs are in excellent shape now ,even thinking about getting a stronger Spring.^^
  12. My Stick had a lot of sticktion too, after opening it I found out why....there was no grease in it,and the bit that was has been dried out. I regreased it and it got a bit better. Some months later I had to regrease it again and thats been 3 years ago. Never bothered to do it again. Not because it's sticktion free now but because I didn't want to go through it every few weeks or months. I'm using a 10cm Extension ,helps to not notice the sticktion as much. Hope to get one of those upcoming new VKB Joysticks soon, then I will retire the Warthog Stick.
  13. From official Newsletter March 2015 regarding the Obutto: Will these fit an Obutto R3volution cockpit? MFG Crosswinds barely fit inside R3v’s pedals tray with limited adjustability. For full compatibility there is extra cost option “WAP set -width adjustment plates set” which is used to narrow pedals width – therefore provide a good fit for Obutto R3v Note : I don’t know if older Obuto “ozone” model will fit, but I belive pedals are NOT compatible with Ozone due to it’s too narrow pedals tray Link http://mfg.simundza.com/assets/downloads/MFG%20Newsletter%20March%202015%20general.pdf
  14. No, I'm sure if at all then in some years...propably never. I had to change the Cables for the brakes once, thats been 2 Years ago and no problems since. The Cables broke after some weeks already, problem was that they got bent back and forth. Milans solution was to add the loop we have now. That was the only problem I ever had,and it got solved very fast.
  15. Even if they ever start to get sticky ,it's easy to change the Ball bearings. It's a well thought design, every part that may wear out can be easily replaced with standard materials, like you can get in every Hardware store. Edit: @cichlidfan, As far as I know they will fit if you use the width reduction plates that you can buy as an option. You just can not swifel the Footplates anymore, not much of a problem in my opinion.
  16. Starting Number was 003,they are still kickin' and sliding like on Day 1.^^
  17. The Warthog base has a Diameter of around 110mm and is about 65mm tall. The baseplate where it sits on is 270mm X 230mm. It's easy to unscrew the baseplate and make your own. Cougar housing is 170mm X 170mm and 55mm tall. There is no Baseplate so reducing the footprint is hard to impossible.
  18. It's maybe not exactly what you are looking for,but some months ago I made a blank overlay for the throttle base which you can label, add background etc. then print it and cut it out. You can adjust the cutouts and anything else if you need to and use it as pattern to make your own panels out of whatever you want. I've always printed it out and laminated it,works well and it's easy to replace. Throttle Overlay BLANK.zip
  19. I got an I5 4690k and I can easily overclock it to 4,4ghz with core temps still capped at around 65-70 degree in a stresstest. In normal gaming it's hardly hitting 60 degree coretemp, but it's summer and pretty hot anyway. I think I could take it to 4.6ghz if I wanted to,but currently I have set it back at stock speed, which is fast enough for now. But good to know there is room for improvement later on. I use a Noctua DH14 Cooler. Maybe I just got lucky and got a good chip, not every does Overclock equaly well, but 4.4ghz should be doable.
  20. Why not consider a used Carseat? I've switched to one some months ago and it is much more comfortable and cheaper than a Playseat. But it's not an all-in-all solution with mounting brakets etc. and you would need to make a box or something to mount the Carseat to.
