  1. Actually the onus is on you to provide a reliable source stating that the K74M is in use across multiple platforms throughout the russian airforce. There are no such sources because as you've been told many times, it is not in active service other than in very limited instances and only in the latest gen fighters. This is not Fantasy Combat Simulator.
  2. Or do like the majority of players and switch to OB! This is not like other games, OB has the most up to date patches, with (almost always) the least amount of bugs and all the new weapons, modules and all the best MP servers. Forget the words release and open beta. 2.5 in itself is in OB. We then have an up to date version and older version. There really is no reason to stay on release.
  3. VBK throttle/stick combo comes to 1200$ shipped to Canada!! no thanks!!
  4. We've had this discussion before. All mods on a server must be downloaded by each player. Not many if any PvP servers allow mods.
  5. Unfortunately a mod won't cut it on MP. I'm hoping the ED is working on something with Russia, but not holding my breath due to the limitations of simulating their aircraft as we all know by now.
  6. Unfortunately it's these type of shenanigans that will have ED review its third party policies even more in the future. To be honest I think third party devs should be forced to work on one single project at a time (unless they can show the completely separate teams are working on different modules) before they can release any new modules. I guarantee the work involved in producing the Mig 19 was several times that required to fix the M2K radar, but of course with the limited resources, they decided to release new modules instead of fixing major bugs.
  7. I don't think it has ever been ED's policy to acknowledge all bug reports on the forums.
  8. This post easily wins the obviously not a bug, but Daniel will complain and post it as a bug, nonsense!!! The answer is found within your post and you even highlighted it!!! And you wonder why mods keep admonishing you!!
  9. That's what he said. Military restrictions based on top secret information that cannot be released. All countries have laws/restrictions to protect military secrets.
  10. And then at the 31 min mark the forum will be inundated with people demanding an explanation why the update did not go through yet. Patience Daniel, patience!
  11. Won't be able to test for a few hours, excited to know what the new max distances will be! Of course you need to test from alt.
  12. It could be worse, we could be some of those fool-hearty folk who think stable is the only version to have!
  13. Mine just shot back up to 9 out of 27Gb! After initially downloading 9gb. Something's not right.
  14. NM. don't forget to disable your mods first!! My sound mod wasn't disabled. its now around 9gb d/l
  15. 27 GB download for me HTTP D/L. how is this possible. switched to torrent, 27GB. everything up to date until this morning.
  16. At this point I'm considering the map as a WIP. One of the most frustrating, bug ridden part of the sim. But to add, I don't consider it a priority at this time. I do have confidence the map will get worked on, but there are more pressing issues and ED seems to have a full plate so we'll just have to wait.
  17. I doubt server admins will be forced to do anything. It is their hardware that is hosting, so it's up to their discretion to remove/ban anyone they want for any reason. There is no way ED (legally or ethically) can force a server to accept someone they don't want to give access to.
  18. Actually most software will force an update whether you want to or not. I like that DCS gives me the option to cancel the update and run the update anytime of my choosing. It's not a bug, its a feature. ED gives you the choice to install or not. If you want to run it later run the updater.
  19. Just curious, why not?
  20. Heck I'd even go for a non armed version of any medium to long range UAV! Make it a two part process to deliver in the field. A UAV, whether catapult or runway launched, and the Ground Control Station. On MP you can use a helo to transport the GCS on to a ridge line and have LOS, giving greater range. Destroy the GCS, the UAV returns to home base on timers, giving you a chance to deliver a new GCS. Place several GCS around the map to pass off the UAV to another kill box. So many possibilities.
  21. Yup! Day one purchase for me. As a former UAV operator myself, something like this would bring the battlefield to the 21 century! Using an F10 type map to plot courses, speed, alt, CW/CCW orbits while scanning, lasing and even firing on target.... yeah ok.. got to be done! Implement a pseudo triple screen display, map, engineering tables and sensor display. There is no sim or even game on the market that offers anything close to real world UAV operation. Arma comes the closest but the controls (at least since I last used them a few months ago) are very clunky and don't respond most of the time.
  22. no, perfect condition means everything must be perfect: Altitude, LOS, temperature, baro, right down to the air quality at surface. Not modeled in DCS.
  23. Just for reference: https://fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/smart/agm-65.htm The Maverick E Used in conjunction with ground or airborne laser designators, the missile seeker, searches a sector 7 miles across and over 10 miles ahead. If the missile loses laser spot it goes ballistic and flies up and over target -- the warhead does not explode, but becomes a dud. Range: 17+ miles (12 nautical miles/27 km)
  24. Price of missile in no way reflects its effective range. According to wiki, max range of AGM 65 E is 12nm in perfect condition. In DCS it's probably in the 8-10nm region.
  25. It's not a MP issue. Its the limit in DCS (as Jojo satted) Although I thought it was 10nm, but regardless, there needs to be a limit (as actual RL limits are more then likely classified) and 8-10nm seems very reasonable.
