  1. I priced it out to get to Canada and it was over $450 CAD, maybe more depending on the fees/GST. That's a lot of cabbage for something that looks pretty flimsy. If it was half that price I could probably justify it. This is true, but the whole having to send it back to Russia or try to get a response if something fails is a real downside. It is surprising that someone in N. America hasn't come up with something like this. It always seems like this kind of niche stuff is produced overseas.
  2. So only 4 months of use and the motors quit working? Is this normal?
  3. Yah, there is no point releasing it without some major fixes to the AI behaviour. It's not even close to 'good enough' yet.
  4. I've been using my Trackhat for about 3 years now to replace my broken TrackIR, and it's been great, but I would really love the idea of having bright sunshine in the room while I use it. It seems like my system always has to be opposite a large window so the camera is facing directly into it. Here's what I'm referring to: https://www.trackhat.org/trackhatsensor
  5. I have mine mounted on an 11.6" screen (a couple years ago now). I just used velcro tape to keep it on with a couple furniture pads in the middle to keep it from flexing towards the screen in the middle. I also have it mounted to a swivel monitor arm so I can bring it close and move it all out of the way when I'm not using it. I can post a pic if someone is interested. That 3d cutout is a great solution, but I don't know the first thing about 3d printing.
  6. Semantics. There's already a thread on trim (that references the manual), so nobody can ever again ask a trim question without some Jabroni referencing the thread that he has already seen
  7. Always some Jabroni referencing the manual when someone asks a question on a forum Moderator, please shut the forums down as all we really need is the manual apparently. Seriously, what kind of idiot asks a question on a forum!? Anyways, there is a sticky in the main forum on this subject. Just change to Central Position Trimmer in the options menu and it will behave like the Ka 50. Why this is not the default position in the game is beyond me, yet it seems like every time they release a helicopter it's like this. It would save SO MANY forum posts and confusion if ED would just do this...
  8. Well put (the whole post). Hits it right on the head for me.
  9. The AI drags this down big time. Not the fault of the developer of Liberation, but a huge issue nonetheless. Personally, I've stopped buying modules/campaigns until ED fixes the AI, damage model, and gets a DC out. I'd be happy right now if they'd just fix the AI and some of the hilariously bad animations for ground troops that I didn't even see in 1998's M1 Tank Platoon 2. For those of us that mainly enjoy helicopters, and don't care about multiplayer (the vast majority), these things are very important.
  10. Yah, the camera does add to the shake, but compared to the smooth, controlled ride of a jet, it's got to seem like this thing could just fall out of the sky at any moment (as some videos recently show them doing). It's hard to know for sure without being in the cockpit, but it also seems that the in-cockpit sound is much louder than what we usually get in DCS without adjusting things. And good question...why no Ka 50's? I thought the 52 was fairly rare compared to the 50. I actually tried buying a Jetseat, but their payment system was such a gongshow (Sergei's site...only one available at the time) that I had to refund, which ended up costing me $25 in Paypal fees and I received nothing.
  11. I saw this video on YT (Warleaks-Military Blog) and was wondering the same thing about posting it here (what the protocol is for posting war footage). It's so rare to see this type of footage one can't help but be in awe of it. You just can't get the 'feel' for what a shaking, lumbering beast an attack helicopter like this is without seeing it in real action. I know it's war, but I can't help but think that sim developers aren't watching all of this footage to get ideas on how to improve the immersion and realism of their games. Some of the IFV/infantry footage coming out could have come straight from Squad...
  12. I'd have to look it up, but I bought mine over a year ago (premium version - received right before Xmas), and as I recall it was $265 CAD all-in. That's to Sask. There was a fee that I had to pay to DHL when it hit Singapore(?) of around $40, but that's included in the $265. I knew there would be a charge (it was duties/brokerage and GST, there was no PST). I remember comparing it to a Warthog at the time that would have been closer to $380, so the $265 sticks in my mind. I had to pay the same fee on my Crosswind rudder pedals. I really missed the boat on the Warthog combo (Stick and Throttle) that Costco carried briefly for $529 CAD. Why I didn't buy 10 of them...
  13. How did you pay? Credit card? Debit Card? Paypal?
  14. I'm not sure what you're talking about (choke, axial, shear?), but I will just wait and see how I can maybe modify my setup to accommodate a collective as there are so many of them out now, and I have all of the DCS helicopters, and will continue to buy them.
  15. Yah, I was thinking that too. I'd almost need to take the one side off, which I don't want to do as I really like the large tables. I don't want to go back to an office chair. I was hoping there would be a 'desktop' version like this one: https://wwsimstore.com/p/330.html
  16. Would it be possible to mount it on my setup anywhere, or does it have to be a traditional 'chair'?
  17. FYI in case anyone's interested. I never did buy one as they apparently do not accept credit cards?! This is the reason my Paypal didn't work as I only have a credit card connected to it. I've never had a Paypal transaction refused before now. Unfortunately they don't mention this on their site (see confusing 'Payment' paragraph above...VISA 'bank' cards??). In the end, Sergio offered to cover my $25 loss if/when I order again (which is the right move, and I appreciate that), and told me he'd let me know when they accept credit card, which he said at the time would be in a 'few days'. I'm still waiting... EDIT (Nov. 10th): Apparently they WON'T cover my loss and instead are saying I can just buy it for the now 5% reduced price that they are offering, which doesn't cover my loss. I figure I should get it for the 5% discount PLUS my loss, as the 5% is available to everyone.
  18. He's been very communicative, even though his english isn't great. I've already run into a payment issue however. He's telling me that he can't 'receive' the payment from Paypal. It shows as 'pending' on my credit card, and my Paypal balance is now zero. I used Paypal because I had a balance (about half the payment). It also shows 'payment accepted' for my order in my account on the Sergio site. Below is the cryptic information regarding payment on their site. When you go to pay, Paypal is an option (despite what it says below in red) and it says beside it 'Safe and Secure option'. I'm thinking maybe the 'balance' I'm using is a problem, or is it the fact that I only have a credit card hooked to my Paypal account? From what's below, I can't tell if they're talking about actual credit cards or what. What is a Mastercard 'bank card'? Does that just mean credit card or is that debit? We'll see how it goes... EDIT: Received a refund, but lost $25, I'm assuming for Paypal fees. Now I need to figure out who's fault this was... Secure payments I accept payments via PayPal or VISA, MasterCard bank cards. The main currency of this e-shop is Ruble (RUB). Prices in other currencies are for customers convenience and reference only. PayPal or a bank may take you some fee for currency conversion. Unfortunately, business-to-business payments with PayPal are restricted in my country. In such a case please try to pay from some other private account or use another payment option (with VISA or MasterCard bank cards). If the payment with the bank card doesn't go through, please contact your bank customer service and ask them to let the payment pass. Usually that helps.
  19. Andre directed me to his 'Sergio' partner site as they have stock: https://sergio-shop.simshaker.com/en/glavnaya/21-simshaker-jetpad-vibrating-pad.html Has anyone here ordered from this site with success? EDIT: I ordered one from this site today after discussing several things with Sergio. I'll post my experience when I receive it.
  20. I have emailed him about a week ago and haven't received a response yet, for what that's worth. I have been watching though and as fast as the product comes in stock it gets snapped up and goes out of stock, so that must be a good sign, no? If he's a one-man show he may just be dedicating himself to getting them out the door? I will email again though to ask about shipping. EDIT: received a response within hours from Andre. He's still in business, nothing is affecting it according to him.
  21. No big deal, I just want to be very sure how much cash I'm going to have to shell out when buying this thing. The fact that I can use it for so many different games that I own is the only reason I'm considering it. Has anyone received one of these recently? I'm wondering how close the shipping estimates are to reality.
  22. Ok, I see, thanks. Tundra's post actually says I can use either or for DCS, but I don't believe that's correct. So Wings I have to pay for if I want to play IL2, but the other two (Simshaker for Aviators and SimHub for racing) are free. What is confusing is that there are different links, one shows a cost (for Wings), the other (this one: https://simshaker.com/software/general/) doesn't show a cost, just a download link. I assume you need to pay once you install it or something? And if I do have to pay, I further assume it's a one-time cost? I know you get 10 licenses, but is that it if those get used up? Again, very sparse details on Andre's site.
  23. I suppose this one might go back to full price when it releases into EA, unlike Hind...although I guess that one went up to $55.99 from $47.99. I get it, the Apache is a lot more advanced module than the Hind. In any event, we can wait to pre-order until likely December to get the discount as I don't anticipate it releasing before then.
  24. Very clear, thanks a lot! It should be this clear on the website description with the product. So I will have to get the Simshaker Wings software which will cover IL2, but are you sure it's for DCS? No mention of DCS here: https://simshaker.com/guides/wings/ SimShaker for Aviators mentions DCS here: https://simshaker.com/guides/cases/ The next obvious question however is if the paid software is actually better than the free stuff?
  25. Not to wreck the big party here, but what is the benefit of a pre-order for this one? I know with the Hind it was a bigger discount than if you waited until it released into early access ($47.99 vs $55.99). I'm assuming this will be the price until it releases for real?
