  1. I'm a backer of the 8K. They just sent out the first test units of the final prototype to a very select few. Hoping to have it in a couple months. Retail would be I'm assuming a few months after that. Hard to say.
  2. Your in the minority there. It was a box office smash hit and one of the best recruiting tools the USN ever saw.
  3. I'd hold off to see what the next gen of sets does. Things like the Pimax are close, the final run evaluation sets where sent out a few days ago, Rift has a new version coming and etc etc. On the original post, I was the same as most. It was a couple weeks of getting used to it and now there's never an issue.
  4. Yep, I've ejected as well. There's this guy named RedSky in my group that just seems to love shooting me down. :)
  5. I dunno. There's only a couple of Tom Cruise movies that weren't successful in thier day. Sure some are dated now but I'll bet this is a decent movie.
  6. Yeah Chucks stuff is pay worthy. The guy does a huge amount of work for the community. If nothing else he deserves everyone's respect.
  7. I have a labels.lua that puts a gray dot on aircraft from 3-10 miles I believe it is. It dissapears in close when you can see it and when its BVR. Send me your email and I'll give you a link to my cloud.
  8. After spending a good part of yesterday trying everything out I'm going to try a deadzone of 2. Probably put the curve around 15. I've used 28 on the Harrier and other modules but the Hornet is rather stable.
  9. Create a custom mission and you can select them in the same place you load weapons. They aren't in any of the instant missions.
  10. Yep I took it off. I've been waiting for this day for 25 years.
  11. 2 dead zone. 98 for both of the next and 28 for the curve. Been using that for years and I tank all the time. We started using these curves when we were flying a Hornet mod and it made all the difference for a number of us. I've continued to use the same for the Harrier with the same success. The other thing to try is using only 2 fingers on front and your thumb near the base of your HOTAS. It lessens the amount of movement you input and results in a more controlled approach.
  12. I always used the DCS config. I found the software unstable.
  13. You think it's wrong that a person uses their own property as they see fit? Grow up.
  14. Yep I gotta say, I always liked the Harrier but had no idea how much I would enjoy this module. Excellent work and a very unique experience.
  15. I stopped reading right there.
  16. That's what it boils down to for you. Not all.
  17. I would suggest that using zoom is one way to play. Certainly if a person wants to do so, by all means. It is however not for all. What the vast majority of people in this thread and many others are getting at is that zoom removes immersion and is not what most would prefer to do. For some this is fine but why would a limit be put on how we utilize this sim when there are obvious other ways to go about it that don't break immersion at all.
  18. How I could go on about your post Zhukov. Your not the only one that's been flying sims for decades and there are numerous excellent examples of how to implement model visibility. I have no idea what you've been playing but its not the experience of a lot of us.
  19. Could be, who knows.
  20. Its a tedious time to look at VR. The Pimax is coming in the next month or two for backers and I'd assume within 6 months for everyone else. The Vive Pro looks good, The new Rift is enroute and they all have their speculation. ' Personally, I backed the 8K Pimax because of the 200 Degree FOV and I think it will provide the best experience of them all but time will tell. I'd buy a used Rift for now and put more funds into the next gen.

Its a funny topic. I personally think "why would anybody not want to start the aircraft", then a buddy in my squad who flies every day uses the autostart on every plane he can because he just doesn't want to start another dam aircraft. But yeah, its not working right now. I'm sure soon enough. They're doing a great job with this module.
