  1. I haven't measured it as of yet. Do you have a software that you can suggest. I was looking at purchasing a hardware device for my own curiosity. I must apologize, I'm actually running a 650W: Thermaltake Smart Pro RGB 650W 80+ Bronze Smart Zero I have a 1000W Corsair in my other system that I was planning on putting in there if I experienced any issues but haven't seen any to date.
  2. Everything in my system is overclocked.
  3. Way off. See my stats below. I have a 700W PSU
  4. Yeah, its a preference thing on the PD. I have historically kept it low to maximize the size of enemy air (1.2 usually). I'll say this, once I upgraded my system (see signature), I about maxed all the settings (Not MSAA of course because it does nothing in VR) and now I run at PD of 2.0. The difference is quite impressive. I mean, its still a Rift so there's limits but the amount of things that I can see is much improved. I assume due to the higher settings more than the PD.
  5. Wmacky, I'm also a Pimax backer. I admit to a VR addiction and its part of the reason I bought the Odyssey but my plan, is to sell the Rift, keep the Odyssey for the misses and use the Pimax when it gets here.
  6. hmm. I should have mine in the next week I'd imagine. I'll post my results. I'm currently running 2.0 with near max settings in the Rift. There still some ghosting but no stutters. i think the Ghosting is more an ASW thing than anything else. Not sure though.
  7. Yep, your mileage varies. I don't care about the hand controls. At all. I'm only looking for the headset and its tracking ability alone, of course, with its clearer image. Personally, I segregate the two (headset and hand controllers). I have a few rift games that I do use them for but very limited. VR has a ways to go before I'll really be engaged, but for DCS, the headset is all that matters.
  8. I bought one. 300 US and positive reports from a member of my group who has one. I couldn't pass it up. Don't believe the trolls people.
  9. I believe it was a "jays 2 cents" video that had the comparison. I'll see if I can find it. The math is secondary to the reality.
  10. In my research I determined that the FPS increase is very minimal. I was looking at DDR4 3200 vs 4266. What I found however was that the FPS drop was better with the higher speed ram by about 5 FPS. So if you gain 10 frames with 3200 you may see a lower end drop of 8 fps. With 4200, the same 10 fps increase may see only a 4 or 6 fps drop. So, thats minimal, unless your trying to squeeze every frame out of your system for things like VR With that I went with the higher speed. Keep in mind you need to go into your bios to enable it. I would also suggest that future proofing is the benefit of the higher speed ram. With items such as the pimax and others coming, the ram may by that little extra boost you need.
  11. Buy it now. Support Heatblur, support the community, enjoy the ever loving piss out of it.
  12. Please, just... ... just don't.
  13. We should probably start with your pocket book. How much do you want to spend?
  14. Thats the thing BitMaster, the vast majority of us will never see the volume of issues you will given your career. Asus for the majority of people is, if nothing else, the best bet. In my opinion, by far.
  15. Going to 32 was a big improvement for me in multiplayer. I fly with Greek, so same scenario. Actually I think his going on about it forever was what made me take the leap :)
  16. Knock on wood, not 1 issue with mine as of yet and the performance is excellent.
  17. Lol. Yeah it's a crazy world. You should see the look on faces when your 9" think reactor only has .5" of wall left and you shut down a major upgrading facility.
  18. Its like anything, if you work in the industry, you see the failures. Don't get me started on pressure vessel fabrication companies, you'll pee your pants.
  19. Wow, that seems crazy to me. Of course I'm not disputing your experience. I've used Asus for decades now, overclocking, water cooling and generally abusing to my fullest extent and never had 1 issue. Mileage always varies.
  20. I have one in this thread for ya Colmillo https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3683435#post3683435
  21. Yep, thats where I was going Yoda, good post.
