Actually it doesn't seem to matter if you have the Yaw/Heading Channel ON or OFF. ( The AP mode settings. Often heading in a basic AP is controlled by the rudder or tail rotor ) I just tried it both ways and the rudder pedal stays where I have it at the moment I hit the "Trim" button until I re-trim or clear the trim. Can't swear to it but I think my Rudder Trim checkbox re-set itself at one point. Probably just me forgetting that I un checked it. But maybe worth taking a peek before you fly ? Edit: Also not sure if it did anything regarding this issue but I ran the "Repair DCS World" last night to correct an unrelated issue I was having. I also have the Saitek Pro Combat Rudder Pedals. And the X-45 stick and throttle

I don't know what to say guys. I just went into DCS, set the Rudder Trim option on, went into a flight and with the Yaw Channel OFF, when I hit "Trim" the in cockpit rudder pedals stay right where I have them and return to that spot until I re-trim or clear trim. I didn't try with the Yaw Channel ON yet. Although I think that if you are going to be manually trimming the rudder you might want that off anyway ?

Do you have the Yaw Channel on ? Maybe you have to do that ? I don't feel any need to trim the rudder myself but will give it a try just to see what happens Edit: I don't know what to say guys. A little question about the Rudder Trimmer...
lorenzoj replied to Skulleader's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Good discussion guys, zaelu for the detailed explanation, and Lizzard for the condensed version. After a period of trial and error some time ago with options checked and un-checked in all the helo models, I found what seemed to work best for me. But I couldn't figure out how to best explain it to other users. Good job you guys ! -
Fixed in current update

Radios are still in development (wip)

A little question about the Rudder Trimmer...

Man you have to get yourself some good pedals...... the helicopter flying experience is like night and day with pedals. Put them at the top of your holiday wish list :joystick: -
Just for the heck of it, try reversing whatever you have set for Central Position Trimmer Mode. Some people have gotten unexpected results switched one way or the other. Can't hurt anything to try it out and see how it works for you

Can someone procuce a tank killing video..
lorenzoj replied to Offlinepilot's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
I don't think the hip was ever intended to be a tank buster was it..... ? -
Like Lizzard said is good advice......

For me, using the map and ruler works well enough for now. Set a course, check the offset a bit later then make a guess as to the correct course. Works well enough for now in most cases till the other systems are activated
-
VanjaB, the two systems are modeled differently because they are technically different in each aircraft and used differently in each. It's not just lazy programming...... Edit: PS 159th Falcon's tips is a good thing to check also for consistancy
-
Yes.... I was about to say that the "trim" does operate differently in both aircraft

Klunker C:\Users\YOUR-NAME\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input Then look in the individual aircraft folders under Input Delete the existing keyboard.lua

There's been an entire section exclusively Huey since day 1 :music_whistling:

Interesting to see the black cockpits with the updated avionics....

'622' 762mm causes serious slowdown
lorenzoj replied to Offlinepilot's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
I hadn't thought of that.... All I knew was that a wicked short burst from ether caliber will easily take out a Humvee or fuel truck or similar :megalol: -

The continuous fire affect on frame rate is interesting sort of but when would you want to do that in the context of a regular mission. Mostly you would want to be employing short controlled burst wouldn't you ? -
The point was that for that pilot avatar I had started out as "invulnerable" for the logbook and unintentionally changed it to "vulnerable". At the time of the error I had already "died" 139 times. My purpose for this avatar is to keep a running total of all aircraft flight times. For a campaign I would/could use a "vulnerable" avatar. Either way, in individual SP or MP missions you still "die" and "game over man" unless you want to jump to another aircraft And you can still monitor statistics like number of landings vs deaths for each aircraft

I'm quite happy to be able to mess around with the Beta version while it's being developed and not at all concerned that some things are missing, need tweaking or are WIP...... it's a BETA
-
Hmmm..... I was assuming having to manually increase the throttle after auto startup was a bug in 1.2.6
-
It was in one of the only folders I must have not looked in the first time....... "Mission Editor" Copied it to the desktop and opened with my HTML editor. There was a line at the very top "invulnerable=.." which I changed to True. Then there was a line near the bottom of that pilot's section, "Death=.." which I had to change to False. I can now select that pilot again and everything looks good to go Thanks for the push in the right direction
