I changed out my 16gb kingston beast 1600mhz for 32 gb 2400mhz gskill last spring and this was the most beneficial thing I have done to date for running DCS. I don't know if it was the increase in size or speed. 4790k@ 4.6, 980ti, asus rog vii, samsung ssd.
@pimp. I had the fortune to pick up a dk2 real cheap and as I have triple 27hd, wasn't looking to go vr. Cv1 now ordered and can't go back to flat screens even with the sde of the dk2. You won't regret it!
It sure is surprising that some people experience these issues and some not with almost identical builds. I used to have some grief with 780ti's but since putting in a 980ti I have very good performance with smooth stutter free frames in triple 1080 screens and vr. Gpu is always pegged at 100%.

Really interesting to watch this develop as I never look at assembled systems. @BuzzU, did you look at the ABS Vortex Leo listed on your link, i7, 270 chipset, 32gb ram, 1060 6gb, 240gb ssd, at $1,199.99. Seems like all good reviews. Good luck!
16gb ram made a difference for me, the thing is whenever ED release 2.5 even the caucasus map will be more ram hungry than it is now as its being redone in the new terrain engine.
