  1. The code for funnel smoke remians the same as before - the smoke itself is one volume and all white, you cant adjust thickness any more. The third variable is left and right of centre - useful on many ships which have 2 funnels side by side [1] = 0.60, pos = {0.0, 35.0, 10.0 } }, -- 1st funnel [2] - 0.60, pos = {0.0, 35.0, -10.0} }, -- 2nd funnel - in this case 2 funnels equal distance behind centre, same height, one to the left and one to the right - if you wanted 2 funnels one behind the other then the first variable (0.0) changes to say for example -10.0 , or 10 units behind funnel 1. I believe ED are going to do something else with this, but I know not what that might be. It works fine apart from thickness and darker, which used to be almost perfect, sadly no longer !!
  2. I love CH'S stuff but I dont lke these HUGE packs - they take forever to download and if any single item needs fixing along the way you have to do it all again. For my own needs I always break those big packs down and install the bits I want. That way if ED release the same item I can pick and chose which one I want to keep, saves on space therefore saves on loading times for the game. A couple of items is okay though, that doesnt take up too much space on a limited hard drive. Its fine margins I suppose.
  3. 80% of the stuff I play with most is 3rd party, some Core Game stuff is really good, some of it is crap, but ED's bug control lags way behind their ambition. That said developing a game like this must be extremely difficult and there is no way they could ever hope to meet all of our demands, outragious and otherwise that some of them are !! I like ships, I like 1950-70's stuff, and I'm a Brit so my preferences lie there so ED is never likely to meet even half of my 'wants list', I haven to accept that, and I do. On balance its pretty damn good really, I still dont see anything better out there.
  4. In the ME, if you want to add another ship type to an existing entry you cannot change the category to All, it defaults to whatever ship type is already there.
  5. The Type 21 (UK Exocet fit) had 4 launchers , all facing forwards, and a SeaCat launcher behind the funnel. Lovely little boats, much loved by their crews but ever so vulnetrable, as was found out in 1982. Most warships are lumbering great heaps of metal, but these were the greyhounds of the Oceans. Never served in one, sadly, but watched 2 of them sunk, Ardent and Antelope. I can still see Antelope exploding as the bomb went off, we were less than 100 yds away, RIP the guys who lost their lives on them both. Smartest little ships the RN ever had, shame about the thin upperworks and hulls.
  6. Nope - White smoke only - and not a "belch" as such - more of a gentle "phut phut" There are Arcade games out there with better looking funnel smoke.- come on ED, you can do better, we know you can.
  7. Cars on Carriers - and a sports car to boot - how very Italian !!!! When I served in HMS Hermes the RN wouldnt even let me take my bike on board, I wanted to stow it on the hangar wall racks well out of everyones way ... miserable bu**ers said it constituted a fire hazard and was a risk to safety !!! (This was in pre electric bike days of course !!) I fooled them though, every night I used to run up and down the flight deck in my cycling gear, helmet included !!
  8. I wonder if this is ever going to get fixed - what we had before was almost perfect, what we have now is garbage. I live in hope !
  9. Put them in the VSN_F35/Liveries/VSN_F35B and/or VSN_F35B_AG. USS Forrestal ? - No idea what you mean, these liveries are for the VSN F35. - These liveries fit the VSN F35B only.
  10. 8 numbered and 1 Generic F35B of 13 Sqn Italian Navy - for Its Cavour. There is a little stretching on the textures so I have modifed the placement to remove as much of that as I can - Pilots shoulder patches added, but you cant really see them !! https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/r926kuseny2xcnuntu9wi/CrazyEddies-F35B-Its-Cavour.zip?rlkey=ggeiwq35hrxmbo47sf0yidebt&st=69qxv6yo&dl=0
  11. I dont use the F35 myself any more, send me an imagoe of the sort of thing you are after and I'll see what I can do. Which version of the VSN Aircraft are you guys using now, its so long since I looked at this I have no idea which versions work now ?
  12. a29b_stores.dds and a29B_stores_spec.dds Its VERY high gloss compared to the aircraft so matching it tone for tone is difficult.
  13. If its not showing up - In the entry.lua, looks for the shapes line and remove the / after the word Shapes/ It should look like this: mount_vfs_model_path (current_mod_path.."/Shapes")
  14. Admiral has a serious spinal issue, he has to deal with that first, give him time, he will be back when he is able.
  15. Some cosmetic changes to my original USS Forrestal fictional UK style liveries, slightly different warning hatching around lifts and other moving parts on the deck. 2 version of each livery - one with the lifts raised and one with them all down - you can pick and chose the lifts you want up or down - see the description lua and I have shown how that can be done. If you prefer the older original style in the liveries mod I posted much earlier dont use these. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/k91bhcfrbtvuo2umdo7wl/CrazyEddies-Liveries-for-USS-Forrestal.zip?rlkey=4mgu1iecwyrbgcfsrjkw7xtbm&st=17p0cquq&dl=0
  16. Western - A question for you, and anyone else who might have an answer. The description.lua for this aircraft, based on the actual edm I present to ModelViewer, does not show any need for a RoughMet texture, so do you actually need one ? I have never understood why that might work - if its not listed in the description logic tells me mod will not see it even if you create one. Or am I missing something ?
  17. MV22 COD of VRM-50 and a Fictional Royal Navy Livery with a Staic and a Flying option - I dont think the RN will ever buy these. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/e0h9sn93u7w2b5q2cncqx/MV22-CRM-50.zip?rlkey=d6hll8dh8cn8xjpnuivdb4uks&st=v31y1gjq&dl=0
  18. A personal rework of the MV22 skin - in VRC-30 COD Livery with new interior. This isnt an MV22B - So its not an exact match, but close enough to present images that I could find less all the COD bits !! I hated the interior and decided to hack the existing C-130 interior and put that in its place, again not even a close match, but better than what was there. You cant actually see much of it anyway, so this will do. I have tried to get the panel lines a bit better than exuisting liveries, that took some time !! In the livery folder you will find 2 blank skins, one grey and one white/grey - so have a go yourself and see what you can make with it - feel free to do whatever you want with my stuff. If you want to create a parked version with the doors open and the blades foled there is another description.lua in there to do that, you will omly have to remove the first 2 words.! https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/dk10obhpuea26exnuh8xy/CrazyEddies-MV22B-COD-VRC-30.zip?rlkey=4e7o235tp5e575nig5ialvk6j&st=plzr7tsc&dl=0
  19. I was about 80gb short of space for this last update, I looked to see what I could get rid of safely and the backups were more than enough, so I deleted them. I had backups going back a long way, I have run this game since it's inceptions - so quite a lot !! The previous large update I deleted a couple of maps and a couple of aircraft that I never use and that allowed me to run that update - its all small margins, thats all. I was not sure if those backups were related to reverting versions though, hence my question above. I have reverted my game in the past for various reasons and I decided to take the plunge, if I lose them I lose them, I can always reinstal the game from scratch if I have to, that was my thinking. Small margins !
  20. Am I right in thinking if you wanted to roll back to a specific version you would need these folders to be able to do it ? Personaly I had to delete all of them for the last update, it was the only way I could make enough space to allow that huge download.
  21. I appreciate the argument about long periods of stability, but some of us live in very rural areas with poor internet speeds so these huge downloads can take a whole day. I have decent rig but poor internet so for this one I'm half way through and it will finish some time during the night, I wont be losing any sleep over it but i still preferred the more frequent smaller downloads. I had to dump some maps and some aircraft foe the last big one (not a big issue for me) so this time I had to delete all of the saved updates in the core game, that released enough to get this one to download - if it keeps on like this we are going to need 2tb drives just for the game. Personally I use my PC for many other things so I pity guys who cant afford larger drives etc etc.
  22. There was a time not long ago when we got very regular smaller downloads - now all we get are HUGE downloads that take hours and you have to delete maps or something to make space for it - this is not the way to do it guys !!
  23. That Leander is wrong, no nav lights above the main nav lights on any ship in any Navy, Rules of the Sea etc etc. I did look it up just to be sure. That said nobody will know one way or the otherr I dont suppose. The white light combination on it is okay though, there are many combinations of lights they can use. The problem is its just a game and you cant model every variation on the lights theme the way the game is so go for what you prefer mate, only old bu**ers like me will notice crap like that - - it's what I was put on this earth for Ha Ha !!
  24. Technical Points - At sea the flight deck floodlighting would probably be red light if at, or going to, flying stations with no white light anywhereb else - preserving night vision for the deck crews - only white light if no flying and the port and stbd walkways were also lit up, or they were playing deck hockey at night !! (True - bloody silly but great fun !!) I'm looking at those port and stbd light on the masts, I cant seem to remember there being any nav lights up there, my ancient mariner memory is a bit vague on that though. (Off to look that up just to prove myself wrong !!) Looking nice mate, good to see you back in the frame. Late Edit - The lights on the masts should only be either white or yellow lights, depending on what the ship is doing - there are no nav lights that high up, it could only cause confusion to other ships, ie, if you can see a green light ahead of you that ship is moving left to right, red light its moving right to left. If youcan see a green on the left and a red on the right its coming towards you, other way around its going away from you. White light at the stern, white or possibly a red light on top of the mast. Just to add to the confusion if there are several other combinations of lights up there that could indicate any number of different things - a ship trawling nets etc etc etc etc. I would stick to port and stbd standard lights in the usual places just under on close to the bridge, rear white light and red floodlights for the flight deck, that should cover any eventuality !!!!
  25. Thanks Max, they are aware of an issue. I think this is the Mod I got it from : Or try this one: https://www.mediafire.com/file/8ribjb9cyrvvymx/MOD_HELICOPTERE_SERIES_JSGME_2.8.1.7z/file
