  2. Hwere are those 2 missing textures, just the textures, you will have to create the livery yourself. I had a whole heap of stuff in my archive once but not much left now, I dont use this aircraft much myself these days and had ditched a load of stuff ages ago, its a very old model and not great quality.   4. VSN Mod - pretty basic but it looks okay.
  5. HMS Eagle was considered for an F4 conversion, she was the only other RN Carrier of that period that had the hull size and realistic cost potential for that work, but it never happened. In the end the RN was only ever going to get 1 x F4 Sqn so the need never arose really. HMS Ark Royal was converted extensively to take F4's in 1977 and whilst Eagle did trail F4's, they did land on and take off again using existing kit, but she would also have needed a huge refit to do the job properly. F4's were ordered for her air wing but once the decision was made to cancell the F4 refit those aircraft were passed on to the RAF's 43 Sqn, I believe. One or 2 came back over time to replace accidents and natural wastage !! (I have a really interesting story of how 1 x F4 came to be lost off HMS Ark Royal, the pilot was a close friend - for another time perhaps !) The other RN Carriers of that period were never serious contenders for an F4 refit. HMS Hermes would have to have been almost completely rebuilt from the hukll up to take F4's, that was never a viable option and she had been earmarked as the next Cdo Carrier anyway, a role she was well suited to. HMS Victorious was, I believe, considered but rejected for many reasons, I think she was just too small and too old. I served with HMS Eagle when she was a fixed wing Carrier as an NGGLO, and in HMS Hermes (845 Sqn) when she was a Cdo Carrier, the differences in deck size and internally, hangars, stowage etc, was considerable. When they were scrapped Eagle was actually in a much better condition that Ark Royal, so I was told. I dont believe the RN ever seriously considered any other US Fixed Wing Aircraft apart from the F4, the Wessex and Sea Kings were UK Westlands built versions of US Helo's of course. Thats it, as best I remember.
  6. Norwegian Postal Ferry's - for your information only: The Hurtigruten liveries are as accurate as the model restrictions allow. (It was a cheap model Admiral tells me) Early versions of the class did not have a helo deck, they were Winch Only decks, later versions had the deckheads strengthened to accept smaller helos, so a bit of both painted. These ships have been used to cruise down to the Southern Ice, so they are pretty robust bits of kit. Their normal trade is running up and down the Norwegian coast as good old fashioned nautical postmen, I used to pass them regularly diring my times in Norway in the 1970-80's. . The remaining liveries are not accurate at all really, as far as I know none of the other Companies used this class of boat, SO, in order to give you a bit of variety I found images of boats they did use in the Baltic Sea area and painted the existing model in a similar style, artistic licence writ large !! The Russian St Peter Line did exist, it ceased trading around the time of Covid I believe and has not operated sinse, as far as I am aware.
  7. Try recreating the dds files, load them and save them in dds fomat again, there have been issues with some of the older mods.

This issue with shelters has been around for a while now, around 2.7 is used to work just fine, you could park your Tucano under one of VCP's super shelters, do the whole start up and fly thing then park again under it. Then it stopped working, I reported it and I think others did as well but nothing ever happens with stuff like that, sadly. If you place the shelter as an object and then try to start fly from under that shelter it will always default you to the nearest start point that isnt under a shelter, and its bloody annoying I know !!
  9. Hawkeye and I knocked up a couple of civilian ships a few years ago now - I can probably skin a Generic Norwegian Postal ship for you. Updated 8 May 24 - Regretably cant be done, this is very old model and the bow is made up from bits of texture taken randomly from differnt bits of the testure file and I cant line up the red band around the hull, its too broken up. Sorry. We may have found something better, we are investigating.
  10. The lua above will add the Mk46 Torpedo to the 4 Pylon spots, but they wont drop like air drop torpedo's, they will drop like iron bombs. The closest I ever gor to an air drop weapon was by adding a Russian FAB250 M54-TU, that is an air drop para retard bomb, it looks similar when falling ... but its still a bomb. (If it looks like a bomb and it drops like a bomb you can be pretty certain - its a bomb !!) I also tried to find something that looked similar to a depth charge, so added the FAB-250 - its roughly the same sizer and shape as a Naval Air Drop depth charge, that of course drops like a bomb and goes bang like a bomb, because its a bomb !! The Royal Navy were saying at some point a couple of years ago that they intended to add some kind of AGM weapon to the type but i have never seen one so armed, and I live in an area where I see lots of them. SO - You could try these Pylon settings.   11. Hmmm - defo not 20 minutes. There is something amiss there. Have you tired any other helo's, what did they do. If its happening all the time whith everything then that might suggest you have a fault in your ship mod, try another download and see if that corrects it.
  12. There are no updates for this Mod, the original AI only is still all you get, sorry. We have no plans do any other helo's - this was a one off for both of us, a little experiment to see if we could actually make it work. Neither of us make cockpits or anything like that. If somebody created a Crowsnest Mod from scratch I could find a way to add that to the side of the heo as a weapon add on (perhaps), or something like that. There are no weapon add ons to make it an ASW mod, ED is not configured to be able to drop air drop torpedos from helo's, you can add any bomb you want, or even a type 45 torpedo, but they will only drop like bombs. (And always miss - I have tried it !!)
  13. andy - Just tried it with the Sea King and Beldins revised flight deck data - it works fine. Are you giving it enough time to do the manouver - it hangs around a little bit off the side whilst they line up the speed and height before moving across the deck to land, that seems about the right rate from what I remember so the model is working pretty accurately i think.

  15. Works perfectly here. I need to correct the landing spots if I can work out how to do it - it's landing on the wrong side of the flight deck. !!
  16. Paint.net - its free and very good if a little basic. I have been using PhotoImpact10 for many years, very limited in size of texture files you can work on but it has everything and its very user friendly Gimp - as Morpheus suggest - excellent, and also free versions available.

I saw that connectior thing you mention Joey, none of my mods have a stack connector so I figured that would not work anyway, which made me ask the question above about the code - I feel pretty sure they have changed something Iin the code, or elsewhere, but I cant figure out how to mkake it work. THEY will have to tell us HOW I think !!
  20. You should be able to place it anywhere you want on the deck, are you sure you are putting it down as a structure, sitting in the middle it sound s as if its placed as a flyable. (If you place it in the middle over the ships icon thats where it will appear in the game !!) Little Bridge Symbol on the left - Helicopters - Place the Helo - pick the one you want from the drop downs. Link it. Pick the Livery.
  21. The LST's are all gone from the UK now - 1 Aussia copy in Australia and another ex Brit in Brazil. The rest went to scrap I think. The embarked force mess decks on those boats were dreadful, horrible bunks, dodgy air conditioning and really crappy mess rec spaces - a long trip could be a nightmare if they were packed. AND, flat bottoms, so they bounced around - it was like living in a skip.
  22. This a very common problem on imported models. You get extreme versions of it on some models, this is an example of the Garcia which I repainted, the bows are just as bad. From a distance its hardly noticeable but close up it looks quite weird. Hawkeye explained it to me once, he said its caused in 3dmax where the model isnt smoothed, or rounded, before its exported. I cant recollect the exact way he described it but he did fix a couple of mods were doing at the time where this occurred.

  25. Yep, thats it. Make sure you get the link number right and it should work. I dont know about other models though, there could be issues with the ships collision shells etc, that caused problems on some ship models with flight decks.
