If you don't want to flip through presets to find the correct freq just turn to M, clear the freq, input a new freq, click enter. Seems easier unless you already know what presets are where.

I haven't tested it yet, but it may be because the actual aircraft in the DCS/program files folder is listed as FA-18C and NOT FA-18C_hornet.

If they worked right you could leave them in auto. Just open both fully and you'll rarely overheat. Anything else is wrong.

Im having the same problem as Oradan, missing textures on everything, but his fix isn't working for me. It is possible I did something wrong following his fix. Any help would be appreciated. -
Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - Nevada - Round 1

Well, a couple of the BSS guys got together and gifted me Nevada and Normandy. I'll be back in BF and it feels good. Hope to see you guys there. -

I haven't been on in a while due to things at home/work and didn't know of the radar problems. Having said that, other than just seeing what the newer graphics look like, I honestly just have no interest in buying an airforce base. lol I mean, to me it would be like buying Ft Benning for Arma. What, am I going to head out to the range, do some pt, cq and go to chow, maybe hit a strip club? lol :P Well, that sucks... -

So I see BF is on NTTR and Normandy, neither of which I own. For those of us that will probably not buy those two maps, are we just finished with BF or is this temporary? -

I know its been a while now, but if I want to fly blueflag, I have to buy the Nevada map? I really have no interest in buying that and won't. I was just wondering if that is what happened to BF. -

Given your logic, you may as well just use the keyboard -

Are we players saying farewell to the MiG-15 and the Sabre?!
BSS_Sniper replied to Alpenwolf's topic in Multiplayer
You kind of missed the point. Using AI bombers in multiplayer would be fine and doable. He was talking about a general lack of era specific content. The same problem we have for WWII. -

I'm not sure where you got that Korea is hardly known in the US but it sounds more like you meant to yourself than people as a whole. I know more people that know details about the war than those that don't. -
I do and hold an ATP. I have no idea where you are getting your information but you're wrong. Aircraft do weather vane into the wind in flight. I see it all the time. The magnetic heading is almost always different than the ground track.

Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 9

This Each side should have it's own strength and weakness. This whining about balance is childish. Personally, I wish we, red, didn't have the A10. I don't want it. We have the Ka50. If things keep going this way, we are just going to have the same plane set on both sides. I know early on this was the case, but that is absolutely not interesting to me. -

Although not really related but it reminded me...I'd like to see a limit of no closer than 10km to an enemy farp or airfield, for the enemy to be able to place stingers. Let's face it, no one is going to send out a lone soldier with a stinger to sit at the end of an enemy runway. It's just too arcade/gamey and I'd like to see that gone. -

Just FYI for RED side ONI FARP. Group name is Huey but the aircraft is a KA50. I noticed it today. -
No, not really. The POH tells you what you should do for each aircraft. In the 190 pulling the stick to the rear also locks the tailwheel.

You haven't been around for many, if any actual rounds? We do not need to be able to switch every 3 hours. It should be locked for the entire round. People will switch just for the sake of being on the side that is doing better. People will switch for 3 hours to find out what's going on. The regulars and I mean those of us that have been in this for quite some time do not want people switching back and forth. You deal with what you have. If you're outnumbered, you work with it. There is never going to be a balance, even if you could switch at any time. People should at least play for a few real rounds before suggesting this stuff. It's all been said before and after they've been around for a bit, they stop after they realize it takes blueflag in the direction of the 104th, exactly the opposite of what most in here want. -

That's fortunate for you, but some of us aren't that lucky. I love using SRS, I mean for flights, I still use TS at the same time, however, I've stopped using it for now because I have noticed that I crash more often than if I don't use it. There are already enough timeouts or crashes in general in BF and just trying to get into the server sometimes takes 30-60 minutes because of timeouts. I'd really look into my own system if it was just me, but everything I've mentioned happens to more than just a handful of people unfortunately. -

You aren't the only one that's brought this up and it was brought up quite a long time ago. The only ones that seem to be against it are the guys on the blue side, then again, if they want the Su25, they get it, or the Mi8 or no data link for red or... -

You've seen too many movies. lol Targets still have to be visually verified before dropping anything. It's nothing like what happens in BF where some have the coordinates saved and kill a farp or base in minutes without any verification what so ever. It's fly in, slew to mark point, drop, rinse repeat. -

Real world radios, there isn't a one button emergency/whatever you're talking about for guard. You tune a second radio to 121.5 and listen while you're using your main frequency for the flight. If you need to talk on guard then you switch to the radio with 121.5 and talk on it. Also, teamspeak is what anyone should be using for coordination as has been stated so many times. Use SRS when you break off into flights for a mission. -

Would this lobby mode really make much of a difference? I mean, if only the people that aren't actually in an aircraft can hear those in the "lobby mode", it's kind of pointless. -
Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 9
BSS_Sniper replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
Exactly and I've been saying the same thing for months. You can't use SRS alone. SRS is a radio. You can't coordinate when everyone is on a different freq, not to mention you have to be in an aircraft. You have to be on TS along with SRS or you can be on TS alone, but SRS by itself is not enough. There are too many people that have never actually had to use a radio in real life that thinks srs is realistic and refuse to get on TS. If it helps, people go to briefings in real life prior to a mission. They aren't separated and sitting on a radio, they are in the same room coordinating. That's TS. -
Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 9
BSS_Sniper replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
There isn't always just a "fix". While I like srs, it isn't the end all be all. There are people that are having problems that can be fixed. There are others that have problems that seem to be beyond fixing. I've been testing my srs for weeks now. It's causing dcs to crash more often than when I'm not using it. If it comes between being able to fly for any length of time and using srs, I will be flying and using TS instead. SRS isn't going to make or break a team, using comms is and it really doesn't matter what the comms are.
