  1. No, they aren't entirely historical, at least on the P51 side of things. I'm not talking about the octane, I'm talking about the center fuel tank AND the IFF equipment that is mounted behind the pilot. That center tank shouldn't be there if IFF equipment is there. That was a late war, Pacific P-51. The European P-51 should only have the center fuel tank and anyone that is familiar with the P-51 knows that you never fight with fuel in the center tank, because it throws the CG too far to the rear. Why is this important? Ever wonder why our P-51 is always stalling and falling out of the air? it's because even if you don't have fuel in your center tank you still have that IFF radio equipment back there. We have both and we shouldn't. The late war pacific version should only have the IFF equipment. The European P51 should only have a center tank. If/when we get that useless IFF equipment removed, I think people will find the P-51 much easier to fly and a better match for the 109, even without the high octane fuel.
  2. If you or anyone is going to fly on bluflag it's necessary to be on at least ts. One of the most frustrating and annoying things in bf is when someone is not on comms. Coordination is everything in bf and it can't be done unless you can talk to everyone.
  3. You need to be on ts if you're going to be on srs. It's the only way to know if anyone is actually listening to you on srs. We've been doing that since we started using srs. I don't know why people stopped but that's probably why you have no one to talk to. You can at least see who's at least on some sort of comms.
  4. Red has always had communication and coordination even just using TS. Like I said before, the difference now is that most of those regular red players have not been around lately and I think it has a lot to do with this testing taking so long. I don't recognize most names on the red side now and they are the ones, most of them, that aren't even getting on TS.
  5. From what I've seen the main problem, like you said, is that hardly anyone is on comms on the red side. I've also noticed that except for a handful, most people on the red side are new. The normal, regular group I've been used to playing with since round five hasn't been around including myself. I think it has to do with this testing going on for so long. That group always coordinated, worked together and was on comms. As far as srs, there's still a need for ts to at least meet and to have an idea of who is using comms. There were times in earlier rounds that 20+ people were on ts, on one channel and it works fine so your opinion on only using ts isn't really correct. SRS is great but I'm happy if people are on anything even if it's just ts. We've never had a problem with people from the other side sitting on reds channel and listening.
  6. It is, turn it off so it can't be used. Simple.
  7. Unrealistic? What are you basing this on, games/sims or actual flying?
  8. I think it should be left alone. It's rare that canopies are spotless, even if they are cleaned on the ground before flight. I hate it when people want to make things "gamey" because they don't like the dirt.
  9. As far as being spot on...that is exactly the opposite of what one of our members with thousands of hours of tail wheel time says. I'll see if I can get him in here. He flies for a major airline that I won't take the liberty to mention out of respect for him.
  10. That could also vary instrument to instrument and why they didn't implement it.
  11. I use that paddle lever for zoom view where ever and when ever I can. It's great
  12. A lot of people either forget, or don't know about never wanting to fly (actually, I meant fight) with fuel in the center tank of the 51. It throws the CG back and it departs a lot more easily than if you didn't have that weight there. Having said that, the P 51 we have has all that IFF/radio equipment AND the center fuel tank there. It really throws the CG off and it flies like a pig. I won't go into the MP and fuel, but what I mentioned is huge and a reason the 51 here doesn't perform as well as it should.
  13. Within 100 yards is nothing, maybe if you're talking withing 1-5 yards. Anyway, it shouldn't be hard to do with naked eye, but you have a gun sight that can give you that information.
  14. The Huey has both the cargo indicator and camera...unless you mean with vr
  15. I haven't been on since the last round and have been losing interest as well. From having the same aircraft on both sides to "balance" to taking too long between rounds I've just drifted away. It's unfortunate.
  16. The more we do things like that, the more this becomes 104th...
  17. Can't fly much of anything with guns? Yes, the radar is working and locked on the target aircraft. I'm not talking about a huge deflection shot so no, it's not close to 4 G's. Hell, even dead six nothing is hitting. There are 5 of us testing this together on the same server and none of us are getting hits with the piper on the target. I don't mean flying through the target, I mean stabilized on the target. All I wanted to know is if this is happening with other, which it seems to be and when it changed.
  18. One of our guys is having a problem with the F86. We've got a mission we made to practice and the aircraft are hot started on the ramp, ready to go. After he takes off, as soon as he raises the flaps, the plane violently pitches up, goes vertical. Even after trimming all the way nose down, it doesn't help. The stick in game, in the cockpit is neutral. There are no controls doubled up or conflicting. Here's the strange part, this doesn't happen when he flies it offline, just online. Any ideas? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
  19. My group has been flying the F 86 lately and we've all noticed that the gun sight is way off. You can be in a smooth, consistent and easy turn with the piper centered nicely on the enemy aircraft and you won't hit anything. You can be dead 6 or any aspect and the result is the same with any one of us. It wasn't like this in the past. Did something change? Either way, it doesn't really work.
  20. Probably could've done without the snide remark at the end...lol seriously though, I haven't noticed this so I'm off to test. If it is messed up, you can just respawn, so it's not the end of the world
  21. I agree with this, except trying to fool yourself about more sim flight time than a real 109 pilot's actual. No amount of untrained sim time is worth even a single actual flight time by a professional. If you took most of the DCS pilots that aren't actual pilots in real life and put them in a real plane, they'd probably get themselves killed. More bad habits are learned in here if you've never been trained than anything useful.
  22. Leavu did the same thing, sort of and it doesn't pass the check. It uses information that's already in game, not necessarily what's available in each aircraft. It enhances. What I should've asked is, will this give the Ka50 things it doesn't normally have? I mean, if it's stuff from a Ka52 I'd assume that's the case. I'm just wondering.
  23. I'm correct in assuming this won't pass the integrity check for MP?
  24. Don't know but I always thought that manually controlled weapons were meant to be manually controlled.
  25. There's nothing wrong with trying to keep the controls the same as the A20 but you have two problems; You don't know the controls of the A10 because you started with the 51. It doesn't really apply to WWII aircraft. The best thing to do is set up the basic axis and a few others then start flying. Add things as needed. If you don't do it this way, you're going to have all kinds of things mapped that you're never going to use.
