I'm not sure what your problem is with me when i've tried to help or how you can't deduce that if you fly formation during the day using the NATOPS pages I posted, you can see where the formation lights are positioned and translate that into night. Are you really not understanding that?

I guess more to the point, it's still very early and something like this being tweaked is going to happen. They've already mentioned several times working on the FM in different areas.

My guy that flies the Charlies and Supers says he's not seen it on either and that he thinks its from earlier models, so I have no idea. That's what I have to go on. Either way, it seems that if he's never noticed it, it's probably not that important and like mentioned above, not worth the resources to model it.

So you are saying since you think it should happen, even though realistically it doesn't, ED should implement it? I mean, I think the plane should transform into a robot so I can physically capture airfields, but...lol

There are two circular vent holes on the left side of the spine. You aren't always going to see this. It depends on several factors to include humidity. As quoted, "Engine bleed air leaving the turbine compressor travels through a condenser/reheater then into a water extractor, this water is sprayed from a jet ejector in front of the secondary heat exchanger in the LH diverter channel. What you are seeing is simply water vapour." It isn't coming from the actual bleed air vents that are on both sides of the aircraft that look like long slits which is better described as a fuselage boundary layer diverter channel which slows the amount of air reaching the engine. Now that I've speculated, I'm going to ask a friend that flies the legacy and super.

You're looking at abnormal, flight show procedures. Things you wouldn't be doing. I'm guessing it's not really important.

That's not true. FAR Part 91 is 30 min remaining VFR day and 45 night, and 45 min IFR, after reaching the alt. 121 and 135 have stringent requirements as well.

It was answered. If you can see the cues, as shown during the day, it translates to the formation strips. Did you come in here just to yell at everyone? lol

It's something myself and other pilots noticed and hate, that 1 knot change in speed changes the rate of climb or descent way too drastically.

Nav lights are used at all times, as is the beacon. Obviously it will change in a combat environment once you reach a certain point.

When the lights are off, during the day, you are looking down the leading edge of your flight lead's wing. The only difference is if you're in a parade formation or cruise formation. The distance changes, but being inline with the leading edge does not. I forgot to post the page with the Cruise Formation diagram on it. I'll get it on here today. Actually, the angle is a little different in Cruise. Here's the NATOPS diagram...

Off the top of my head I’d say you were but I don’t know the zero fuel weight. I should look that up.

Did you land at or under 33,000 lbs? Just wondering.

I know the NATOPS says use 12 NU for land take offs, but I find following the carrier take off trim procedures/weight seems to work better. I hope it's just an early release thing that is causing this, meaning that 12 NU doesn't work well for a loaded down F18 taking off from a runway.

Did you set up your controls in F18 Sim or F18 Game?
