Happy Birthday and strength when dealing with impatient customers :-)

How can I tell whether the enemy, which is painting me with his radar, actually sees me on screen? I mean, the SPO Beryoza, probably, gives warning of radar illumination before the enemy can actually see me right? So how can I tell whether he sees me or not? Is it possible, perhaps, to tell by the circular indicator which tells the emitters power by lighting up notches?

Are there any home on Jam missiles in DCSW? Or I can safely leave my ECM on, while engaging SAMS?

Can online missions be flown offline?
Gloom Demon replied to Gloom Demon's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
WOW, Great - I'll try that, thanks a lot! -
And the nonVip ones vibrate at 270?

When I fly a mission online, does the DCSW download it to some location on my hard drive, from which I can save it and fly offline later, or is the mission stored on the server and there is no way to do that?

Where are Air Defense characteristics in lua files?
Gloom Demon replied to Gloom Demon's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
The Sam vehicles files in the Database directory do not mention anything about actual weapon ranges - only sensors. -
What is the Klyon laser range?
Gloom Demon replied to Gloom Demon's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Yep - it works, thanks :-) -
Other than the one Motor Sich showed at the Aviasvit 2010, I would guess two... or three :D But that does not make the Mi-8MSB not a serial chopper. I'm not a big helicopter guru, but I would presume that the flight manual recommendations are based on safety concerns and most real world hardware can easily outperform them.

How far apart should the elements of a SAM group be spaced in order for them to be integrated. I mean how far can a launcher be from a radar in order for it to receive targeting data? Is this distance any different for different SAM systems? Is this information written down somwhere? Some .lua files, perhaps?

SU-25 & SU-25T Laser Differences?
Gloom Demon replied to Lanzfeld's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I have noticed, that when I do strafing in the Su-25T, the aiming piper changes it's location on the HUD, once I turn on the laser. So, I would guess, that with the laser turned on it should be more accurate... -
The first serial Mi-8MSB has been rolled out in September, 2013 by the Orsha Aviaremontniy zavod - I believe it's that aircraft repair plant Motor Sich bought in Byelorus a couple of years ago. One must underdstand, though, that record-breaking aircraft are usually tuned up a bit. I would presume, that at 9 km. one would need an oxygen mask, at the very least.

What is the Klyon laser range?
Gloom Demon replied to Gloom Demon's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Bu guiding you mean keeping the slew box on the target? -
There are different modifications of the Mi-8 with very different characteristics- keep that in mind. A Mi-8MTV with ukrainian ТВЗ-117ВМА-СБМ1В engines manufactured by Motor-Sich reached 8100 meters in 2010. In 2013 the Mi-8MSB with the same engines reached 9150 meters which is higher than Everest.

What is the Klyon laser range?
Gloom Demon replied to Gloom Demon's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Ok, I'll try that. But is it necessary for the target to be locked on by Shkval? Or I can simply point the slew box to the target with the maximum precision and the Klyon will illuminate in that direction? -
SA-8 capable of firing right after stop?
Gloom Demon replied to Gloom Demon's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Ok, Thanks :-) -
How far away can a target be for the Su-25T Klyon laser to be able to effectively illuminate it? For example if the maximum range for firing the X-25ML from a low altitude is 8 km, however, when firing it from a high altitude, the range rises to 20 km (from the missiles_data.lua). Will the Klyon be able to work at such a distance?

Where are Air Defense characteristics in lua files?
Gloom Demon replied to Gloom Demon's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
So I should look in the Database subdirectory? -
Wikipedia states, that the SA-8 Gecko is capable of firing within 4 minutes after coming to a stop. However a column of these, which i tried engaging, while they were on the move, managed to open fire right after stopping with no apparent pause. Is this a bug? "Time to prepare for engagements from being in transit is around 4 minutes and missile reloading takes around 5 minutes." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SA-8

What does the Stinger Com unit do - resupply adjacent Stinger units?

Where are Air Defense characteristics in lua files?
Gloom Demon replied to Gloom Demon's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Flagrum Thanks - I will give it a try. Grimes I was actually thinking more about the actual engagement envelope for SAM missiles, not about detection ranges. For example, knowing that the effective range of the FIM-92C Stinger is 4500 meters I can rest assured, that when I attack a carrier with a Vikhr, I have the time to turn around and evade any Stinger launched at me by that carrier without any risk of being shot down. Or that using a Vikhr against 2 nearly spaced Roland ADS units is suicidal - the second one will always get me. Also, knowing that information will allow me to create SAM sights with overlapping engagement envelopes, so, for example, an IR SAM is no longer a sitting duck, because it is protected by a Roland. Is the data from DCS World\Scripts\Database\vehicles\SAM applicable in this case, or where should I search further? -
What HAWK SAM is modeled in DCSW?
Gloom Demon replied to Gloom Demon's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Wrecking Crew Thanks for the insight :-) That still does not explain why there is no CWAR or ROR radar in DCSW... -
ALOJES Great, thanks! :-)
