  1. Rather spiffy eh? Jolly good old chap.
  2. 4 times is a charm ;) ... much more fluid now, good!
  3. Cool addition to the Dora paint schemes ... good luck!
  4. Nice colour palette on this one, I like it. Also really dig your "Gelbe 11".
  5. That is true, besides I couldn't do it any better. I found the book on Amazon.com, and will order it when I'm traveling stateside in october. Time for some goods tax evasion lol
  6. Be brave, little bit more above the Balkenkreuz like in the photo :D It's your artwork though, and I see you keep close to the artwork in the book ...
  7. Lovely, good luck this time :D
  8. Ah, he mentioned in PM that he recommended one of Axel Urbanke Verlag's books to you. Thanks, we like your little paintscheme quests ;)
  9. Nice book. Which one is it, written by Jerry Crandall?
  10. Well documented D-9. Thank you markusha.
  11. I would go for more dot pattern grey above the 8 and Balkenkreuz, making it appear less like a straight line division between grey and green. On the photo there is almost no green in that rear area. There also appears to be a lot of black soot behind the engine. I really like that dirty look.
  12. Hmmm ... not a fan of the straight line division between green and grey. I would go for less green on top behind the canopy.
  13. In the end you overdid the weathering (especially for a Stab plane), too bad. Solid effort though
  14. No. Horridly modern cockpit and I doubt the overall quality.
  15. I hope Wags will address this is in his next "speech".
  16. You are assuming this? The bit in Russian mentions they were made for 777 Game Studios (IL2: BoS). Before new planes are being added to the theater, we need a theater to play in ("What about the map?").
  17. Damn Joey, you must be a telepath ... Morricone's masterpiece has been in my head since yesterday! Of course it was heavily inspired by Wagner's signature "Leitmotiv"; each character in a story having it's own musical theme. These tracks are so powerful that even Metallica opens with them since long ("The Ecstasy of Gold").
  18. After mostly failed landing attempts in the Dora (can easily do it with autorudder and 0% assist) I revisited the Mustang out of sheer frustration ... and found it almost childishly easy to land. Take-off, same story. The damage model of the Mustang also looks more forgiving. It flips over and catches fire, leaving you plenty of time to bail out and walk away unscathed. Whereas the Dora ... it flips over and explodes instantly. I find it harder to believe it's just the learning curve.
  19. Just wow ... love the excessive weathering! It really makes you take a closer look at the plane's details. So many talented guys here
  20. I'm glad you're using the word might ... you chose an obscure plane to skin! If it really was Oberfeldwebel Werner Zech's Dora, he was shot by British FLAK and while evading this accidentally flew through some treetops. He abandoned the mission, flew back and made an emergency landing at Twente/Twenthe airfield (the Netherlands). This was all during "Operation Bodenplatte". Not sure if he was part of JG 26 or 54 then. source: http://wingstovictory.nl/database/pdf/476-story.pdf I'm glad I'm not the only one who sucks at take-off :D
  21. This is sad news. What happened to him? I hope he passed away peacefully and is soaring the blue skies.
  22. Sounds great ... beautiful and haunting at the same time. Thanks! Yes, metal is so underrated. It's like classical music. Ah, Evergrey! (my phone app, Tapatalk, didn't show that video for some reason) Nothing beats "Solitude Within" in my opinion.
  23. Just watched the "November release" trailer and after 2 days in bed with a fever and without food that is the best medicine. Almost as iconic as Star Wars ... call me sentimental.
  24. And since he also used 1.5 the thickness of the original in his experiment, the original refraction (distance) would have been much less.
