This is an awesome idea. Not sure but it may make tanking a bit easier, as the boom can follow you more naturally... Unless the boom operator sucks... then I may have a broken canopy and missing panels :) Only thing I'm afraid of is someone getting in there and "fooling around"

If the aircraft pass ED's quality checks, I have a good enough feeling that they will be fantastic. Haven't seen a bad module yet

Well I must say, its going to be an exciting time for flight sims. There never have been this many additions, Hawk, Sabre, Mig21, Dora, Edge, to DCS in such a short time period. I wish all the developers luck, and hope they get a fair return for their dedication and hard work. I will probably end up buying all of the modules eventually, but Mig21 is #1 on my list :)

GGTharos, what do you do for a living? You know a little about everything for every classified system! Even the radar stuff ive read from you. Unless what you do is classified

I have the same x52 and pedals as you. I do not have any curves set but I did reduce the throw for rudder trim... The rotary knobs are extremely sensative, and will often cause the actual trim wheel in the aircraft to spasm around. Therefore I set the elevator trim and aileron to the hat switch, like the a10 has it. For the rudder trim, i have it set to the smaller wheel. But i found that it was too sensitve, so i cut the throws in half. If i turn the thumb wheel all the way to the right, i will get only 5 degrees of rudder movemen to the right, and max 5 to the leftt. THis is okay because thats the max i will ever use, and only use it on take off. But even with the reduced sensitivity, it still spasms mildly in the cockpit, (but i cannot notice it in flight).. My advice would be to move the elevator trim to a hat. Like I mentioned earlier, i don't have any curves for the flight stick. Once you get comfortable, you will find that you can be plenty smooth without curves. THats just my opinion, i know some like curves, but I never have used them for any aircraft. Hope this helps

"Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System"
ff4life4 replied to Flagrum's topic in Military and Aviation
IIRC the Laser degree narrows during the missiles flight, in order to keep the missile accurately on target. Because if it didn't there was no way to have any kind of accuracy if the beam was that wide at 9 km -
If I recall correctly, I played a mission (159th server??) where the enemy had a ground commander and was moving the vehicles and driving them personally. Now that was very satisfying to do, as he would duck in and around buildings and such, and I had to time when to fire so it would get there when he was exposed.

I have found for me, that it is easier to land with a little bit of power on. I can land almost completely bounce free when I do this. As just make it over the runway im at about 95mph, and I touchdown at 90. When I chop the throttle I always have a much rougher landing. The Mustang just comes with time. It has little idiosyncrasies that once you understand and have a feel for, it really gets a lot of fun to fly. Also for bomb and rocket take offs, I usually add one notch of flaps. And generally I don't like to gun the throttle on take off, ever. I know the manual says 3000 rpm and 61 manifold, however I will usually do 3000 rpm and something like 30 inches at start, and once im moving ill slowly add power to 45 inches. Seems to help keep the torque and p-factor effects down to a more controllable level. Also I have rudder pedals and found they are a huge help. I usually try to make very fast corrections, using a decent amount of control deflection. You cannot allow the nose to start wandering very far off the centerline, as it will it can be very difficult to recover I've found. I do quick rudder movements to immediatly counter anything. Say nose starts to wander left, I kick right rudder about 25% for a short period, then do left, and so on. All of the stuff is just things that I have found to help. These probably arent the politically correct answers but it keeps me from blocking the runway :)

According to the website, what is shown here is less than 1% of the attacks that they pick up

Won't be home until Thursday night, but the test and posting the results will be the first thing I do!

Hm mixed responses. Ill have to try and set up a test for this somehow. Maybe set a Tor somewhere and fly an identical approach to it with ecm on/off and see what range it is before lock, missile fire, and shootdown.

Are the jammer pods effective at all in this? I feel like all they do is take a spot away from a GBU-12. I understand that ECM in DCS works nothing like in real life, but I feel like it has absolutely no function against radar sams. They seem to engage and fire the same whether I turn ECM on or not. Does anyone have any details on this? Thanks

Ill be looking forward to the live stream on Friday, only 3 days to go :)))))

I apologize if this has already been asked, but I cannot go through 500+ pages lol. How will the performance of this game be vs, the current? Im happy with my i7 3770 and GTX 660, but cannot upgrade for some time. I hope it will be like arma 2 and arma 3, where I had the same performance with better graphics

Well what Im concerned with if it was a scam, this could happen in the future again. I wonder if ED should make some kind of statement saying only support the ones that they announce here?

https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/dcs-world-ac-130u-spooky-ii#comments Project I just found, and haven't seen anything on here about it:huh: Dunno if this is for real or what Edit: Not to be rude if this is actually something real, I don't want to offend anyone. But I just am skeptical of it. Edit 2: I just noticed it expired 2 days ago. Idk if they were serious about it why didn't they post here? Edit 3: I also noticed it was the flexible funding schedule, which means they keep all the money, reguardless of if they achieved their goal, even more weird

Public inquiry. What is your PC video card?

GTX 660... Does anyone know how the performance of EDGE will be compared with the current. I hope its similar to Arma where I gained fps from arma 2 to arma 3 :) -
Thank you guys. That clears it up!

Side question... Is there any difference between AFM and PFM. In Belsimtek's website, they mentioned the F15 project and they called it AFM there... Is the difference in name only? Or is the f15 flight model more accurate than A10c, Su25 etc
-
Ditto, I feel that this project has been anything but a smooth ride.. But Im really looking forward to the fantastic work they have done.

 I thought that the FW-190 was released as a Beta today. Not as just the pre-purchase. Nevermind:crash:
-
I wonder if the release of the FW-190 has any impact on the release of this. I am surpised they didn't combine them into one update.

I was flying this F15. I only hit "G" one time when I was landing when I dropped the gear. When I hit the deck after repairing, I was royally confused. I checked the the landing gear lever was in the down position. I don't really know what happened. All I know was that the plane was really messed up after getting hit by the missile. Every system was down minus the two engines. The other odd thing was after I got hit my airbrake when up and I couldn't get it down.

Im pretty sure when you flip that switch it stops the pylons from moving. That or there is another switch to the left of the Laser on/off that is also another switch tat may affect it.
