I was wondering which Team you gents over at LNS might be pulling for, but the mystery is over! :) Once again, thanks a million to LNS for all the support

Attention Pilots! I'm excited that we are nearly 24 hours away from round 2 going live! At this time we need to elect team Captains for both teams. This can be accomplished by simply volunteering in a reply to this post or nominating by posting with who you would like to see as your teams captain. Obviously any nominee with more than 3 votes will be elected! Only replies from pilots on tomorrow's roster will be considered of course!

LNS has only indicated that the Viggen is relatively close, and in big picture of multi year in depth development, "close" could means months at least. Nick has never to my knowledge stated the Viggen was "almost here (along with 2 other modules)" so that is a bit of hyperbole. They aren't showing screenshots yet because I think LNS wants to shock and excite the community to the maximum extent possible when we finally get that pre-release preview, and have as little time possible between feature reveal and release. I for one appreciate this, as it really is a first in DCS, and I appreciate their commitment to making the aircraft as complete as possible on release! Once it is out, we will totally forget about these trying times ;) Remember if it wasn't for that Steam leak we would all still be speculating, and LNS would be working just the same.

Thanks for the update, Cobra! I know I'm looking forward to the Viggen, as are 10 pilots this Saturday I suspect :) Darn, now we can't use the "2 weeks" thing anymore?

Interesting... Working OK on my end. Maybe try wiping the module and reinstalling to see if that fixes it? Sometimes things get messed up during patching

I've been flying this with pals, we are gearing up for a dynamic sort of campaign were each airframe lost and such will go against the total we have aboard the carrier. It's been a blast using this mod especially in VR, and I was really sad to learn Lilkiki had passed away. I sure wish some of Lilkiki's work could be incorporated by ED as a tribute of sorts!

I would say it is pretty likely that we will see DCS F-16 or AH-64A/D from ED after the Hornet. I do not think this is dependent on outside contracts- the F-18C was not done for an outside contract to my knowledge yet it is being offered up as a featue of TBS. I anctipate TBS will benefit from DCS development as much as it is the other way around

I think this may just be the limitation of the radar. While it is superior to say the MiG 21s in the sense that information is more easily interpreted and the scan zone is more forgiving, I think it is less able to make a lock on smaller contacts. Hopefully this is realistic behavior but it seems believable

I was wondering about if the Mistral was all-aspect now. Haven't got To test yet but sounds like something may have gone awry with the patching. Is the crash of DCS still present when crashing the Mistral Gazelle?

Makes since! That's why I've probably seen as much using gear like the PVNS 14s with the Army

You can see the range finder with NVGs??? Must test this! Also from my US Army infantry experience, many laser range finders that use infrared is usually visible in some form under NVG- and some non-infared ones that would otherwise be hard to see with regular eye are visible in some form. I've often wondered if the Gazelles ranging laser should look like the A-10Cs or MQ Predators. Seen those in real life and it's awesome. Where the Gazelle is concerned is if the range device is infrared, and to that I do not know the answer

It guides beautifull on 1688, per my MP mission I hosted with friends a few days ago. I'll test ASAP to see if other codes work

Its an ongoing thing, and real pilots would never try such a thing. Extreme envelope maneuvers are always extremely hard to represent in a sim simply for lack of data. Even several multi million dollar grade sims did not represent extreme envelope Behaivor realistically. Heck, some of the Helicopter sims I've been in with the Army didn't even have flight models as good as the Helos in DCS. Sim aviation has reached amazing heights, so let's give Razbam credit and time.

You guys may have trouble believing such a rare breed exists... by my wife actually likes messing with sims with me... LOL Every time I tell a sim buddy as much they don't believe it until they have seen it with their own eyes! I actually took her for a flight in the Gazelle last night, letting her sit in the right seat using the Rift, and she had a blast blowing things up with the TOWs. Thanks to this I am free to binge away on the Gazelle and it's like. I'm lucky I reckon!
