  1. Awesome Hawkeye! I've had a bit of a brain storm of making an actual variant of this, based on the fictional adoption of the airframe by the U.S. Army, and I'm rather excited about it :) I'll send a PM to you
  2. I will toss together a JSGME version of both my sort of plausible Hellfire mod as well as a separate dump of weapons to try for fun per what Hawkeye is working on, unless Hawkeye would prefer to do that himself! No intention to steal your thunder, Hawkeye :) On my end I'm focusing on making a Hellfire mod with 2 missile and 4 missile racks mountable to the outside pylons only, and repositioned properly. As soon as I get home tonight I'll put that JGSME together and post!
  3. One application I could see for this is allowing another player to sit in the back of a Huey, or even at a gunner seat, but I imagine getting them able to use a gun would certainly require SDK access
  4. Hello Markindel I'm a massive fan of yours and Stonehouses mods and I've learned a lot of my own modding from studying them. Would you mind if I opened a "Markidels Mod List" thread and created a master list with links, screens and info regarding all your mods released to date? I will gladly maintain the list, I know you are busy and that is time consuming but I would love for your mods to get more exposure! Just wanted to get permission before doing so. Additionally would you mind if I put together themed mod packs containing all your WW2 units in one pack, and all your Naval units in another (and so on) in JGSME format? All credit goes to you of course, but I could put them on the thread as well to save users time.
  5. I'll keep experimenting and report back to ya, Hawkeye So far I've confirmed the Hellfire, BGM 71s, Vikhrs and Shturns all mount, fire and guide correctly. Some of them don't look right and clip through the model, but it seems any ATGM from a chopper will work on the Gazelle! Only thing is you have to wait until the last round has hit or cut the line to a new pilot to fire another one For rocket pods- I'm finding in the M gazelle you can only fire one rocket at a time and then there is a delay until it hits. You also have no reliable way to aim. I did loa S-24 heavy rockets and they all fired well and made a big boom :) Really excited the Gazelle is so versatile modding wise- I always have a lot of fun making discoveries and trying crazy loud outs- eventually I will try to find some believable mod load outs to push out in a mod like I have with my L-38ZA and M-2000 upgrade mods, as usually I try to push out weapon mods that are somewhat possible, but in the mean time it's a lot of fun to experiment! Definitely check out those Hellfires while your at it, Poly! It's been my favorite so far and it's super cool to have a gazelle with 8 of those bad boys hangin off the pylons! I massacred a convoy with em last night :) Once I figure out how to tweak there position just a tad so they look mounted all proper, I'll post the code for it here
  6. First post updated with Raw Upload of match- Highlight reels coming soon! For those who have asked, there will be a round 3! Stay tuned for that later in the year.
  7. Still can be downloaded- I found the link but I will put up a DB download from my DB. I dunno if the vehicles still work but I will do some testing, would be cool to get them working again! Edit* Here ya go https://www.dropbox.com/s/19g94ast3a8i7zx/beczl_Vehicle_Upgrade_Pack_%201.zip?dl=0
  8. Yea I would agree, it seems highly rhetorical... Polychop has acknowledged work needs to be done which is good enough for me, so if information like this needs to be relayed then a bug report and sending the vid to Polychop is the best course of action IMO
  9. Haha- prepare to do a spin after firing one of those puppies! I am trying to get the Hellfire's to were they look like they belong on the pylons, and if/when I figure out how to do it maybe we should post it up on the Mod forums- I think some pilots would like the extra firepower to have fun with. I've played around with the line I posted but doesn't seem to be working- I might head over to the how-to forums
  10. Hahaha I'll take the blame. Hellfires on the Gazelle not only look awesome but actually work! Pretty amazed! I am going to have fun playing around. Now I think there is a way to move a store using cord pos on aircraft with some type of argument value. I will look around to see what I can find out. The cannon switch doesn't work sadly, was worth a try! EDIT- As far as moving stores around so they look correct- Couldn't some variation of this line be used? ,attach_point_position = {-0.007, 0.05, -1.55}, (different cords for each pylon of course!) I feel like that is the right track but no luck yet...
  11. Wow! Ok now THIS is cool!!! Not only do these 4x racks of Hellfires mount up, but they actually fire and correctly track! https://s9.postimg.org/tzp78oh4v/Screen_161001_204933.jpg' alt='Screen_161001_204933.jpg'>image hosting over 5mb[/img]
  12. Cool stuff, Hawkeye! I am experimenting now- Check this out: image hosting 10mb limit The M-151 rocket pod not only mounts to the L version, but fires and shows up the ammo count on the display! The only thing is I either need to find out how to move it's position up to cover the SNEB pod, or make the SNEB pod dismount when the M151 or another weapon is mounted... Any ideas?
  13. Real world aviator here- No... No helicopter would fly like a laser with stability systems off, and hands off the controls. I've not flown the Gazelle, but I've flown helicopters of comparable size and due to atmospheric factors and physics it just wouldn't happen and I think you know as much, but if you didn't there is you answer. What this thread strikes me as is again another thread searching for a response from Polychop. The issue I have is Polychop has stated many times the FM is a work in progress. There are no SFMs for DCS helicopters, and they have to be made from the ground up. As such that takes a lot of work and time, as the physics involved are incredibly complex. They are working on it, but I'm reaching a point were I am wondering if there is continued benefit on making new threads for every single issue. Filling out a bug report and posting your findings to one of the pre-existing bug threads seems like a good idea. I do find the title of this thread and video to strike me as a bit sarcastic or rhetorical
  14. Ahhh.. I see. Yes good point, I forgot the cannon isn't removable and therefor is not treated as a gun pod on a pylon, but rather an intergrated Cannon. Now the Rocket pot is removable and therefore maybe I can substitute another pod and see how that behaves.... Or... S-24 on a Gazelle? You thought the current rocket pod had a kick to it :) LOL Thanks for the info tho! Caliber tweaks may be interesting as I personally think the 20mm in the sim now is a bit underperforming. Even at a full kilometer away a 20mmX102 cartridge should be able to penetrate 10mm BTR armor easily
  15. Day 1 buy thanks to my experience with the Gazelle... Cannot wait, Polychop!
  16. This has me wondering... Are there any other cannons and rocket pods in the sim that could be attached to the L version and if so could they be made to fire?
  17. Hey regarding this- If you emergency launch override and fire the missile with a max range lock (30KM) you the missile will go active and score a kill! BVR in a Fishbed!
  18. Shouldn't break expanding the stores options- such as adding twin ejectors to stations were Only single were allowed before- that's the only mod I make these days. I do miss adding AIM-9a and the twin AIM-9 racks, but the improved Magic IIs made loosing that sting less
  19. Thanks for the reply Poly, totally agree- the negativity needs to be dropped. Flight model programming is immensely complex, just based on the very nature of aerodynamics. I'm a real world pilot, with reasonable amount of time in "light" helicopters and even though the Gazelles FM ain't perfect it's very good and delivers the feel of flying a real world helicopter. Ease up and let the guys work, the issues are acknowledged. Actual bug reports- good! Tireless debate and reputation- bad...
  20. Good to know, thanks!
  21. Hey Markindel, Lastest ship work is looking awesome! Question regarding your P-38D Mod. I was hoping to enjoy it some more today but when I loaded it up all controls are unresponsive and even the keyboard doesn't respond to escape or anything. Have any idea how I may be able to correct? Assuming it's due to latest version ***EDIT I found a way to fix this. I know this may not be the best method so Markindel feel free to correct me- This will fix it for any users having my issue in the mean time. I think the latest update broke the controls, so what I did was go into C:\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\P-38D Lightning\Input\P-38D and deleted all the folders, leaving only name.lau. I then went to C:\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\P-51D\Input\P-51D and copied over all those input folders into C:\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\P-38D Lightning\Input\P-38D. I had to rebind a few things but it works now!
  22. Just in case you didn't know Lilkiki has sadly passed away since this mod was released :( He did great work!
  23. I don't think your really understanding what I said... I said the MiG 21 was above my expectation as to what level of fidelity a 3rd party release could achieve, particularly for the first time... No one is saying that other devs shouldn't strive for that, or that it is impossible to hope for that in any way, I literally was implying the MiG 21 was the Gold Standard, but certainly not impossible for other 3rd parties But this topic isn't about the MiG, it's about the Viggen, so we are digressing a bit... Back to the Viggen!
  24. I respect VEAO and they have worked very hard to get the Hawk up to the level they always intended it to be. I was on the closed testing team for the Hawk and I was really impressed with their professionalism. Sure the Hawk had some bumps, but it was their first release and such bumps are understandable. The MiG 21 was above and beyond what anyone expected for a third party, in my opinion. To this day the fidelity of the aircraft, particularly in the visual department is unmatched. That isn't to say the products from other 3rd parties, even ED aren't good, they are wonderful, but the MiG 21 is just a work of art. Knowing all this has me so unbelievably stoked for the Viggen I am beside myself. The MiG is my favorite module, not so much because it's the MiG 21 (although it's an awesome plane) but because of the actual product. It's funny that LNS went forward with an aircraft that only a year ago I barely knew existed, and now a year later I can't stop searching for information about this plane. All in all I agree, we have had awesome aircraft releases from the active 3rd parties with a few hiccups here and there, but personally I think the Viggen is going to take 3rd party releases to a whole new level. Worth every second of the wait.

    Payload Mod

In a perfect world, what I would like to accomplish is to somehow import the ELINT pod mode ONLY into another aircraft, leaving the other avionics in place. In other words you hit a key to enter ELINT mod, the normal HUD is replaced by the ELINT SU-25T Display, you fire the weapons then exit the mode. I had this especially in mind for the M2000C to simulate the ARMAT missile, but if this is possible or not is something I'm still working on determining.
