Lets not mention that my PC is struggling with existing models - please NO ADDITIONAL polys, no need for overdoing it :) Just make >20 MP flawless, dedi server and tweak AI so it will be able to find alternative routes and use some sense. No more search radar on Vulcan and Shilka and similar silliness :) Fix damage models for ships, vehicles and bunkers, so you cannot sink Kuznecov with Vikhrs or RBK's, and SEAD missile should hit antennae, not center of gravity, anti-RWY boms should make longer lasting damage --- lets make some use out of all those beautiful bombs :) And no need for highly detailed vehicles - I don't care about whether nuts and bolts and handles are visible or not :)

  3. Maybe on w7 there is the same issue as on XP that concerns Regional settings for non-unicode porgrams?     Well, I had to ask because some time ago a buddy of mine was accused of chaff hack. Since I know that he does not posses skills needed to implement any hack of any kind, and that he does have a bad connection, I fellt it was important to accentuate that acmi alone cannot be take as a proof of anything. Rather, as a starting point for curiosity :) As for the topic at general, I feel that it is very important to dicuss any possibility of cheating. Please, do not jump at the people that are suspicious of cheating. That will not help them to understand all quirks of the LOFC and recognize true cheaters :)

    No, no... What I mean is that server receives corrupted data from one client (due to his bad connection) and distributes it around in such form (as received - corrupted). All of the other clients will receive same data from the server only. Such data will be corrupted in relation to the "source" client, but OK in relation to server (as they are carbon copies, created by the server). In effect, if one client has acmi with over-chaffing, it is very likely that all clients - expect suspected player - will record an acmi with over-chaffing. Therefore, only acmi recording that can act as a proof is the one recorded by the suspected player (source client), not by the server or other clients. But, any track can be taken as a proof.

    But, from what I have understood, if a clients acmi receives data from a servers acmi, then an error will be more or less consistently distributed over the network. Therefore, large number of clients acmies are NOT the stronger proof as they are only "copies" of the servers acmi, which is incorrect in the first place, no? Such acmies only prove that those clients have a good connection with the server :) So, a track would be the most reliable proof, preferably more then two tracks of the event in qustion.

    Yeah, I know that tacview does not record perfectly. I just need a clear confirmation in relation to chaff recordings :) I'm not expert in LUA, so I do not know how one clients tacview communicates with server and other clients. For example, if player has bad connection with server, server could incorrectly receive his data and forward such (incorrect) data to other clients?

    I have to ask for a confirmation on something... Number of chaffs in tacview's recording does NOT always relate to actual number of chaffs dispensed and/or/nor number of chaffs in track recording?
  11. Those are server side messages and chats. Press CTRL+M for chat window and use mouse (drag) to adjust height of this space.
  12. beczl, you will have to leave horizontal stabilizer on, for given damage level - that was a pic AFTER the landing, and I do not think you can land MiG-21 without horiz stab :) buddy of mine reported only "very difficult handling".

We have tried to run our own server, we have collected money and parts, its right behind me, but the costs for decent Internet connection in my country are horrible - monthly around half of my paycheck for the slowest option! We cannot afford it. Suggestions like that are like putting salt on the open wound. Look, I was not very keen about LOMAC until FC came out with Su-25T. And, to use Frost1e's metaphor, there are fish in the game, and there is a magnum... In fact, both 1.12 and DCS are all about the magnum vs fish :)
  14. If I may suggest sourceforge and SVN? Its great for collaborative work and you can always let people download the latest stable and working versions without much hassle or any need to pack files, although you may choose to pack files as well. You can keep track of versions and in case of any problems revert your work in a sec. That also enables users to choose older versions (for comparison or alike). I used it for some projects of mine and it is very simple to work with. I can help you setting up the SVN.
  15. Well, this is a general plea. Having any kind of LOFC server is great, but having no a2g server at all is not good. And whether or not a2g missions are like your metaphore, it depends on the mission. When ground units are set up as dead fish on purpose, like on a2a servers, then I have to agree with you. But, with a complex a2g mission, thats another story.
  16. Good joke, but I do not see how it is related to my suggestion. Lets go back to the topic :) There are too few ground targets to have long periods of a2g fun. Sometimes, its not even liable to fly a bomber if there are fighters on the other side. a2g is more like a sandbox. As for interest, there are many people with high a2g (and only a2g) scores on your own server. On a few occasions there were 6-8 people happily flying with bombers only, and all of them either disconnected or switched once a guy with a fighter appeared. And I was not the only one to complaint that "a fighter ruined all the fun". While there was TUAF-II, it had about 20 regular guests, and there was quite intense competition. You can ignore, but no one can dispute that there are people interested into (fixed-wing) a2g :)
  17. I would like to ask owners of most popular HL servers if there is any chance to host a2g oriented missions? Current missions either do not have enough ground targets, or have to many fighter slots available. Also, in some missions, bombers are positioned too far behind the frontline and one has to fly more then 30 minutes to the combat zone. I hope someone will be able to run a2g missions like those from DFA and TUAF-II with hundreds of targets, where 10-20 people can "work" for few hours. Thanks in advance

Correct explanation should be that "Duration" is the timeframe during which a failure could occur. That is not clearly described anywhere, and the layout in ME forces you to think that "Duration" is the time during which the failure will be in effect, after which a failure will be removed. That is very logical to anyone that actually uses English lang. The problem is (again) that Russian translation into English is rather poor. Not all parts are on the same level of quality, and some parts are translated using quite simple dictionary. In this case, "Timeframe" would be more preferable term than "Duration".
  22. I've read the annoucement about this, and there was some discussion about it here, but I would like to ask (again?) about some things that are of special interest to me and my buddies... We are interested into cockpit building, and it looks like Physical Cockpit Interface Package (PCIP) module is the answer? Will this modul be available to general public? If not, why do I need to do get my hands on it :) PS - No speculations please...
  23. :D Oh, I fogot to mention another achivement by ZaltysZ - INTERNATIONAL FONTS support. Currently, DCS fonts support only Russian cyrillic and big nations latin fonts. Thanks to ZaltysZ, who created an application that converts any TTF font to TGA font used by DCS (together with TXT files that are needed to make TGA fonts work), we can now use almost any existing codepage :D Here is a small example of Polish chars. It is a mission translation by Boberros...
  24. Thanks to one more crucial effort by ZaltysZ, now it is possible for us to expand the list of available cockpit languages! His work enabled additional cockpit lang for cockpit tooltips (hints). I hope that soon we will be able to actually add NEW language to i10n folder, instead of currect replacement of Russian with own lang. See attached screenie and our forum: Cockpit language ... and give ZaltysZ some kudoz (any post from above). As for other developments, Croatian GUI is finished, most of Polish is done by Boberro, and he also translated most of the missions to Polish. Cheers!
