Here it is, yet you cannot be sure. If you open the box, you could find out that the DVD is not there. But, how can you be sure that your curiosity did not make it dissapear :music_whistling: There are to many guessworks. Much more is happening on the Russian side of the forum, but my Russian is next to horrible - by the time I reach end of the article, I forgot what was on the begining of it :joystick:

Jeez! What, they sail 10 copies a year in Santa Maria? But, yes, CIS price is for CIS market. Russian FC is less then 10 EUR. I just hope that, in case I will not be albe to buy Russian DCS, I will not have to pay a price adjusted to spending rates in EU. As I said before, there are more people outside of EU, and even more of them are with average incoms comparable to Russian.

Btw, there is much more info in Russian part of this site, than it is related here... As for price: Recommended price by 1C: Jewel DVD box (DVD only) - 440 rubles DVD box (DVD and quick start manual) - 720 rubles But, I cannot find their price for download version. Any clue?

Adding a keyboard layout, if thats what you had on your mind, is not the same as changing Regional setting. It will just enable you to write in Russian. My Regional setting were Croatian. RU FC wouldn't start even if I change into English. I had to change into Russian, and so had to be done my two buddies that also have RU FC. As PC is personal computer, each setup is different and some people may experience such problem. I just wanted to explain why it happens and why it could influence other applications.

At one time I had installed 2 versions of LO (1+1 RU) and 4 of FC (3+1 RU). Each run without any problems, with individual graphic settings and such stuff. No problems with SF if correct CD was inserted. Each version did not have own 7-day time frame. Rather, 7-day countdown started from the day of last check, regardles of EN/RU version. Looks like SF setting are shared to some extent. Currently I have 1+1 FC (bought english recently).

I borrowed English FC from a friend and installed it, parallel to my Russian installation of FC. SF does not allow starting of Russian FC with English CD, nor starting English FC wiht Russian CD.

There could be an issue running it on Western or any other non-Russian Windows OS. Following is based on my experience with a Russian version of FC. In order to make FC run, I had to change regional settings for non-unicode applications in Control Panel into Russian. Without that, FC will not start, even thou FC disc will pass SF check. Also, if not done prior to FC installation, during the installation process you will see question marks instead of letters. You can install FC without changing above, but FC itself will not run. When above setting is changed prior to installation, you will see Russian Cyrillic characters. Also, when you start FC later on, SF check will be in Russian. I had no problems with FC, but I had problems with other applications. When regional settings are changed, any application that you install afterwards is affected in some way. Installation wizard checks for your regional setting and if that application has appropriate localization (translation), all messages during installation and during first usage will be in that language. Therefore, if you leave above setting in Russian, all application that you install in the future COULD be displayed in Russian. Another possibility is that you will not be able to install or run that application at all. Example: You change Regional Options, install DCS, and it runs OK. Few days later, you install latest Opera. Its installation will automatically set Russian as default language for interface! This could happen to any other application, provided they have Russian localization. Why is this more important than just a "weird" language in Opera? If you take a look at Regional and Language Options, you will notice a button Customize where you can change some parameters, like decimal symbol, digit group symbol and list separator. All this means nothing to you, but could mean a lot to a specific application. Some applications use certain characters as decimal symbol or a list separator to perform basic calculations or to interact with databases. If those do not match your regional setting, the application will not work. So, if you change Regional and Language Options into Russian to make DCS work, some other application will not be able to work properly or to work at all. This could apply to: - hardware drivers - internet setting - any regular application, like CD-burner, catalogue manager… - other games I was not able to test all possibilities. I have no issues on my PC whatsoever with hardware drivers. However, I had had problems with other applications, more dependant on regional setting (some database driven apps would not work). In order to make them run, I had to reverse Regional Options into English or my own language. If such thing will be present on DCS, and I believe it is very possible, you could run DCS, but you will have to revert Regional and Language Options into previous one in order to run any other application. This changing in and out of Russian settings demands restarting the PC! Not scare you off, just to give you a heads-up on possible (and very annoying) byproducts :) Cheers! PS - This is not documented by ED as thier intention was not to distribute CIS versions outside of CIS. Don't blame them!

If it's going to arranged like with the FC, you need to mind one detail - English shop and Russian shop are not selling the same item! Russian FC is not available for sale outside of CIS, and that could be the case with DCS. If your intention is to buy Russian version of DCS. I think that this is confusing a lot of people and has to be properly clarified. I'm just making a guessed assumption here.

Happy to hear nice feedback :D I'm glad to help for many reasons - not onyl that I'm quite fanatical about this sim serial, but there are guys on this forum that were very helpful to me in the past. Just check those moaning post of mine about stats... I kinda like to "spread" this favor doing stuff in hope it will catch on :)

It looks like DCS will be able to search for a server list on Internet on his own, but an official confirmation would be nice :) In upper right corner says "Client". Drop down list says "Internet", "Local network (LAN)" and "History"(?). Next to it there is "Connect by IP". Two buttons in lower right corner say "Refresh" and "New search". (At bottom there are "Back" and "Connect".)

Dunno. I guess they never tried to purchase anything from Russia. Can be done only if someone makes them a favor. Someone in CIS buys and then they send him/her money via bank transef, western union or cash in envelope (expensive, expensive, risky). Or if a person from CIS has a cousin/friend in paypal country (safest). Or if they have a friend/cousin working or studying in CIS (slowest).
