  1. Nice ! The bezels option is a good addition :)
  2. The border around the instrument's extraction. For example, the RWR's display is usually made of a rectangular bezel which has a circular inner output and etchings that denote threat level. More than that, each airframe has its own bezel for its own instruments, whether they are MFDs, RWR, IFEI, DED, etc.
  3. Will there be an option of bezels or only the extractions themselves?
  4. At the speed you are advancing with developement I would rather wait than have something half baked. It's an exception on my part ;) Well Done !!! And...Thank You !
  5. Can’t agree more regarding how basic is A2G radar almost as much as A2A radar. Flying CAS, SEAD, Interdiction or any A2G mission without it doesn’t make much sense, to me. It is not a “feature” but as basic as wings or engines with either the Fighter/Attack-18C or the Viper. While I realize the Hornet will not be whole in the near future...having A2G radar is a make or break issue...at least for me. I do understand the development challenges regarding it and that it takes time. But...it was promised and this promise I expect ED to fulfill and not in a few years from now...
  6. Interesting thread. Essentially most here write the same idea in different words or approaches. What I don't understand is why some are angry at ED. Looking at the facts, from ED's history along the years, its business strategy is quite apparent. Not according to words and statements but actions. They gradually invest less in making whole complete true to life modules and more on modules that satisfy features enough customers shall pay for. It is abundantly clear, to me, that there is no way the Hornet will be complete in the A-10C standard in 2020. I'm inclined to think it might never be there...unless some air-force signs a contract that will enable cost effective continued development. More than that...the Hornet is not alone and while many like it (me included) there is no economical or other reason to invest resources into developing specifically the Hornet and not other modules at its state. Last fact: combat jet simmers prefer to use DCS to other jet combat sims and they pay, each time, no matter what's the product's condition. As long as the customers pay no mater what ED has no real incentive, profit for that matter, to invest money and personnel into making WHOLE modules. It is what it has been for quite a long time. Probably . . . ;)
  7. Capt Zeen, Couldn't use your ready to use Helios profiles because my extractions screen has different dimensions than the ones you have and...because I was way too intimidated to deal with Helios to build something other than the built in DCS Hornet ready to export (sort of) extractions but no bezels or no active buttons or indicators. Well...today I found out that your tutorials, explanations, ready art and profile are so splendid, beautiful, easy to use and to understand that with a few adaptations, a lot of trial and error and just a bit of "original thinking" I managed to upgrade my extractions by a large margin and then some. In short...THANK YOU !!!
  8. DCS is what it is and has been for years. The same goes for ED. There’s no reason to either get frustrated or to get one’s hopes up. What was promised for 2020 had been promised for quite a long time... Look at the progression of modules introduced first in beta and then in alpha. Look at modules introduced first as entire aircrafts and then of parts such as the coming comms and the likes. Look at the price deltas and the state of modules even after many months. And the masses keep spending their money... Again...not good or bad but a reality. Expect only what there is and what has been as far as development and costs go... Listen to ED for their language is quite clear and after enough time one can know what one can ACTUALLY expect and get. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Checked and it gives most of what neede. Thanks. One kind of data is missing, or can not be obtained: own weapons release target's status if hit, eg damaged or destroyed/ downed. For example: Mig-21 damged in the same line a Sparrow or bullets are used, or in later line if in later time after a missile shot. The data is available both for DCS and BMS and I wonder if it's possible to add it.
  10. A request... TacView seems to have all the data for each object during an activity, eg object specific (Hornet pilot X or T-72 etc), actions time stamped, intercations between different objects (Hornet pilot X dropped a MK-82 at xxyyZ which destroyed 2 T-72. Is it possible to have in addition to the graphical track a summery data page with all actions regarding a specific pilot? Beginning from mission start time, T/O and every action and relations to these actions until mission end. Debriefing seems to be a challenge with collecting all accurate relevant data in DCS as in other sims and if TacView has all the data already it might as well be a one stop shop debreiefing wise.
  11. Is there a file or a menu that shows post flight, after DCS closes, certain mission's actions/ statistics other than TacView? Like a table of content with time, ammunition dispensed, times, targets hit, etc.
  12. I am trying to understand this thread. 187 posts regarding an alpha software change that can be dealt with in 10 minutes tops by simply remapping.
  13. Your habits are the right ones, just not the right ones for simulated flight with a short stick that has only a weak spring for a feedback and no ass to feel. You just need the time to acquire new habits, bad ones as real flight goes, that rely more on eye sight and muscle memory. An extension might make it a bit easier, but since you're coming from real aviation don't use curves which will give you new bad habits which shall ruin everything you remember. Patience :)
  14. Why do you need the export.lua if you don't use Helios?
  15. This is the least advised way, according to ED, especially when dealing with a WIP module. Assignments and commands change a lot during the first stages of development and continues to through out its life cycle. While your advice does work it might lead to problems. So... Do backup your assignments from the saved game folder...but...only use them if there is no update. After an update or reinstall after an update the best effective way is make everything fresh. Just write everything down if and when. Just my 2 cents.
  16. Well Done !!! As for using AP while flying formation off someone or while refueling...in my personal opinion it shall be a bad habit and will not help you in the long run. Learn to play the throttle by mm forward and backwards...it will teach you the world about managing your speeds to a point that you shall be able to tango on a dime. As for trimming...when you don’t trim correctly you correct with the stick which has a wider range and it causes oscillations up and down. Trim with a very light touch and check by leaving the stick if the aircraft is straight and level. Practice by just flying alone. Keep up the good work !
  17. My advices: 1. Always trim the Hornet. When trimmed properly the CAS will keep the aircraft at 1g. 2. While refueling stick is only fir up and down and rudder only for left and right. First correct only on one plain of motion and nit both. 3. Throttle- mini small corrections as needed. 4. Refueling pod mental picture on the HUD. Just remember where it should be, put it there and keep it there. Fly formation with it and it alone. 5. Put the basket and the tanker at your peripheral sight and keep them there, especially the basket. Don’t chase it. It doesn’t matter. The refuelling pod id your whole world. 6. When push comes to shove and if you’re flying offline...just shoot the damn tanker. We all did that in the beginning ;)
  18. Capt Zeen, Thank you for your hard work, explanations and files!!! With you and PeterP’s legendary tutorials extraction became a stroll in the park. My appreciation !!!
  19. Another check and a partial solution: 1. Since the switch's inflight position is graphically up I did a custom command where I replaced the 0.0 value with the 1.0 value. 2. When in a cold and dark pit you move the switch before startup it works after a couple of clicks. 3. When spawning into a warm plane the switch doesn't work and is a toggle. Section 3 needs a fix.
  20. Actually IFF is pretty well documented. What is not documented and is classified is mode 4 which is most reliable in times of war and therefore classified to prevent intentional false positive. IFF, basically, is an electronic interrogation: a receiver checks for transmissions with certain data which either have or don't have a certain "code". For example: if "1" is defined as friend then any other answer recieved other than 1 is regarded as foe.
  21. You are correct Laithar. Same for me. One time in one flight worked OK and that was the last time. Symptoms as you described.
  22. Although the command has two values for down (1.0) and up (0.0) instead of having one movement for each switch position it acts as toggle, as if only the down command/ value is correct. Reference default.lua gear_commands.LaunchBarSw
  23. Maybe answered before so sorry in advance...can it be installed on both DCS stable and Beta at the same time? If so then how?
