more stuff happens online than offline at any given time I guess... more things loading into memory than in a single offline mission? what was the last offline mission you played that had... su-25's, su-27s, su-33s, mig-29s, mig-21s, f-15s, m2000cs, A-10s freaking ka-50s and hueys multiples of some of them all flying simultaneously?

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
Hadwell replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I'd want a super late model F-104G, with a radar and all, if I were to pick one. -
and 10 years ago we'd have OMG OMG this game uses 1GB of ram... time to realize, like with everything else, things change... including the amount of ram computers need. ram is basically the cheapest part of a PC... and I'm glad there are games out there that actually try to make use of the full potential of PC hardware. games being made for consoles limited hardware, then ported to pc, or the dude that decided his 8 year old core2 (or 2 year old AMD system) is still plenty good enough blow chunks. especially if, without those limitations, so much more could have been done. please don't try and take away one of the few games out there that actually push PC hardware, there are so few of them. having the bar set at the lowest common denominator for hardware limits just holds DCS back from all it could be.

you need to be firing them, it's pretty random when it happens, can be because you're pulling G's, sometimes it just happens for no apparent reason... but they do jam... in my recollection it's happened 3 times for me, though only once when I was actually trying to shoot someone down...

for the afterburner to work, there's the afterburner switch, next to the engine relight switch, that's the main afterburner, so map an easy to access key to that, it's called Afterburner/Maximum on/off in the controls, and then directly infront of the throttle, next to the aileron booster switch, there's the 2nd afterburner switch, map a key to that too, called emergency afterburner on/off in the controls. there is no afterburner bug, it works just fine. take a look at my youtube channel if you don't believe me.

Mig21s radar is acting weird. Apparently fixed internally, and probly the fix will show up for us next patch...

nope the ram won't work I went from 8gb CL7 1600mhz to 16gb cl10 1866mhz ram and the 8gb kit didn't work with it.... I'm pretty sure the cl10 ram at 1866 might be slightly slower or roughly the same speed as the cl7 1600, but with dcs, more ram is more important than non-real world performance measureably faster ram...

So then why didn't it work in the first video? Clouds? Just open the chat window and drag it wherever you want with the mouse.

here's what I was trying to do. 6jMvWbOLYnA

ok, so after testing, it seems the issue is that i can't fire it if I'm so far beneath him and not pointed right at him... not a 2G limit.
-
yeah but the thing is... when I first get in range is about 10km away, cause we're roughly head on, I have pylon 3 selected and pull the trigger, nothing happens, i try again, still nothing happens, so I switch to 4 and try again.... still, nothing happens... then I just fly behind him and shoot him with a 13M1... going to test this 2G limit theory.
-
you may be right... 2G limit now? at no point when I have pylons 3 or 4 selected with the SAR switch on, do the two red lights come on.

New Build: Seeking opinions on parts and assembly

tower = EM protection, both for things outside the case, and things inside the case, dust protection, and also protection from the elements... cats... little humans, big, but dumb humans, etc... most sound cards aren't really better than the one on the motherboard, all software driven... really you get a more expensive sound card to add 1/4" jacks,or better latency with ASIO, I have a PCI soundblaster fatal1ty with 1/4 jacks and optical in on the front panel, i use it with amplitube and ASIO to play guitar in real-time with no delay. but even on lower end motherboards they support full 5.1 playback, and often have optical out. -
it's not like I'm trying to do something I haven't done dozens of times before. take a look at my switches, they are set right, right? from head-on(or nearly so), at the speeds we were traveling, should the R3R have launched? for some reason it didn't, this has happened twice under similar circumstances, and only within the recent past.

currently available hardware is sufficiant to run most games games at 4K... but the really graphics intensive games, not really. it's like VR... most people don't realize that even if the screen door effect is less, in real life, when you get further away from something, the amount of matter it contains is the same, it just gets futher away. in the VR headset, the further away you get from something, the less matter it contains, it's less pixels, less resolution, not just smaller, but physically less of it. so even 4K for VR is a really low resolution. also, right now, pretty much all VR games have the polygon count of a late playstation 2, early playstation 3 game, in order for current hardware to run it at 90 fps+ though you can play games like DCS if you don't mind it barely running at 30 fps, unless you're just flying around on an empty map. -
Memories RAM, PC3-10700 and 10600 together?
Hadwell replied to Vitormouraa's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
doesn't work for me, upgraded my memory, computer won't POST and memOK! can't find a solution. tried to use my old 8GB(2x4GB) kit with a brand new 16GB kit(2x8GB) no luck, though the 16GB kit works on its own. though your two types are a lot closer, so maybe you'll have better luck. -
I forgot to record my first kill in the m2000c, too lazy to find the replay. not sure if half the switches I turned on after start up actually do anything, but I figured why not? Since this is my first m2000c video... 1.droptanks... select the drop tank, flip the switch to the left of the selectors, and pull the trigger, to drop them when they're empty... 2.to use matra 530Ds you hit the lock button twice, 1st time for TWS, 2nd for Single target track (STT), 530Ds require STT. 3.Magic IIs work like any other IR missile. 0_id6TuCxkM

shut down the saitek profiler, go into the axis menu in DCS, and clear out everything for all devices in the in-game axis menu, and just map pitch, roll, rudder, and throttle, and see if it works, then, only if you can fly properly, add zoom axis and whatever other axis after... make sure you completely clear out everything but trackIR (if you have it) in the axis menu. the saitek profiler works, but it's best to use it to add extra functions, not as the primary method of binding buttons in dcs. if there's lots of ghosting, there's a chance your throttle isn't getting enough power, and you might try a different usb controller on your motherboard, or a powered (plugged into the wall socket, not just usb port) usb hub. also, i've heard windows 10 and the saitek profiler don't get along well... and depending on what plane you're in, it will roll if you stall it, or because of engine torque.

yeah, same here, thats why i said 8gb is barely enough... the game is playable... for a short time... and SSD makes a very noticeable difference. i had 8gb 1600mhz about 2 weeks ago... have 16gb 1866mhz now...
