  1. +1 to only Mavericks with TV sensor and lighter warhead, that would be the AGM-65K.
  2. NATOPS 23.6 is about the IFF system. "23.6.2.1.4 I/P Pushbutton. Pressing the I/P pushbutton enables the IFF system to transmit momentary identification of position." I imagine this to be equivalent to a civilian transponder's IDENT function. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transponder_(aeronautics) https://aviation.stackexchange.com/questions/3049/how-does-ident-work Please correct me if I'm wrong. IFF in total is not yet implemented in the Hornet and only very simplified in whole DCS:World, so the buttons do nothing yet.
  3. I can confirm that the Jetseat doesn't work on Cold War. If there's nothing else connected to enabling the player export, please do so!
  4. Having bought the yet unsupported Christen Eagle II and with the Farmer and Tomcat on the horizon, I would like to ask how long it usually takes for the software devs of the SimShaker for Aviators to update it for a new DCS module? Sorry if that question is for another thread, then please point me to it!
  5. Can't understand your comment, Mizzy! KAKTYC 11 provided constructive criticism feedback as good as you can only wish for.
  6. Picked mine up yesterday from being stuck in customs, as expected. Had to open the parcel and unpack it there completely, because amongst others, one of customs' duties is to verify every imported electronics device has the "CE" EU safety standards conformity sign. On the Jetseat, we found it on the backside label of the control unit housing. Customs surcharge was around €27 for the Jetseat + SimShaker-Wings Bundle. I installed it today and tried it with the DCS Hornet. Although not yet as hyped upon first impression as , I really like it quality- and value-for-money-wise. A great hardware-addition to the immersion package of HOTAS and Oculus Rift, looking especially forward to flying the Tomcat with it!
  7. It should get noticed here for being prominent bad publicity, quality- and service-wise.
  8. I would pay between $25 and $50 per module for significant, high quality updates to the core engine, e.g.: - realistic weather engine with sky/cloud textures, effects like wake turbulence, dynamics models, realtime-update downloads - there were awesome payware add-ons for FS9/FSX back in the days. - a capable AI-ATC engine for at least Towers and TRACONs, that is configurable to feature optional characteristics that can be applied to all DCS: World's maps and aerodromes: 1. US/NATO military / wartime style, 2. Russian/WP Block military / wartime style, 3. close to reallife civilian/military mix according to realworld use and region of aerodrome. Plus realistic western & eastern carrier ops and AWACS/GCI service. - a dynamic campaign engine that is elaborate enough to convert F4/BMS fans to DCS, featuring the respective lessons learned of the last 25 years of milsim gaming, requiring also a significant unit AI upgrade across the board. Just to give some examples, other topics might be an integrated radio/VOIP engine or the about to arrive dedicated server software. Basically anything that I have been supporting financially already in the past, like paying for the LOtATC client software and donations for SRS and select public server hosts. Other players might have other priorities and be willing to pay for terrain textures, 3D models, etc. And others might not be willing to spend more on this game at all. However ED does it, I would love to see major updates to the core engine in all aspects (Vulcan API, multi-threading, etc.) arrive faster. And I offer the money I don't spend on other games as fuel for an increase in DCS software output and quality.
  9. Looking at the screenshots I got immediately reminded of F4:AF and the Italian Adriatic coast. I checked Incirlik AB for Aviano AB in northern Italy, which looks really similar, but then just not right... Kudos to the fast-ID-ers!
  10. How about a helo-focused mission that offers the core fixed-wings with guns-only? Would give the Fishbed- and Tiger-drivers the chance to go BFM against each other and the helos a higher survivability / self-defence chance with door gunners.
  11. Multiplayer mission design is a little different from fighting a realworld war. Where in the latter it is totally fine to win in as short as possible amount of time with as little resources used as possible, the former's main design goal has to be entertainment and attraction. Without focus on those two, you will not fill your server with returning clients. Now that there will be a severe imbalance between HARM's capabilities and annoying lack of air defence systems' AI capabilities/tactics, mission designers will have to find a design compromise to enable the ideally unrestricted use of the new toy on the one hand, and on the other hand try to strengthen the air defence systems by e.g. placement, numbers, redundancy, triggers, scripted behaviour, spawns, selective invulnerability, etc.
  12. Correct, the AWG-9 can guide Sparrows to only one target at a time in STT. Dividing the radar energy onto two more guidance beams analogue to STT would require an AESA radar.
  13. I imagine North Atlantic with Iceland in the center a nice free map: Lots of open water for carrier ops, some ground to conquer, few buildings & trees make its creation not too costly for a free product. Including Faeroer Islands and maybe add some bases on the costal regions of Inverness, Bergen and eastern Greenland, that would give a huge and versatile playground. Red Storm Rising, anyone?
  14. 8 days without new Turkey video footage... - I feel the need...!
  15. @Alpenwolf: Yes, I forgot about Su-25 carrying R-60s, only thought about Su-25T and R-73. The R-60 I consider of course totally fine for the Frogfoot-A, as long as it‘s not the „M“ variant.
  16. I‘m pro „no all-aspect AAMs“, the R-60 without „M“ and the AIM-9 without „P5, L, M or X“ should be the modern-most allowed AAMs. Even if that means that some newer groundpounders like Harrier, Frogfoot and Warthog lose all their AAM capability, they still have their guns for self-protection and should concentrate on air-to-ground business.
  17. There are ups and downs in the extent of use of SRS but its use is highly encouraged by 104th. Teamspeak is optional for preflight planning and strategic preflight coordination. SRS is promoted to be used for all inflight comms from airbase ATC (= uncontrolled traffic coordination) to formation internal comms, Guard, A/A & A/G tactical inflight coordination and AAR coordination. Its use is even mandatory for carrier ATC (= uncontrolled traffic coordination) and human GCI service.
  18. Yesterday Gudauta couldn't be captured by either side. Are there ways to check if it was our fault overlooking units or if there might have been a problem with the triggers?
  19. 21g is in the ballpark of an ejection seat bailout - so yes, it is surviveable, though sometimes with injuries.
  20. ED hat glaub' ich aus Prinzip noch nie irgendwas gemacht, von dem die Community dachte, dass es "Pflicht" oder selbstverständlich wäre... :P
  21. That's because the interesting half of systems is controlled from the backseat, and that is not yet allowed to be shown. No need for a detailed discussion of the front right side panel controlling mainly lighting in the meantime. For the time, I'd be more than happy with more vids about flight characteristics, like accelleration, airbrake effectiveness, glide controlability by spoiler thumbwheel and so on and on. It will all come to us step by step.
  22. Sooo good! Keep'em coming, I'm happy to take the time every day until release for new half-hour footage of that baby, anytime!
  23. Weiter geht's: (Meinetwegen jetzt gern jeden Tag so ein Video bis zum Release, die Zeit nehm' ich mir gern!)
