DCS keeps getting better and better. I have always loved the little hellion F-5. Very, very thank you Belsimtek!

You gotta admit: it's kind of nice when people fly the Mirage and they mistakenly think there shouldn't be any bugs because it flies like a finished (released) product. Last night, I got into a tangle with a Mig 15 (single player). Although I eventually got shot down, the fight went on for about 5 minutes (ages for a dogfight). This is remarkable because my versions of dogfights are best described as kitten hissing. Visibility was great, turning was good enough to watch the Mig creep up on me, climbing out should have been what I needed to continue doing, and (second fight) the Magic II shot was awesomely rewarding and great retaliation for the first fight. Razbam, you have a superb aircraft here. Thank you. Pleeeeeze keep up the great work and give us aircraft just like the Mirage. By the way, the little flaps in the middle of the wings don't improve lift at all during landings and takeoffs. The work pretty good as speed brakes, though. I hope you don't mind if I use them that way...:smartass:

Awesome! When LoMac came out, I was in love. When Flaming Cliffs came out, I was in love even more. When FC2 came out, I was still as much in love as I could be. When the A-10C came out, I didn't think I could be more in love. Yet I was. (I'm going to run out of adjectives soon!) Then came the Huey. OMG, I thought. I'm in heaven. Even in those first few hours of release, the poor thing just tried to kill itself and me along with it. But I was in love more deeply. Soon BST got the flight dynamics right and I have been flying this angel ever since. (As well as all the other Western aircraft, too! Years ago, I was with the 104th Phoenix and had to qualify by three consecutive carrier traps on the K, in an Su-33. Sorry, guys, but I'm too stupid to learn Russian any more than that. :( The Pony was a dream even when it, too, tried its best to kill me on take-off. Today, I fly with pride in the P-51. (The German birds, well, the Mustang still is my favorite.) The Gazelle is very nice but needs a little bit of work yet. (Just my opinion. Or, I could just be too stupid to fly such a light helo.) But, the reason for this post: The Albatros just has to be God's gift to sim pilots! I am totally blotto in love with her. She's not fast, but I don't care. She's not heavily armed, but I don't care. She's not even particularly pretty like the (upcoming) F-5 or the Eagle. But, in this early release of the L-39, I think I can honestly say, she's my favorite to get into and just fly. Thank you so much, ED. She's gorgeous to fly.

Bugs? Sure. Lots of 'em. Cockroaches, spiders, ants, and little white crawlies that I have no idea what they are.... probably nanobots of some sort. But helicopter coding bugs? I have too much fun just flying the contraption than to look and see what isn't working right. I'm so excited.... Thanks PolyChop!
-
I just purchased the Gazelle. The helicopter gods have graced us with three now. BS: Wow! Huey: Holy Sh?t! Gazelle: OMG, it twitches like a dragonfly. I'm not supposed to be a rotor-head but it appears that's what I fly best. Go figure.

30 % on roll, pitch and rudder. TM Warthog. I noticed that once you're in a heavy roll, it's hard to get out of with just a little input. Yes, she's much more twitchy than the Huey. But I don't think it's the flight model causing the headache. I think the joystick inputs need a lot more tweaking. I'll fly again later this afternoon with zero curves all the way around. But Polychop, I'm in love all over again! The model is awesome. One question: what did you do to that poor left-seater? Surely you didn't model him on a real person? Ah, irrelevant. Seriously, the landings are very much a surprise. I have landed successfully (Thanks, Huey!) But I did notice that even the slightest bump causes all hell to break loose.

No, the gun optix are just fine: the Russian tanks are just that small... Just kidding.

Maybe you could do a DCS repair?

... all this technical talk. What's wrong with just pressing WASD to go up, left, down, and right? Heck, any nintendo or xbox can do it. Who needs joysticks? :smartass:

Brixmis, Just saw your A-10 Navigation gone awry. Any landing you walk away from is a good landing. (BTW, your squadron's maintenance department will be billing your CC for the damages to your wing tip and there is a traffic cop here with some sort of speeding ticket for you!)

I sit just a bit too far back to get the entire HUD correctly. When I zoom in, I get zoomed properly but the HUD also gets zoomed. What I need to do is sit closer to my monitor. I can, but I'm a bit uncomfortable doing it. It being too high or too low: that can easily be remedied just like a real cockpit does! Seat height adjustment (switch up and down on the left, just under the canopy sill.) It being too much left or right: if you have centered your view correctly (TrackIR, etc.) any deviation from the center is usually crosswind. Rudder or rudder trim will fix that.

Yup, ignore ATC. Once you are within visual of the runway and you see a plane either on the runway or making an approach... just generally getting in your way... fire up the 30mm or an AIM-9 and blow the moron off the concrete. Then land and report to the Base Commander's office to be arrested. (Free bread in the brig. All the water you can drink, too.) :smilewink:

Thanks for all the GREAT training talks. This thread is Sooooooo good.

Yup! That did the trick. Thank you.

Thanks, Bull. I'm not at my gaming machine so I'll cross it over later, after work tonight.

I want to spawn either one AN 30 OR one AN 26 and have it fly a route. Not both. Just one OR the other. Is there a way to randomize the spawn of one of them? The mission I am trying to create involves a visual confirmation of the type (AN 30 is not hostile, the AN 26 is) and, based on that AN 26, a conflict will ensue. Is the randomization of an AI spawn possible? :book:

Military and Aviation News Thread (NO DISCUSSION)
=Mac= replied to topol-m's topic in Military and Aviation
A-10 fierce battle won... in U.S. congress. "It appears the administration is finally coming to its senses and recognizing the importance of A-10s to our troops' lives and national security,"said Rep. Martha McSally, a Republican from Arizona and a retired Air Force colonel who flew the A-10. http://www.military.com/daily-news/2016/01/14/us-air-force-shelves-plan-to-retire-a-10-warthogs.html -
Thanks. Then it has to be my install, somehow. I'll check... somehow.

I wanted to do a embark/disembark mission in 2.0 but found that it's not available. Fine. Alpha release. But I went to 1.5 and created the mission. The embark/disembark worked fine. However, the cyclic and collective joystick responses were very very mushy. I cleared those axes and re-defined them to +30, x and y. Same mushy response. I set x and y back to zero. 2.0 has great response even at +30. Does 2.0 and 1.5 have different functionality in these axes?

Work finished early yesterday. I just had to get some DCS time in!
