  1. Being a campaign, I didn't even go into the arming menu. Should I check it there?
  2. Uhm... Which would be the correct type?
  3. Hi There, hope it is just me, but after dropping 2 JDAMs, when going after the convoy, if you try to use the CCIP gun pipper, you will shoot waaay above the target. It is an ancient problem ED couldn't find since 2018 despite multiple user reports. And I have no any mod activated, nothing. If you try to switch to manual pipper, and do not change the holdover, you still have to aim approx. with the 12 o'clock top dash of the manual pipper instead of the dot, to have the bullet impacts anywhere near the target... Very frustrating... Curious if anyone else has this problem...
  4. Yes. If you want the TDC to go up, you need to move the mini stick up, and so on.
  5. Hope this thread is still alive. DTC 8.1 doesn't seem to work properly for me. F-18 Countermeasures are not set, the DDIs get swapped mid-loading process, never happened before. Anyone else?...
  6. And btw, how is the waypoint designation TOO in a first place?...
  7. Looks like I'm one of them... Thanks for the heads up
  8. OK, thanks for feedback...
  9. Hi Guys, is it just me, or is there something wrong with the Chusk's Guides homepage? The preview pages do not appear, and I can't download anything, some "security error unknown issuer" warning pops up. Anyone?...
  10. When you try to map the paddle switch, what number do you see in the cell on the Controls page? If you see JOY_BTN8, you are doing it right. If you see JOY_BTN7, you did the assignment wrong. Check it please, and if you see JOY_BTN7, i will explain what did you do wrong.
  11. It's not about your landing speed. Make sure your descent is 700 feet per minute or less.
  12. Except if it is Carrier Qualification.
  13. On old typewriters the lower case characters were at the bottom of the "hammer", and the capital letters were on top of each "hammer". When you pressed the Shift key, you shifted the entire set of the hammers downwards by about half an inch, so now the top characters on the hammer had contact with the paper instead of the bottom characters. No typewriter machine could ever change the angle of the paper. Just for friendly nitpicking's sake...
  14. Yeah, at some point in time, F-18 FM (maybe others too) got a bit more sensitive. But it only means more practice, or if you don't have the patience to adjust to the new flight model, I would recommend to put in a Curvature of 20 for both the pitch and the roll axis. This brings back just about the old sensitivity you got probably used to. Also, PIO usually comes from looking at the basket in close, and not looking on the big picture (including looking at the FPM to keep level flight) to keep you from chasing the basket vertically.
  15. Which mod was it? I'm just asking to avoid it.

    Rain Switch

Never tried, but I assume the raindrops appear just as if the aircraft would be stationary on the deck, insted of flying around 140 kts, where the raindrops should be in fact blown back by the wind immediately?...
  17. 1. No, this has nothing to do with the in game LSO talking. It compares certain parameters of your Case 1 pattern to optimal values, and based on the difference to your parameters gives you evaluation and points using on screen text.
  18. DCS guide page 75.
  19. I think some are mixing up time hack (to synchronize clocks) with push time (point in time to commence, aka long CASE III descent to land on the carrier). Just to avoid de-railing the topic... Oh, and distance to hold is also given...
  20. I'm not sure I understand how 3 or 4 degrees as on speed AOA comes into the picture in a first place, when proper AOA is 8.1° for the Hornet. Is it supposed to mean maybe 3 or 4 degrees for glide slope angle? Or if it is really AoA, then coming in with that makes anyone waaay too fast... What am I missing here?
  21. Yes, if you have the same kind of coulds filtering the sun in DCS too... But in RL it is much worse in clear skies, than on this picture.
  22. If you are not sure, how do you know if weight was OK all the times? Before landing, make sure on the CHKLIST page you are below 34k weight. If over, dump some fuel after setting your bingo to the required amount (so you don't forget to stop dumping). It's a good number to arrive with no more than 4k fuel to the boat. If you are further out and wanna be ahead of the game, check on the FPAS, how much fuel will you have when arriving to Mother, and dump accordingly. You can dump in several steps too if you wanna be cautious.. And as others said, make sure your VV is not bigger than 700 f/min all the way in the groove, but at least when you are touching down. Avoid pushing the nose down or cutting throttle in close to force the aircraft into the wires.
  23. yes. What throttle do you use? Check your HARM SEQ / RAID / FOV button assignment. Or can't you go into RAID not even with the DDI button?
  24. Did you check how the button or dial is set in SimApp Pro? You can change their behaviour. DIsregard if you already did...
