On page 90-91 the numbering of the collective button functions are borked. Nr 2. is instead 15., then continues with 3 and so all numbers are 1 number offset from the numbers on the picture labels. Just saying.

Aligning AB detent and Throttle Calibration (How to)
Razor18 replied to MustangSally's topic in Winwing
When you calibrated, you did NOT go all the way into OFF, right? First you need to pull to Idle and click OK, then calibration move 3 times between Idle and MAX (all the way to end of AB), then separate AB detent callibraton goes from IDLE to MIL. For me, Idle is 65535. -
Aligning AB detent and Throttle Calibration (How to)
Razor18 replied to MustangSally's topic in Winwing
I mount my AB detent on the Orion 2 to full forward position. I go in game and test, at which throttle position on the Orion does the F-18C AB light up in game. It happens before my throttles even hit the detent. SimApp reading is 11300 at the Orion AB detent, but AB lights up in game at 16400 So I should rather pull back the detent a bit, shouldn't I? I'm not sure I understand how the AB can/should be set in SimAppPro, as I do not see any change, whichever value I set and activate there. The light blue lines showing the throttle position goes up and down just the same. What am I missing? Thanks ! -
correct as is Blank line through the HUD on FA18C
Razor18 replied to pjjones81's topic in Bugs and Problems
To find the proper vertical seat position, look at the mechanical crosshair on the top right of the HUD, and lower your seat, until the pipper on the far part of the HUD are aligned horizontally, in other words until the crosshair is on the same height as the pipper. On all the above pictures you are sitting too high. -
Carrier landing, the turn to final, need tips and tricks please :) case 1.
Razor18 replied to macedk's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Set the TACAN course to BRC, but don't use the TACAN to measure perpendicular distance from the boat, as it will only show the value you are looking for accurately, when you are abeam of the boat. Instead, put the HSI in the AMPCD between your legs, then you can see the paralell/offset distance of your downwind leg from the boat's "axis" in the bottom right corner of the HSI. Don't put the HSI to the left DDI, as the advisory line will obstruct the distance value. -
Press Undesignate, or if in GUN mode, select another weapon.

Do we still need Steam VR if we are using WMR?
Razor18 replied to testudine2002's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
No, WMR will be fine, since Open XR became native. And you do not have to extra download OPEN XR Tools app either, just if you fancy dicking around even more. -
\ is the default key for the COMMS menu, that only works on the ground.

I suggest you use the "User curve" setting. Start at 0 for the left most band, and increase the value band by band by 2 (or 3 on my attachment) as you go step by step to the right. The last slider (on the right) should be on 100%, and the next to last one should be tried and set with the slider so that the curve is smooth where it bends upwards. If still not enough "dampened", try 2 for increment (0, 2, 4, etc.) instead of 3, like on my pic below. By the way you don't have to fiddle around with the sliders, you can click into the fields below and write in the numbers with the keyboard directly. With this method you maximize the length of shallow part, but on the edges of the movement range you still can achieve maximum/original slew speed for both the FCR as well as on the SA page, for quick/coarse slew. You can play with the deadzone too, with a Deadzone of "1" I just wanted to avoid the cursor being moved inadvertantly when depressing TDC to designate something. If it's not enough, you can try 2 or 3. (However I do have the TDC slew upgrade on my TM HW Throttle ( click here to see ), not the pretty much useless original "nipple"...) Setting 20 for deadzone seems a bit overkill for me, you pretty much loose the rather fine middle part of the TDC movement in my opinion.

Mission 6 Base altitude on the pdf doc is 9 000, on the kneeboard 10 000. Push time: kneeboard :20, Briefing text 15:40, pdf doc :40. Hope this helps.- 435 replies

Razor18 replied to Sedlo's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Hay Sedlo, just found this "official" channel for campaign feedback. In Mission 5 "Rescue", based of the TacView review, of all the Tomahawks launched, 7 missiles never go anywhere, just loitering in circles over the sea all the way until I land back on the boat. If it was intentional, then disregard. Thanks for your work nonetheless !- 435 replies

I guess that is the max, but I guess the bottleneck is, how "fast" (lbs/minute) the receivers can take fuel...

Using a shrinked "standard" kneeboard (I surmise), are you sure the fonts would be big enough to read them?

Yeah, good call, thanks

missing info Light wands invisible in VR, Salute command doesn't work

Oh and Stennis doesn't seem to have any landing strip lights on, at least when returning at the end of Mission 4.
