  1. Question for Cichlid. I'm considering a pit, but it's kinda a tad bit too serious for me. Is your pit any bit of removable? Or is that stuff bunkered down? I'd want a pit like yours, but it would be a tad bit awkward explaining to the guys....
  2. I look at it this way. The A-10 in general is loved by its Pilots, it's JTAC's, and it's Generals. In 2003 Commanders would ask for the hog by NAME when asking for CAS. You don't really see people doing that for the F-16. Yes, The A-10C is slow. It weighs nearly 20 tons when fully loaded. Most of that is high-durability armor. I mean, you have to admit that cockpit is insanely well protected for an aircraft. Yes, the A-10C can't get to a AO faster than a F-15E Can. F-15E Can drop maybe four or so PGB's and then its time for a flight back home to grab more. A-10C Can drop 6 PGB's, 6 Mavericks, 1170 rounds of 30MM APC Shredders, And then to top it off it can stay on station much longer than that F-15E. So what we're looking at here is a Jet that acts much like a helicopter compared to other Precision Guided Platforms. It has a longer station time, although its slower it can take more hits. Sure, it WILL get hit more. It's designed to take those hits though.

    difference?

Well... First of all... The one from Flaming Cliffs 3 is the F-15C Eagle. It is a single seat aircraft with a weaker search radar. The F-15C is designed for air-to-air and limited air to ground offensive capabilities. F-15C's are faster than F-15E's in pretty much every category The DCS F-15E will model the two seat F-15E Strike Fighter. The SF is designed primarily for air to ground engagements. It also features a more powerful search radar and with a WSO helping the pilot, BVR Engagements will usually go in favor of a Strike Eagle because the pilot can focus on searching for missiles and not searching for targets.
  4. Help Solving a Riddle Could someone help me solve this? It's annoying the living hell out of me! If you get it right, The Wargame : Airland Battle dev's will give a sneak peek at the new DLC Unit that corresponds to this riddle. All my friends could figure out is that it wasn't any Recon aircraft. W:ALB doesn't allow those.
  5. best korear shall rise agaiiiiin.
  6. 55 pages later, and the whole of wag's 1st grade class won't shut the hell up about combat application of the cobra. Does it really matter? If the cobra CAN be used in combat we'll just get a stream of solid shit on youtube about how l33t it is. If it doesnt whoop de friggin do.
  7. OH SWEET JESUS THANK YOU RAVEN.
  8. Left wing gone, left engine gone, and hydraulics shot to shit. flew 20 miles only to find my airbase overrun by Ruskies with Tunguskas. fml
  9. I got this joystick around 5 years ago as a Christmas present. Great joystick, I love it because it transfers pretty well to each platform I fly... http://content.hwigroup.net/images/products_larges/075674/1/saitek-cyborg-x-joystick.jpg However, its got a massive issue. It just LOVES to ghost the Right-Rudder at random times. This has caused massive pain for me because flying 1 hour in formation only to have the rudder spaz and crash is painful. Does anyone know why the joystick might be doing this?
  10. Just don't tell ShackTac that. They might have an aneurysm.
  11. When did I say the AGM-88 can be used on the A-10C? DCS is a Combat Simulator. It's modeled EXTENSIVELY after reality. I would have to say it relies HEAVILY on real life as a by-product. Doesn't mean however that how we REACT to it is real. Extending into the arguement; I'm positive no russian commander would send his SU-25T's into combat knowing there would be enemy fighters. And even if there were, no sane Russian Pilot would say "I feel like playing ATGM wars with that F-15!" so the situation where the Vikhr-M would ever be used is preposterous. Wars are fought combined arms like. A-10C wouldn't deploy to an AO that hadn't been at least partially sanitized yet. So yes. The SU-25T wins in a simulator where death is just a loading screen to us. I don't really know actually. I figured they were active. Musta just had REALLY shitty CAP then...

  13. --------------------------------------------------------------- Q: "Loading and testing takes too long time!!" A: Efficient Editing 101 - view world while editing; This method is very effective if you need to place units precisly. You will run two instances of DCS - one SP and one MP. Preparation; Set up DCS/FC2 to run in Windowed mode - set window size to 3/4 of your desktop. Start a DCS:BS in MP mode, keep it ready for loading a mission (You need to start DCS in MP before DCS in SP if you plan on using TrackIR / Hotas that hooks into the DCS.exe) Do not close it. Start DCS:BS Mission Editor secondly - edit your mission. SAVE the mission. Without closing the SP - Load the mission in MP as Server, use F2/F7 etc to view your unit positions. In the SP editor - Adjust your Units position. Or add new one's. - Do NOT save while mission is loaded and running in MP. Disconnect from your MP Server mission. SAVE your mission in SP Editor. LOAD mission again to review changes. 14. No advanced orders.... Don't know how to do that yet
  15. I'm trying to create a firebase on the Russian side for my mission. The goal of this artillery is to respond to ANY requests from ANY Groups [AI only] and fire upon them with proper reasoning. Anyone know how to accomplish this? I tried just plopping down some MSTA sites and they just sat there and laughed at me.
  16. Anything you can tell us on the 4 existing modules? Still interested.
  17. So basically only because it has more ATGM missile's I'm supposed to believe it's better in every aspect? IIRC, That little pod on the direct front of the aircraft controls it's laser designator. On the front of an aircraft. Meaning if it's shot at and knocked out, all those VIKHR missile's are screwed. Mavericks have the seeker head built-in. Yes, the MFCD on the A-10C can go out, but it still has boresight with the HUD to keep it going even after massive hits. As for the SEAD issue... We have The AGM-88 for a reason. The fact it can't be put on an A-10C doesn't mean it's not an option and wouldn't be in theater. Also enjoy that ELINT pod sacrificing your payload and those SEAD missiles taking up KH-25 slots. A-10C wouldn't have that problem... now would it? :) http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=111704 Not to mention with the release of the APKV... America enters the fray of Precision guided rockets...
  18. Too much work for an extremely niche market...
  19. Expert, you're kinda becoming a propaganda poster slowly with each post. You won't shutup about how the Vikhr is such a "Great" missile, and how it can even kill defenseless planes on takeoff. Whoah! Fact of the matter is its still a SACLO's missile. I still have to guide it in with the laser, and any deviation of that laser or temporary loss can send it on bad trajectory. Not to mention if there's ANY SORT OF MANPAD THREAT, the pilot puts himself at risk to continue guidance. Yes. Its an effective missile. I love using it against armor just as much as the next Slavic Male. However. it doesn't mean it's god. As for it's "Air To air" Capability, any Fighter pilot who fails to detect, notice, or in any other way counter a bogey getting within 10 miles of him is a bad pilot. Especially when it's a Ground Attack. I mean hell, Scorpion has tricked me a couple times using mountains and AWAC's walk-on.... in an actual fighter [MiG-29] But last time I recall, tank's don't climb mountains and Ground Attack airplanes like tanks. So by that generalization it mean's ground attack airplanes shouldn't like mountains either. I don't know why you scream SEAD with it, when using that fookin pod makes you a MASSIVE target for pretty much everything on the map. Every time I take out my SU-25T, slap on the ELINT pod and some SEAD missiles, I get painted almost instantly by enemies. Oh, but don't worry, that GLORIOUS RWR the russian's had to put on EVERYTHING can tell me there's a GENERAL THREAT TO MY FRONT. OH BOY, DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING. Better yet, it even goes so far as to give me a single light-indicator as to if it's on the ground or in the AIR. Whoah! I am in no way trying to say the SU-25T is a bad aircraft. It's not. I still like to take it out of the hangar and rack up some kills. But in the end of the day, I still prefer my A-10A/C.
  20. I usually top off at 700 knots with full load...
  21. Love this guy. His remix's are awesome :D
  22. k. So you'd rather overclock the hell out of a part just to get 5 more FPS? Tell me how that goes for you. He would be getting a Fourth Generation i7. Its a pretty powerful chip. I can run DCS just fine on stock settings for my CPU, why should he get a 4770k for an extra 30$ if overclocking would just risk degrading it faster? It's like afterburner. Yes, you'll go a little bit faster for a while, but you'll run out of fuel even faster :) Edits done because typing in anger is awesome!*
  23. You guys are going to run me dry. Seriously. Now I have to go buy a 512GB SSD Because DCS's Next world is probably going to be like 30 GB :( Also who else wants to bomb the strip in Sukhois? Anyone?
