  1. That is my thought too. Microsoft itself have a very clear roadmap for themselves and this is not fully focused to PC gaming. They are heading to "networked society" by any mean: PC, Xbox, mobile (phones and tablets). In this case they might be interested in AMD's APUs only... Something similar happens with Lumia. They bought just the brand Lumia from Nokia, not all. Right now Nokia is preparing to launch their first android phone... so Nokia did not died back then :D.
  2. Some years ago (year 2000 i think) I get in contact with some of graphical stations based on some 128 bits processors (they were graphical 3D CAD unix stations). Curently we are back to 64bits... Hope will not happend the same for AMD... their perfomances are curently largely ahead their competition but is a harsh world and Nvidia can hurt them a lot....
  3. First of all, we need to have AMD/Intel and AMD/Nvidia competition in place. Monopol on this area will have negative impact on us , the customers. If the CPU fight is quite clear and AMD just set their position on the market as the cheapest choice, on GPU the situation is a bit unclear for now. On long term if Nvidia will not re-assess their workarounds embedeed in their drivers and will not try to use DirectX API as straight as possible, as AMD is already doing, then I think the AMD GPU can have a greater success. Right now DirectX12 just put Nvidia in knees in front of AMD with the parallel processing feature... is not very mediated this situation for now but will come up soon. Will see how Nvidia new series can handle this, but will not be easy to discard or rework all "last moment" workarounds they did to adapt to each important game/engine in the market. And one think was never changed: ATI/AMD GPU presents ALWAYS sharper images than Nvidia... it always looked better than their direct competitor.
  4. As Sith told, 16GB for gaming is generally enough.
  5. Quite old machine if you have a 660TI card there. Consider upgrading your video card to something with 4GB at least and also a 64bit OS is mandatory so that you might be able to play on high settings. AMD cards are curently a good option too.
  6. Any software filtering option will be translated in lag in your inputs, even it is vJoy or something internal DCS (the filtering principle is the same). The only real good option is the hardware filtering. LeoBodnar BU0386X have this feature hardware embeded. Same for the MFG pedals. So, consider hardware tuning by changing your wear pots with new/professional ones or even try to adapt some hall sensors. Is not that complicated and the benefit will exceed any software filtering option.
  7. Would be very nice in future that general menus be a bit scalable, having here in mind high resolutions like 4K. There is a plenty of workspace on 4K (and other lower as well) resolution but I still need to horizontal scroll the configuration commands menu to assign the functions to all my USB devices. Multiplayer menu - this is far way better then was before however but it still needs some basic functionalities: - header should allow sorting - by ping, uptime, number of current users - filtering is needed - by map, by avaialbilty (passworded or not), by any word in server name - possibility to use arrows keys to navigate on server list. Current footer server description is something very well done, if you will add few more extra features as those described above it will be a very friendly menu. Very nice feature of search in Control Configuration menu. maybe can be used to multiplayer menu too. One more think for future is to organize modules by types somehow: jet, propellers, heli, map, missions, whatever. This have to be applied to your store too.
  8. I am reffering 100% to the future dedicated server which was promised by ED some time ago. This will come with 2.0 or a bit later... we will see!
  9. A dedicated server will just host a mission, including map, modules or other mods. That will not however let you play the game but to connect to it as a client. And as a client you have to have all that maps, modules, mods bought and installed otherwise you cannot login. The future dedicated server is an background process (service) only !!!
  10. Just listen today Matt's video and was mentioned that a dedicated server will need the map to be bought in order to be used. Well, from my point of view this can a be a kind of drawback in future. For example I am considering hosting a dedicated server on a separate dedicated user account. Adding extra cost on this low level activity can put away other potential future customers because number of dedicated servers could be substantially lower. ED/Wags please have some further internal discussions and consider a kind of check if the .exe is a client or a dedicated server.... !!! Allow people obtain a free special code for their dedicated server so that you'll never loose control of your data. For sure you can earn a lot more by letting the number of servers to grow adding in that way a lot more customers to your database...
  11. On DCS 1.5 seems that SU-25A change the target lock behavior even more. Actually seems that locking is not stable at all and is lost and first small correction on airplane path. Any idea somebody? ED, are you working on SU-25A?
  12. Thank you both for quick answer and specially for very nice work of Skatezilla... So, it seems all default skins needs a redone to add some more reflectiveness. Hopefully ED will address this as low priority somewhere in future. Edit: just tested the skins, they are looking astonishing
  13. For some reason I cannot see those nice shiny metal on the planes, similar to what I saw in the various promos. I have tried Mig15, Sabre, Mustang... etc... Can be this related to my GPUs? anybody else with 770GTX having similar behavior? My SLI had to be previously enforced via Nvidia Inspector for EDGE. Lots of strange things on my side :(
  14. Now is your news turn Leatherneck :)
  15. Dammit... every setting I checked before showed me the fullscreen was on... the game looks as full screen too, then I just forced full screen as you said and surprise... it goes to full screen. There is something wrong with fullscreen on DCS level...
  16. have a look in attached screen were to find that options
  17. JPS2K, thank you, I was just overlooking that property. Now found it and set it and both GPU are working... at least this is what the monitoring tool is reporting to me.
  18. Davidzill, I am not the one who managed to get SLI working yet. That one is JPS2K :D
  19. Yes, blackshark profile.
  20. Can you be more explicit please? Where did you set the GPU count? PS: I am running in Win8.1
  21. Same here, also added another topic about SLI ... might be related...
  22. My SLI looks like is not fully used. One GPU goes to 98% while the second one remains on 10%. My PC details are in the signature.
  23. Pretty ggod download rate here in Romania :) : 15 MB/s Oh, did I say god job ED ? :D
  24. We have a new day ahead and I hope the devs managed to have some rest. Anyway, is clear we will have a very busy weekend. ;)
