  1. French cockpit design is easy to understand and straightforward. It’s simple to learn the M2K
  2. Nothing really. There was a comment somewhere that stated something about the radar display being worked on. The fact they said display to me meant the radar was most likely functional codewise but the display was tough to get right. What else needs to be available on the F1CE prior to release?
  3. Me thinks the Radar CRT is functional.......
  4. Well the high wing with small area is where the similarities begin. This was to allow good acceleration and good t/o and landing performance. It contributed to a better low level/high speed comfort in ride performance over low wing loaded large area wings in modern designs
  5. What other paint schemes besides the Spanish F1E available launch?
  6. Ill say before June.
  7. It does not have high thrust to weight. It has a high mounted conventional wing that offers better take off and landing performance and load ability over a pure delta. At the very best we get 15k out of the turbojet- not bad for the time. However the weapon load is unrelated to your engine thrust and determined by the airframe design. The wings need only support weapons and the dual wheel design at all 3 landing gear disperses weight well.
  8. I'd say its reasonable to expect an F1E with unguided ground munitions, guns, AIM-9 and fuel tanks. If we get the radar it will be A-A modes only.
  9. We are getting the Spanish Mirage F1CE and F1CM. Will we get the big Iraqi Fuel tank for long ferry flights? I'd assume we would if we are getting the Exocet. That would be up to ED though correct as ED owns all weapons now right? I know we have seen the skins only, but it would be nice to get at least the F1CT, if not the F1CR.
  10. Why? 8-9 G should warp the wing and damage your devices- it won't snap the wing off until insane loads are put on- like 11g sustained for more than a moment
  11. Indeed there are flight controls on the Mirage F1 that have no mechanical linkage to the cockpit- only the servo accumulator IIRC
  12. Please note the missile guidance is an ED limitation right now- its not limited based on what HB can provide- just what the sim can provide currently.
  13. we are all anxious... I recommend reading World Air Power Journal volume 17- Mirage F1 is the focus aircraft.
  14. the CT rangefinder is pretty round, The CR camera panel is flatter but has angles on the side.
  15. If it is just external models I will be ok with it.
  16. FBW controls doesnt define a generation of fighter although they show up with 4th gen. MiG-29A-S, F-15A-E are not FBW either. Tornado F3 is a compromise. THe design is for a penetrating low level jet. Has one engine tuned for low level and one for high altitude, but it is FBW. Complete trash in a turning fight. F4s should be able to handle it in a dogfight. Great radar though once it finally showed up- served a good portion of its career without a radar.
  17. Choosing to merge with a foe that has a superior advantage in maneuverability and power is a Junior Officer decision. The Tomcat wasn't built to win a war of attrition- but to kill many and come home. Shoot your BVR shots- merge only with a numbers or angles advantage. I mid fuel Flanker or Fulcrum with light weapons load should eat your lunch in BFM, bar none, every time. You will need "tricks" to out smart him and force a mistake, but BFM? You loose. You're too heavy, despite the charts and the airshows, a tomcat has no business going against an equal pilot in a MiG-29 or Fulcrum one on one. If you win, you trick them or played against their blind spot. You're BFM is very good in a Tomcat, but the BFM capabilities for those two Red Air fighters is superior. If you are the better pilot- do what you want, just know that those two airframes are better at gas guzzling BFM. IRL you will have briefs on the readiness and status of your opponent to the best extent possible, and the question of merging will have been answered before you ever walked to your jet.
  18. In Desert Storm 1 in 1991, the Allied coalition regarded the Mirage F1 as the greatest air to air threat with the best pilots- over the MiG-29s even. This didn't pan out as it doesn't seem like they were used in an air to air role in Desert Storm.
  19. Ditto. The Mirage F1 is a very capable beast. I am very excited to buy this module.
  20. SAHR missiles work best in closing engagements. Shoot them in the face with it.
  21. Pulse does not have a max range of 60
  22. DO you have plane captain names on the NLG doors? I knew a few guys that were in 201 at the end of the tomcat era.
  23. Hornet loadouts still borked during the alpha strike- not urgent just letting you know if you fixed it and it didnt take
