U are so wrong. Manuals waren`t (and aren`t) issued inaccurately. If we talking about allowed manifold presurre, Mustangs were built in some standard, let say "global standard or factory standard" like other planes and it was 67" inHg in case of manifold pressure and with some equipment. And this standard was covered by "factory" manuals, like Pilot operating manual, Maintenance instruction and etc. But before planes reached frontline unit, they had undewent several modifications which were required for particular battlefield, IFF, radio, specific navigation devices and others or engine upgrade. These modifications were covered by different kind of T.O., bulletins ... and not by factory manuals. 75" inHg upgrade were covered by several documends and they weren`t mandatory for all Mustangs but this particular modification was released only for ETO, 8th AF exactly, and the other Mustang users did not do it. During long Mustang service, 75" inHg was used for short time and only one user but yes the most know and famous. So, if DCS is 8th AF simulation, 75(72)inHg will be necessary but it is not now.

DCS P-51D does not have IFF device only non-functional control box, so P-51 does not need IFF antenna. DCS P-51D`s antennas match instaled radio equipment. btw. IFF antenna was placed under right wing, behind wheel bay. It is barely visible on photos, because it was thin rod.

are u sure? AN/ARC-3 radio set was after war (1948 ) instalation in F (T/F)-51D but bottom antenna was installed in P-51D during spring 45 with UncleDog... Upper antennas are for AN/ARA-8 homing adapter (UncleDog). Bottom antenna is for radio set SCR-552-A, it was moved from up because of AN/ARA-8 antennas. No mix of radio equipment is in DCS P-51D, only battery behind cockpit should be replaced by SCR-695-A IFF and DCS P-51D layout fit exactly 7.AF`s P-51D on IwoJima, spring/summer 45 or short post war Ponies. Engine in early 44 and mid '45 PTO Mustang is the same....

looks perfect for me  I CAN'T WAIT

I have similar experience, one. After start engine, fuel pressure did not increased from zero and engine ran less tham one minute and went quiet. I switched all what i needed (fuel booster pumps also) but it happened. Next flight everything worked correctly. It was on public server.

I am trying to imagine how does pilot keep spring loaded switch during flight in UP possition for High supercharger. It is nonsence... Pilot has two flight options for it, fully automatic or manual ONLY 1st supercharger speed. 3rd switch possition is only for test, nothing more...

it is OK, no problem here it was only reason why i took external fuel with 10% fuel internal, to measure time when MW run out, and MW pressure started to go down in same time with external fuel or without it, so perhaps no MW content is effected by external fuel choice (and there is no reson for it, IMO) and last one, i just confirm fact that contents of internal fuel goes with contents of MW in tank, i do not have idea if it is wrong or not (although i prefer only simply full or empty MW tank)
-
No separate indicator is necessary, siple test is enough. I took 10% fuel and external fuel tank and I flew with full power with MW and MW ran out after approximately 5 minutes. When i tried it without external fuel i was without fuel before MW ran out :)... But MW pressure starts go down after approx. 2,5 min. in all cases with 10% fuel. so, I think rel4y is right with his complain about MW

For OpenBeta it works after today`s update. No update for Stable.

This is right, oil pressure is above limit when you load engine and oil temperature is under 50-60°C. It looks like that two patches before soething has been changed with oil coolant automatic . At low altitude with 2700RPM/46inHg engine setting and during level speed oil temperature is too high and only help is open oil coolant manualy. I am sure it was not in past, it worked "different". But water coolant looks right, or i do not recognize any change or problem with it.

How similar is the K4 to the G10 or G14
saburo_cz replied to TheJay15's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
I forget one from the most important things, the weapon. G-10 carried 20mm cannon, except relatively small production G10/U4 model which had same weapon like K-4, 30mm cannon. And, I would like to see any earlier Bf model on the DCS World`s sky, mainly G-10 ERLA with different engine cowl and G6 or G14 with AS engine :). -
How similar is the K4 to the G10 or G14
saburo_cz replied to TheJay15's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Not really. G-10 was considered something like Gmodels parts with K-4 engine, so G-10 and K-4 used same engine (both model were produced in same time, G-10 was in fact slightly later model than K-4). Many G-10 (who knows how many..) were equiped with same tail unit like K-4 but certain number was still with tail from early G-6. A lot of K-4 were not equiped with retractable tail wheel nor full cover for main L/Gs and they did not differ from G-10. Many G-10 was with the bigest Bfs wheels like K-4 with same bulges on wings. Several upgraded parts was planed for K-4, like new flaps, ailerons and so on, but none of them were used in production, wings were same for late G-10 and K-4. The main difference between them was moving radio equipmentone one frame forward. -
Let me show you (or some from you) several picture which make this debate in fact pointless. means "tuning" 5-10km/h if we does not know exact condition (or calculations) for real tests which we try to catch Not mean it as a offence, please. These pictures were taken during three test performed the same way : take off from RWY at Batumi with coolants AUTO and I flew straight at altitude from 5 to 15 meters with engine setting 61" 3000RPM, all flights took 5 minutes (see watch in cockpit). I only changed temperature and season, QNH was 760 in all three cases. Summer - 1st June - temp +20° - 552km/h (it is stock map setting) Spring - 1st May - temp +15° - 562Km/h Winter - 1st February - temp +5° - 572km/h btw. i have found note from test for previous version 1.5.2 and speed for stock map was 547km/h I never tested Pony with 67"inHG, because I do not use it, 61 is enough to kill LW enemy at most time :). IMHO speed is not problem, or i do not see nothing bad with it but there is some issue with oil coolant automatic. If I fly with max. continuous setting (under 10000ft) oil temperature is same at is it at all cockpit pictures, too hot, and only way to get it to "green" is open manualy oil coolant for at least 5sec. Please ED testers can you check it.

Signal Pistol can't be removed?
saburo_cz replied to metalfan_6666's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
confirm it and add to lost possibility to remove MW50 in editor, if I set empty tank in editor, i will have full MW50 tank in game, no chance to fly with empty tank... -
Bf109k4 adjustded drag - 1.5.3
saburo_cz replied to Anatoli-Kagari9's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
LCtrl + Y are that keys which switch between IAS and TAS or switch-off info bar. -
You can not, only map builder can do it in map editor and several Bfs have (or had?) note on the plane list : "No flare gun" they shoul be without it. Pony is the easiest to handle it, both LW planes are really hard to learn and lot of players end with them when they are not able to perform take off or landing...

Hi, it is not generaly true, i always prefer play with Pony but very often (for instance yesterday) i played with Dora because blue side was "overcrowded" and red is nearly empty. Yes, sometimes it is vice versa.

Relative performance of the Mustang, the 109 and the 190
saburo_cz replied to Reflected's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
btw. DCS P-51D is like model from spring 1945 (late -20, -25 and -30) according to its equipment, no one Pony had this in cockpit in 1944, IMHO "1945" K-4 and D9 pefectly match with this late Pony, all come from exactly same period, do not see here any problem -
How do you fly the p51d when dogfighting...
saburo_cz replied to Anatoli-Kagari9's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
Less fuel will increase turning ability but not really speed. With less fuel (about 50%) Pony can "easy" win fight against Bf (but it still mainly depends on situation). P-51B/C/D/K had same fuel tanks. Earlier models had lower amount of fuel. -
Speed is essential. If you fly fast you can fly at 61" 3000rpm as long as you have fuel. But at low speeds air flowing throught radiator is not sufficient to cool coolant fluid and oil and engine could be killed wery fast (means before time limits).
-
Dora does not have manual mode for radiator flaps as we understand it. You only change target coolant tamperature and automatic will try keep it. So if you change it, you can return it on to "default" setting only by couting rotations control wheels or by looking and evaluation coolant temperature. Any "automatic-mode" switch is there.

Altimeter and spedometer dropping to zero
saburo_cz replied to Mud's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
May be but why is Pony not affected to? Only Dora and K-4 have this issue. -
Altimeter and spedometer dropping to zero
saburo_cz replied to Mud's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
At 8km altitude is really cold even map is set to summer conditions. There is probably something wrong with pitot tube heating for both Luftwaffe fighters (Dora has "it" too). Unfortunately no one has proved it as a bug so far with evidence and exact conditions.
