  1. TF51 (civ Pony) is the free2play content of DCSW. You need to buy P51 module to get the combat version of Pony. Good multiplayer community you can find, as mentioned, around the Dogs Of War server And yes, P51 is worth the money in the multiplayer environment. But be aware that it is still far away from replication of the WWII. But who cares? ;) even the P51 vs P51 is great fun.
  2. I don't know if it is particularly well-chosen to compare the camera shots with something we see in the game or real life related specially to propellers. Good example is the propeller effect seen e.g. on this vid. It will be silly to ask A2A to change their FSX C172 propeller effect to match this vid. 1uFlReovvnI T}{OR, did you see the 51 prop on some airshow? Does it look like the same as on the pictures you posted?
  3. Imho P51 behaves quite well on the ground especially during the landing. Yesterday I bounced at touchdown but only once - I realized that my 3point attitude was not correct and made the small correction by pulling the stick and the second touchdown was just smooth :joystick: What is my problem from time to time are the takeoffs :book:
  4. This could be cool as separate payware add-on as Accu-Sim is (does A2A plane to start developing for DCSW? ;) )
  5. But still I wish I wish I wish that developers will make the stick & throttle toggle visible/invisible :) Ach the RL!? ..are you able to map in P51D more then one button on your HOTAS throttle? So where is your RL now?
  6. T_A I am having a problem believing that you are guessing if developers will put effort in this or that. ;) THIS IS WISHLIST!!! :D I dont know if it is simulation of RL to have the pilot body in cockpit or not (and they put the effort in it). My body is in my cockpit, my stick and throttle is in my cockpit... Thats why it would be nice to have it toggable (not necessarily with the body) , so everyone is happy :)
  7. it is a game not RL ;) my point is that it was quite easy for pilot to look around the cockpit. so why not to make it also easier for us gamers? and yes, trackir is not the solution for everything
  8. It will be cool if we can make the controls visible/invisible. In some planes (e.g. P51) they cover some gauges/switches and for people without trackir (or similar hw) will be much easier to spot them. And what about to have the stick and throttle toggable visible/invisible together with the pilot body?
  9. David, maybe in 109 they dont cover anything, but in P51 for example throttle does. but this is not discussion for 109 thread.. o.... over and out (see you in wish list) ;)
  10. why it is good idea to toggle on/off the visibility of flare gun? because for people not using trackir or any other similar hw it makes spotting the gauges little bit harder (and the same applies to stick/throttle). Btw and maybe because pilots had the flare gun attached to their flying suits (who knows): http://leuchtpistole.free.fr/Sommaire/En_Photos.html
  11. Flanker52 if you really looking for something like AirWarrior, then do not expect anything close from il21946, il2CLOD, il2BOS, ROF etc. They just provide online dedicated servers with not many ongoing campaigns/wars (you need to search deep the net to find something like). Even if younger (graphically particularly) they suffer from very poor online gameplay design as they were designed not as online sims in the first place. Go and have a look on these examples AcesHighII (monthly subscription) - massive online sim with ongoing dynamic war with capturing territory, supply etc. Historical scenarios taking place on regular basis Battleground Europe (Free2Play) - massive online world war II (ETO theater) with possibility to fly (planes), drive (ground vehicles), swim (ships), run (soldiers) Lets say also (Free2Play) - but only small arenas up to 32v32 players (or 16v16 max? not sure) and no online dynamic campaign yet. The thing in question can be the expression 'Most Realistic'. It can be in relation to FM/DM, or in relation to Combat Environment, or in relation to something else. Everyone have his oven preferences.
  12. I am still thinking how did you mean that "how far we've come"!? You mean like graphics (only) ? ;) I have also F117 from GOG and it works perfect on my Win7 64bit. Btw the DOSBox emulator is part of the game folder, so no need to run DB first then the game inside it. One exe do it all.
  13. I mean that exterior pictures taken from frontal hemisphere. I know that propeller blades are painted black :) but when the propeller is spinning it isn't nearly noticeable no matter the color used (of course depends on rpm's). And what about the stick/throttle? It will be imho perfect to have them also toggle visible/invisible (for any plane).
  14. Maico you said 'Fun in F86'? What about some exotic air combat/air combat training? Lets pretend you are american instructor sent to Taiwan ...and Taiwan later received F86F So you as an american instructor will train Taiwanese pilots in Dissimilar Air Combat - P51D vs F86F Have Fun! ;)
  15. The sreenshots (latest DCS2.0).. the depiction of rotating propeller blades in exterior shots is imho overdone - too dark. Does anyone developed the same feelings? :) but maybe WIP.. Pictures from inside the cockpit on the other side look awesome - propeller isn't really noticeable.
  16. I think virtual combo and civ pilots have really much in common. It is obvious from this particular examples DCS TF51 and FSX TACPACK (not really first cross-examples on the market). Yes, Beach put it little bit 'extreme' - C172 sightseeing - but hey, what about recon (Camberra), ecm (EF111), refueling/cargo (KC46), etc. kind of planes? Are they combat? Are they civil? I would say the third option [from poll], little bit from BOTH (yes, I also can understand the poll my way). ;) So we can all meet in one single environment with people doing combo stuff and other bunch doing 'civ' stuff (remember movie Air America? civ pilot hired to do some cargo flying 'under fire'). And imho there is no need to restrict the MP session somehow. If you are up to the task to knockout the Su27 with your F86 then go get 'em boy! If you can crawl low-level with C-17 from one base to other then feel free... But.. I dont want to know where ED with DCS is planing to go. If I will know, maybe I will be disappointed (sweet ignorance) :pilotfly:
  17. With so detailed systems modeling we (with little spare time) will all stuck on the civil (learning / practicing) side of this simulation :D
  18. Hmmm, F86 vs MiG21? Very interesting!!! I like the history of these not so well known air conflicts. And I found the story: Air Defence in Northern Sector - 1971 War by KAISER TUFAIL and most likely the guncam shots https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTtHs-WkXhynN7rBR-IMO9Y62j4IVTTTCtMRdbiHRUhOkxptZAEjQ PS: in the poll for new theater I vote for INDO-PAKISTAN of course
  19. I set my 4th & 5th mouseButtons (to Ctrl & Shift fcn) in Win if you asking this. Ingame the buttons acts like normal keyboard keys. I can't afford TrackIR 5. I can't set aside so much money. So I am happy with the mouse. In the end it is aaalmost the same, you move your head I move my hand :)
  20. Weird, I had the same feelings few days ago :) but heloguy you melted it to act  So here is mine - Thank you for all the great work ED! Especially DCS51, superb model, VC, FM, manual..
  21. Nice! I definitely need to try this, I wasn't aware. I am completely HOMAS man :) I use 5buttons mouse MS IntelliMouse Optical. Two mouse buttons mapped as Ctrl and Shift. So together with joystick I can have a plenty of key combinations mouseCtrl+JoyButtnonX, mouseShift+JoyButtonX.... switching between looking/clicking with mouseCtrl+WheelButton. One thing I am missing hard in DCS is possibility to map throttle to mouse wheel. ED pleeease! (I need to write to wish list  ) I am operating throttle with joybuttons at the moment. Or is there any script-way to do this? Anyway, if you look into Control Assignment menu and search for the possible mouse button assignments you will see it is very very very limited. PS: this one should be perfect fit for HOMAS setup Logitech G300 Gaming Mouse (sooo many buttons) :)
  22. Hardpoint racks and additional armor can now be disabled Can anyone advise me how to manage this? thx ina
  23. Hey, I use also mouse for simming, as mentioned as HOMAS :) It works perfect in IL2 1946 & ROF for example. But I have encountered problems in DCS. Am I able to map somehow throttle on mouse wheel, or on mouse L/R buttons? Can anyone help me out with this? (P51) thx
  24. I see, but.. ;) I know that Su-25 and A-10A are different level then A-10C, BS2, ... but they are still DCS DLCs, aren't they? So in my modest opinion these should go something like this DCS: A-10A (Flaming Cliffs version) - DLC DCS: Su-25 (Flaming Cliffs version) - DLC I know, silly problems :pilotfly:
