  1. Some general information about K4 paint schemes from Wolowski's book "Bf 109 Late versions camouflage & markings". Might be handy for skin makers.
  2. Allison V-1710. But i guess it will never fly with that engine.
  3. ^Agreed. A bit off-topic, but Eduard has released something that should interest all 109 & beer fans: http://www.eduard.com/store/Eduard/Eduard-Gustav-Beer-glass-collection.html?cur=1&listtype=search&searchparam=glass Looks pretty nice, i might order one set...:)
  4. Indeed! :clap_2:
  5. In my opinion, any knowledge, information, pics, drawings, charts, bolts & nuts etc. are very welcome to this thread, unless it will become endless (and mindless) debate that will not get anywhere.
  6. That is great to hear! Sorry about bit off-topic, but what about 109? Do they have any wartime pilots helping?
  7. Yeah, Flugwerk replicas are nice but that area over engine/nose are not too authentic looking. Still lovely birds! Their D9/n looks more like real deal IMO, sadly no flying example around yet. I've heard rumours that there might be couple ones in future with original Jumo's...
  8. It's good to know that if game sounds will be disappointment there's replacement sounds already available :) Damn that idle sound is so sexy...great work!
  9. Zero. They were already replaced by G-models in 1942/43.
  10. Yes, there's also few pics of G6's with outer landing gear covers like K4. Maybe they just used all parts that was available at the moment.
  11. Well F would not have fit in '44 scenario in any way. G14, G6/AS, G10 would all have been good choices but as said before, maybe later.
  12. Yeah many (most?) of pictures shows G ailerons as they were already available to use. Source for pilot notes? Just curious because i've not heard this before.
  13. Well, i'm pretty sure we will get "lesser" types too later. From ED or third party devs. And in this case, extra speed and much better climb rate we get with K4 is definitely worth of sacrificing some manouverability IMO. I'm sure there won't be big difference in manouverability as K4 was not much heavier than G6 for exampe (~200kg) and K has flettners on ailerons.
  14. For 1944 scenario, yes. Of course it would be fun to have "ultra late" versions too with Berlin map in future... Yeah saw that in Jug thread hence i post that oiled 109 picture :D
  15. Did you mean Gustav instead of Friedrich? :) I still found weird their claim that little documentation was available about G-models. G6/AS, G14, G10 would all have been basically G6's with different engines so plenty of data should be available. K4 data should be much more rare instead. But maybe devs have their own sources. I'm not complaning, on the contrary i'm very glad that we will have DCS level K4 to fly.
  16. Jugs were not only planes that could take their pilots home safely even with punched oiltank. :smilewink:
  17. M model was piece of garbage (;)) until they got it working in april '45. Then it was already too late.
  18. LOL we'll see :) Personally i've got overdose for early versions with CLOD (as good as it's now with TF) so for me it's refreshing to see all those late models.
  19. +1, there is already threads for those aircrafts. Whatever versions of planes we will finally got the game, i think its pretty safe to say all of those are so close to each other in performance that it will be again situation and the pilot that makes the difference.
  20. Yeah it's awesome collection. Lot's of rare Erla G10, K4 etc pictures.
  21. I'm not the one who is trolling here. But you're right, i will stop right here because your childish comments are not worth of answering.
  22. Personally i don't care about gyro gunsight. I'm too used to old school fixed one, i always use fixed when dogfighting against Dora with Mustang.
  23. Tempest was great fighter, no doubt about it. But please also note that when Tempest entered to service, there was only handful of Experten left in Luftwaffe. Rest of them were green pilots with only few hours of combat flying (if all) and poor training. It did not matter much wich plane they were flying, or against. Pierre Clostermann, Tempest ace himself wrote that he did keep warning his pilots to NOT enter dogfights against 109's under 500km/h where Messerschmitts turn better or over 5000 meters because 109 had better performance over that height.
  24. I guess he meant from planeset that will be available in DCS:WW2 Not if dogfight happened under 500km/h or over 5000 meters ;)
