I personally think the lights are modelled accurately compared to the real Gazelle
-
I'd say buy it without hesitation and get onto the Cold War server we need more Gazelle pilots on there! Agree with much of the above observations and yes more work could be done on it but overall I reckon you'll very much enjoy it as once you get the hang of it it's a fun to fly helicopter.

Have heard of a SA341B used by the British Army modified to carry 68mm SNEB rockets. A slightly large image of the Lebanese helicopter with said SNEB.

Auto Hover and auto collecting not working for me
Count von Altibar replied to Simon1279's topic in SA-342M Gazelle
It really is important to use the dop on the Artificial Horizon (AH) otherwise it can be very difficult and time consuming to get into auto hover imho. -
A very interesting discussion and a fantastic video from CHPL that has inspired quite a lot of people to persist with and some (like me) to purchase the model. Many thanks for the video, I'm having fun experimenting with the different parameters. Hopefully the Polychop update will arrive soon we'll see what that brings.

Mic switch activating everytime the comms menu appears
Count von Altibar replied to InvalidFace's topic in DCS: F-5E
Is this a viacom pro and srs being used in tandem issue? I have the same problem and it's annoying for sure a fix would be appreciated. I might try removing viacom and seeing what happens. I hear this clicking a lot on the MP server I use must be an issue for quite a few guys. -
Got it working also, many thanks for the speedy resolution!

It's just takes time rome57, not as long as some other modules. Worth doing a bit of axis tuning, a few videos on youtube and stuff on these forums to help if you search for it. It will really allow you to get the most out of the F5. PS Still having the yaw issues seems to happen in a certain speed range I understand ED are onto a fix for it which is great. Switching the YD off definitely works in the meantime.

I have just purchased LotAtc with a view to using it on the Cold War server, didn't realise it doesn't work as yet! I will try and connect later this evening but from what I read above might not happen!? Has anyone managed to connect LotAtc to the cold war server..? PS Have purchased the Gazelle, looking forward to using it on the two towns I think that's a great mission btw, well done!

More Coalitions (not just Blue & Red)
Count von Altibar replied to Alpenwolf's topic in DCS Core Wish List
This sounds like a logical idea that'll make DCS even more realistic giving the mission creators more scope to match real world battles. -
"Northrop F5 Walk Around" by One of Its Test Pilots
Count von Altibar replied to DieHard's topic in DCS: F-5E
great video, thanks for posting that it's very informative. Interesting about the ejector option. That guy must have had a great time delivering and teaching those jets to air forces all over the world. -
I'm in full agreement with you guys, cold war era stuff is the way to go. The systems on the modern fighters I find too tedious, prefer to enjoy the flying more and there's something about the older aircraft I'm naturally drawn to.

I have been having this last 3 weeks or so. I have resorted to switching off the yaw damper which seems to work but we definitely need a fix for it.

Server going great again had some good craic last night nice good balance of red/blue. Highlight for me being a chap flying the Harrier at Vaziani doing an impromptu mini display there, man he could really fly that bird with precision and what a sound it makes when landing. Just purchased the half-price Viggen and Mig-15 to have more options for cold war server ops.

How do you all think the MIG-15 Performs?
Count von Altibar replied to Harley Davidson's topic in DCS: MiG-15bis
I got in a tangle in my F5 this evening with an all red Mig-15 and I ended up having to RTB due fuel. The Mig-15 is a very potent aircraft that was clear to me. Decision made, going to give it a try. Any of you guys who want to fly it multiplayer should have a look at the Cold War server it's really really good and all geared up for the older style of jets. -

Interesting to read all these posts with the current sale on and these positive reports I'm very tempted to go for it. -
Sabre External RoughMets Now active?
Count von Altibar replied to ==Wiggy=='s topic in DCS: F-86F Sabre
They're bloody gorgeous skins, great work! -
Yep no sign at all

There's a good lot of info on youtube. If you type into google 'growling sidewinder brevity calls youtube' that'll keep you busy!

*** AI J-35 Draken AI coming to DCS World!! ***
Count von Altibar replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
The Gripen is one hell of a nice looking aircraft. Must admit I'd like to see a high fidelity model of it come to DCS, I for one would definitely go for it. -
That's exactly what I experienced PSV Tango. Switch the YD off, problem gone. I have experienced it a couple of times in my own self-created practice missions and it happens only now and again. Have experienced it in multiplayer a few times now, hopefully a fix coming soon.
-
Don't overlook the F5. Pretty straightforward layout and not overly technical to operate. Handles nicely and great on the cold war server if you want to get into multiplayer action. Also a fantastic looking aircraft ta boot.

I'm having an erroneous yaw damper issue, keep having to switch off the yaw damper last couple of days
-
Yes, I'm ready also for this fine Swedish aeroplane on sale! Will keep an eye here in hope for 2019 summer sale.
