  1. These threads are always a fun read! Though personally I'm excited by everything announced for DCS. Just a little sad nobody seems to be doing any early air warfare modules. DCS Fokker Eindecker anyone?
  2. Oscilliscope would be a start I guess
  3. Never noticed anything other than control loadings and buffet (which is probably exagerated) Forces are FAR too weak though.
  4. Not broken. Thats how g940's are. You can reduce the notchiness but not the dead zone. MSFFB2 is nicer feeling.
  5. Kurfurst i'd have thought you could operate a 109 blindfolded! Hopefully the DCS version will match up nicely with real world manuals.
  6. Also anyone struggling should check rudder and take off assist are OFF. It just makes things harder as you end up fighting it.
  7. guessing it would be at least as resource hungry as the mirrors? perhaps in a few years? Also maybe its not such a problem as people think.... as it effects all aircraft! We should be able to see a little further over the nose of the P51 too. Although i agree its not as big a deal as with the dora.
  8. We can't allow the legendary bar debate to end! This is clearly an edited video. It's propaganda from those baby eating no-bar-ists:lol: Seriously though does anyone have any idea if it would be possible to impkement defraction into DCS?
  9. Dont forget lag. You may have seen it hit his rudder but it may have struck the nose of the aircraft at his end. Also the visual damage doesnt show actual damage.
  10. Agreed the prop governer seems to be made of glass. Did you take any damage before your guns stopped?
  11. Head tracking is a must have. If trackir is prohibitively expensive check out FacetrackNoIR. Its free and works with just a webcam. PS3 eye cam is neant to be best and is dirt cheap on ebay. Then you can use cockpit view and track other aircraft easily.
  12. I had a similar problem. Try setting your pitch and roll curves to zero. Worked for me!
  13. looks like keyboard is being used rather than a joystick! What stick are you using? Have you set any curves on the axis? As setting curves the wrong way could lead to near instant full control deflection. Just had another thought. Try applying full left right up down on the stick before flight. As occasionally I find my calibration is lost if the joystick has been unplugged. So it sees any deflection as full deflection.
  14. Rarely lose a wing if you are smooth on the controls in my experience. But It does seem to me they come off a little too readily!
  15. MMMM Shinies! Another one for me to download and try to edit, and fail horribly!
  16. already turned shadows off. From what i've read its a driver issue.
  17. Still have judder... but its tolerable. Will keep looking into it!
  18. My dk2 arrived. Tried in dcs following the advice to pause thd service etc but its killing my frame rate and head tracking is lagging a lot. Anybody know how to get it working as smoothly as in thd vids ive seen? Specs: haswell i7@ 4.75ghz, 2x gtx 780ti, 16gb RAM. My initial impressions are that dk2 is great for its intended use but CV1 needs to have a far higher resolution. Honestly I think 4k may be a requirement unless they can alter the optics to improve the density of pixels in tge centre of the FOV Edit: Im a moron! Didn't have rift set as primary monitor. Seems sorted now!
  19. Ah well! They should still ruin ground targets day quite nicely!
  20. Are we only getting the 23mm gunpods or are there others too?
  21. Is that soon or Soon? :D Seriosly though I think its going to be worth the wait!
  22. I have my FoV on a slider but i've seen people argue this is "cheating" as we cant zoom in in real life.... I dont think people will ever agree to a standard so we'll see how things go post edge if a fix is still needed. DX10/11 features may mean contact spotting gets a lot easier anyway My preferred method if measures were to be taken under the current engine would be more intelligent labels. Ones dont appear through cockpits and don't give you unrealistic info. E.g no label until the average pilot could spot another aircraft in real life. Then just a dot in a colour aproximating the A/C's colour from that angle , lighting etc. Once close enough the average pilot could ID it as single or multi engine etc somehow show that too. Once close enough to see easily in game without labels drop them entirely. But once in range to read tail numbers etc in real life (say 200 m?) Then have that displayed when at an angle that would allow it (useful for to quickly form with wingman correctly if you lose each other in a furball)
  23. Thats pretty cool! I'm hoping we see more things like this!
  24. Haven't seen that switch panel in other threads so does that mean it only appears when the relevant pods are fitted?
  25. Regarding stutter due to gunfire... Anyone noticed it in single player? It seems to me its more likely to occur after the bullets hit something. Either the ground or another aircraft so I dont think its the tracers themselves but more the calculating where they are going after impact. Cannon also dont seem to cause problems. As a lot of the shells are HE and dedtroy themselves on impact this could be evidence to support my theory
