  1. The manual is though
  2. On the stick? DLC control, and drops CM if the flaps are up.
  3. Indeed, he doesn't need AWG-9 cooling either. I think this has been reported.
  4. On for field landings, off for carrier.
  5. Depends where anti skid switch is positioned. In any case they retract the moment you open the throttles.
  6. I thought they'd fixed that?
  7. I think the appearance of the object against its surroundings also plays a role with point track, so you might have to tweak the contrast and gain.
  8. Nothing. You're doing nothing wrong. I think of bomb mode as a manual mode preset. As long as the wings sweep back to 55 degrees (as shown by the moving bug on the sweep scale) when you press your bomb mode binding, that's bomb mode. If you're thinking one of the 5 windows next to the sweep scale should say 'bomb' when you're in bomb mode, you're mistaken. The five windows on the right side show: • OFF - System inoperable. • AUTO - CADC controlling wing-sweep. • MAN - Wings set manually with the control on the right throttle. • EMER - Wings set with the emergency wing-sweep handle. • OVER - Wings in oversweep.
  9. The recordings the sim can output are black and white, displays in the aircraft are green.
  10. This was reported and (I think) acknowledged not long after release, but no fix yet.
  11. I think the auto hover just won't engage below 4m. I didn't think it disabled the AP altogether.
  12. I have 64GB of DDR4 3000. I tried to get the 8700K up to 5GHz but can't do it with air cooling, I lost the silicon lottery on this one. Still, an AIO watercooler would be a lot less than a new CPU/GPU so maybe I'll try that.
  13. What's the best upgrade for a 8700K @ 4.8GHz and a 1080ti? I play at 4K so it's always a compromise between quality and fps. I'd like to increase the view distance and have 2x AA, maybe surface texture to high. According to GPU-Z my GPU usage is around 70% when it's fairly busy, but the CPU usage doesn't get much above 30% (which I know is a misleading number) either. I know with the GPU there's no point getting anything but a 2080 Ti, so what should I do?
  14. With an 8700K @ 4.8Ghz, 1080 ti @ 1658MHz/5954MHz, and 64GB DDR4 3000, I get 50-60 with mirrors, and a more solid 60 without.
  15. Same thing happened to me as RIO yesterday when I crashed during an MP session. I was able to rejoin the same aircraft but nothing worked. My HOTAS bindings were registering in the key configuration screen, but nothing was registering in the aircraft.
  16. There is an emergency autopilot disconnect button, which perhaps you are pressing? Also, the autopilot channel lights are inverted due to a bug, so if they appear to be off they are on.
  17. I was speaking in terms of the fuel flow in relation to the throttle position, in which sense MIL is not military power...but I'll leave it there so I'm not repeating myself from my other thread.
  18. It isn't supposed to - the FF gauge does not indicate AB fuel flow. My point is that when you're at the MIL marking on the TQ, FF is a long way short of what it should be at military power. You also don't get the detent clicking sound and nozzle opening until you're at the MAX marker on the TQ, which doesn't seem right either.
  19. Sorry to ask the obvious, but have you set the laser code correctly?
  20. Good thought. Yep, that doesn't happen until the throttle is at max. When I said 'passes the max marker' before I meant that the rear edge of the throttle lever is level with the max marker. Which is where it has to be before you get any AB effects - sound, visible kick, graphical effect and nozzles opening.
  21. I'm glad it isn't just me. Can a passing admin move this to the bug forum please?
  22. Be wary of the gauges. The fuel flow gauge in particular is for the (F-14A) TF30 engines, for unknown reasons. Heatblur acknowledge this in the manual and state it will be changed eventually. Fuel flow at military power should be about 10,000pph, (per engine) and as you'll see the gauge shows completely different.
  23. They definitely have, it says so in the manual. But I don't know if it's relevant to the issue I'm describing, and it doesn't answer whether the afterburner is engaging at the right time.
  24. While trying to set up a decent throttle curve I noticed that afterburner graphics and sound effects do not kick in until the throttle passes the MAX marker on the TQ. My understanding of the manual and NATOPS is that everything above MIL is afterburner. Are the lower afterburner zones not visible/audible, is the afterburner engaging at the wrong time, or is there a problem with the TQ? Also the FF gauge does not seem to be reading correctly. According to paragraph 2.11.3 in NATOPS, on deck the FF in MIL should be around 10k (in context I read that as per-engine FF, not total), but the FF gauge at MIL only shows 5-6k. The FF gauge also rises if the throttle is increased above MIL, but the gauge is not supposed to indicate afterburner fuel flow. Surely when above MIL the only change to fuel flow is whatever is going to the afterburner. Is this something to do with it having the FF gauge for the TF30 engines?
  25. You're right. Easily fixed with manual positioning and ralt+num0 but yeah, it should be centred by default.
