  1. If you hop back in the pilot pit first you can reset the trim. But yeah, really annoying.
  2. 3 - is your master arm on? Required for stores jet. 6 - 1 for pilot cockpit, 2 for RIO.
  3. This is easy to replicate in SP. Go fly, hop to the back seat, go to F2 view, then active pause - watch as maximum pitch up trim is applied while you're not touching anything. Please fix this - it's hard enough to practice RIO stuff without a regular MP partner, and this makes it harder. Edit: interesting, after some more tinkering it appears that it goes for maximum deflection in the direction that it's currently trimmed. I tried to re-trim it to centre without unpausing, and it then applied maximum pitch down trim, so I guess slight pitch down trim was still applied.
  4. I'm getting this too. I'm using active pause in the back seat to practice RIO stuff. It seems to be exacerbated the longer you stay in active pause - if you drop out before it gets too pronounced iceman will return things to level, but past a point nothing seems to correct it.
  5. From my limited experience so far, it looks like if you begin the mission from cold start you have to input coordinates manually. For anything else - takeoff from ramp, runway, or in flight, the coordinates are already entered.
  6. There's not enough information in the HB manual to answer any of those questions. Hopefully someone with more background knowledge will be able to answer.
  7. And I still don't, I'm sorry. :( It sounds like you're saying that in super search the radar only displays targets within the cursor box. This isn't my experience, and it isn't what your screenshot shows.
  8. Your screenshots do not include the radar elevation marker, but my guess is the targets were above or below the zero-elevation point, so you would need to use the HCU thumb wheel to adjust the elevation back to where the targets were detected. As I just found out, when you are in super search the elevation resets to the centre bar (e.g if you are in 8-bar search mode, super search will scan in bar 4), so if you were in anything but 1-bar search mode, the targets may have been detected above or below the super search bar, so you would need to adjust the elevation with the HCU thumb wheel.
  9. OK, thanks for the help. :-)
  10. That makes sense, thank you. Is it supposed to remain at the bar it was at when you half action is pressed? I've just been practicing in one of the training missions and it appears to be jumping to the centre bar when you go half action, regardless of which bar it was scanning at the time. So for an 8-bar scan it appears to jump to bar 4. It does this whether it's at a higher or lower bar.
  11. Why is the target disappearing when the cursor is moved over it? Please assume a lower level of understanding than you did in this reply.
  12. Seconded. Is the bug in the manual? Or should the radar not be resetting to bar 1 in supersearch?
  13. The autopilot also acts as a stabiliser and it is extremely difficult to maintain stability without it. It is probably also a requirement for the auto-hover, but I say that without checking the manual. You can probably get by in Flight Director mode if you really want the autopilot off, but if you don't use either you're making a rod for your own back.
  14. Since the hotfix, the Jester rose appears to be a quarter of its former size, and has moved to the top left of the screen. This is in 4k.
  15. And between normal flight and AAR.. >_<
  16. HB are aware. A temporary workaround is to delete or rename the 3.lua file in %dcs folder%\aircraft\f14\cockpit\kneeboard\pages.
  17. User error - expecting social life after F-14.
  18. I don't think anyone is talking about reaching it for the first two clicks - lifting the cover and flicking the switch to the shutdown position is easy. But it is then impossible to see the switch to put it back in the auto position because it is obscured by the cover. You have to manually position the viewpoint. In trackIR this is the case, anyway.
  19. Kneeboard for your coords and altitude - shift+k default binding.
  20. Yeah, I feel like I want to qualify every minor gripe I report on here. This is hands down the most impressive module I've ever seen and I've been in DCS since Black Shark was launched, and I'm so pleased for Heatblur that it's come good after such a long development. Also, please fix the hydraulic transfer pump switch guys! >_<
  21. It think this is correct anti-skid behaviour, as the system is engaged on a hot spawn. The spoilers should drop as soon as you move.
  22. Agree, it's well demonstrated if you zoom out when engines running on the ground, and see how far away you can be and still hear the thing. It's crazy.
  23. Incorrect statement was here
  24. I got myself into a spin at about 40,000 feet earlier so I had plenty of time to try Jabbers' advice for recovery! Idle throttles, rudder against the spin, throttle up the engine opposing the spin (port engine for an a/c spin) until the nose drops, then equalise the throttles and stick to pull out of the dive. Do not use this advice to complete an F-14 check ride, my recollections are hazy!
  25. Same as OP, that they didn't have key bindings. It's only a minor quality of life issue really as you can create key bindings yourself, it's just surprising there aren't any to start with for essential controls. Edit: sorry, let me clarify. There are key bindings, but no keys actually assigned by default.
