  1. If you modify the CMDS lua manually as suggested by SCPanda, you have to re-do the changes after updates (if the file changes) and after repairs. DiCE ( https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3312680/ ) is nice. It modifies the files "real-time", so it just works.
  2. You can use CMS left in normal modes for 1 chaff + 1 flare. More specifically, I think it runs the bypass program so it's exactly the same.
  3. Sent a PM. Regarding the switchology I'd guess if you're in MARK TGP, TGP SOI, AREA track, TMS up simply creates the mark and does not command point track.
  4. Hi, Currently it's not possible to create mark points with TGP area track. DCS 2.7.10.19473 Track attached Steps taken: - Air spawn with 2xGBU-12 + TGP - Select A-G mode - Switch to CCRP - Select TGP as SOI - Slew around, switch to area track with TMS right. - Press MARK. Expected behavior: Same as with point track: - MARK page opens with TGP selected. - TMS up increments markpoint number and stores a mark. Actual behavior: - Plane switches to VIS mode - HUD as SOI - MARK page opens with HUD selected. I think current behavior is what it should do when SOI is not tracking and you press mark. But area is just another mode of tracking (just like it says in documentation, including DCS: F-16C Viper Early Access Guide p. 180), so point and area should work the same. 5. Sure does seem like it. Can you pinpoint the exact moment where I get hit by AAA? 10,000 lbs gone in under 3 minutes. In this Tacview graph you can also see some glitch in the end, about 25 seconds after the jet has shutdown. Fuel weight spikes to 6,000 lbs for about one second.
  6. Thanks, I guess that will have to do -itn
  7. Hi, How could I get ground target bulls location? Specifically bulls location, not the coordinates for my use case. Let's say I have HTS and TGP. I locate a sam using HTS and TGP. How would I get the target's bullseye location? Only way I know is switching to HSD page and slewing HSD cursor over SPI (or MARK if I created one) and then reading the HSD cursor BE location. It's somewhat cumbersome and error-prone, but it's there. Is this the only way? Are other ways/features expected for DCS Viper? What I'd like to have is BE location available in HAD and TGP, but no idea if those were available IRL and if they're coming to DCS or not.
  8. Hi, When in CMDS SEMI or AUTO, manual dispensing is not allowed when expendable is in bingo quantity or below. Note: I do NOT refer to the consent-based or automatic dispensing. I refer to dispensing manual programs 1-4 using CMS forward or program 5 using slap switch while in CMDS SEMI or AUTO mode. I believe this to be wrong, and my understanding is CMDS should inhibit only the consent-based and automatic dispensing when expendable is in bingo quantity or below. Manual dispensing using CMS forward and the slap switch should work all the way to zero expendables left just like in MAN mode. [EDIT: Also affected is program 6 using CMS left] Cycling the dispensers reset bingo as it should, and after that manual programs work again, as demonstrated in the SEMI track below. Attached are two tracks, 1) SA-11 and CMDS AUTO 2) SEMI and no threats. F16-CMDS-AUTO.trk F16-CMDS-SEMI.trk
  9. Looking forward to these binds. It gets old adding the couple lines of custom lua after every update, even with OVGME. And I guess this is a duplicate since this was previously requested in April:
  10. In many of the widely available manuals it's simply DTOS for Dive Toss. Do they actually call it DTOS for "Direct Targeting Optical Sight" in the variant modelled in DCS?
  11. I used the rotary on X52 throttle. Because of the stuttering, it was best to create a curve which gives you five separate levels of zoom (five steps in the curve). This way the analog stuttering doesn't matter because it still stays in your selected level. Of course this way you're restricted to the five or so levels of zoom, but it was better than the stuttering. This screenshot is from an older version, but this is the principle:
  12. Hi, If Cougar DGFT/MSL 3-way switch works the same way as WH boat switch, you don't bind center position. Use the special binds "DOGFIGHT/CENTER" and "MISSILE OVERRIDE/CENTER". Basically these return the control to the center position when you no longer "press" the bound button (i.e. when you return the 3-way switch to center from DGFT or MSL positions). Here's my binds for TM Warthog throttle. I suppose Cougar has a similar 3-way switch, but button numbering is likely different: Hope this helps.
  13. Hi, When F-16 has a steerpoint 25 set (in mission or in-flight), it does not work correctly as bullseye. Bullseye seems to revert to mission BE when using STPT 25 as bullseye. This is most easily seen in HUD with both active STPT and bullseye set to 25 and checking how the range does not match. DCS 2.7.8.16140 Open Beta - 18.11.2021 F-16C, Caucasus Attachments: Track file and test mission F16-STPT-BE-test.miz DCS_OB_2021-11-19_F16-STPT25-as-BE.trk
  14. Hi, Steerpoint 25 is not drawn on HSD. Also the line from STPT 24 to 25 is not drawn. My understanding is STPT 25 should be a NAV steerpoint among STPT 1-25, regardless if it's used as bullseye or not. So I believe this to be a bug? Active steerpoint indicator moves, as it should, to the STPT 25 position on HSD when 25 is selected as the active steerpoint. DCS 2.7.8.16140 Open Beta - 18.11.2021 F-16C, Caucasus Attachments: Track file and test mission There's also another bug or two when using STPT 25 as bulls. Will make another report to keep these simple. DCS_OB_2021-11-19_F16-STPT25.trk F16-STPT-BE-test.miz
  15. Hi, Don't know if this is a bug or a feature, but it happened to me and can reproduce it on my test mission. Track included. If you designate target(s) in RWS, TMS right long does not switch to TWS. You can switch to TWS using OSB, and then you can return to RWS using TMS right long. If you undesignate the designated targets in RWS using TMS down, TMS right long is again usable and switches to TWS. Br, itn F16-RWS-TMS-long-bug.trk
  16. It's not in the manual and is in no way intuitive, so don't worry. The manual specifically says you can modify the 4 actual CMS programs "Any of the four programs may be changed using the Increment/Decrement switch on the ICP to select each in sequence." (DCS: F-16C Viper Early Access Guide, 10 August 2021, p. 301). There's nothing in there about the slap switch or program 5. I use DICE and don't know if program 5 can be modified using CMS DED pages. And of course in the first place you'd have to know that program 5 is the slap program. So even though reading and re-visiting the manual once in a while is advisable in general, you would not find this information there.
  17. DICE is recommended: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3312680/ Edit program 1 for e.g. chaff only, program 5 for flares only. Bind CMS Fwd (this will be program 1) and Chaff/Flare dispense (this is slap switch, program 5). Set CMS to MAN and program 1. Now you have two buttons for manual release.
  18. Hi, I believe this it not the way it works at the moment in-game. Let me know if I should report this as a bug with track or if I misunderstood something. Test mission on Caucasus with player starting airborne as blue F-16. Bullseyes untouched, so default blue/red/neutral BEs exist in mission. I tried three different things and none of these gave me STPT 25 as bulls. First try: 1. Enter flight. Bulls is shown from the BLUE bullseye as it should. 2. Add L/L and elev to STPT 25. Note: STPTs 2 to 24 are empty. 3. Confirm STPT 25 is saved (correct bearing and distance on HUD bottom right). What I expected? Bulls from STPT 25. What happened? Bulls from mission BLUE BE. Second try: 1. Modify the mission, populating F-16 route STPTs 1 to 25. What I expected? Bulls from STPT 25. What happened? Bulls from mission BLUE BE. Third try: 1. Modify the mission file by hand, delete BLUE bullseye completely. No other changes (STPTs 1 to 25 are populated). 2. Enter flight. What I expected? Bulls from STPT 25. What happened? Bulls from mission NEUTRAL bullseye. Best regards, itn
