what I'm using as well...

here's my info. I do have my 9700k overclocked, plus the 1080 is bumped up a bit too... Also have taken into account 64GB's of RAM, (rather the configuration tool asked for that info).

When I saw the name "Hawk", my initial reaction was no way, no interest.... after those other guys folded their tent, and blew outta Dodge.... Sorry, can't help that. But to be fair, the T-45C sounds great! And I know is in no way is associated. Best of luck!

Honestly Ratfink, if you're running your 9700K at "stock" speed, you're losing a huge opportunity with that bad boy. That CPU is made for overclocking! You can easily knock that thing up to 4.8 or 4.9 with that cooler. Some have pushed it to 5.0 or even the lucky to 5.1. You'll gain so much!

Hi buddy, see my sig for my specs. I've been flying with the Rift S since it first came out with my rig. I see you have your 9700K at stock speed? I've clocked mine up to 4.9ghz for all cores. Working great for me, but I fly mostly SP.

Mower, I can only say this. If your CPU/GPU are within specs for a Rift S, indeed it'll be a flight sim changing event. There's no way a Rift S can match the resolution of a pancake/monitor display. But the immersion is more than worth it. I remember reading a post from dburne, about how during his first flight, he nearly wept because of the immersion factor. I can honestly say I felt the same way. I started out with the Rift CV1, and my first flight was with the 109. Just looking in the cockpit, like a real aircraft was incredible!!! There is no way, absolutely NO WAY I'll ever go back to pancake mode. Regardless of resolution. The key thing is whether your HW can handle the minimal specs. If it does, take the VR pill by all means!!! best wishes bro! -Jav

I've been using a 43" Samsung 4K TV for 1.5 years. Works great with ArmA3 and the other pancake mode games. (Only fly VR with DCS). :-) No lag with Doom, RDR2, or some of the other popular games. 4K TV's have been solid, and a bit cheaper... :-)
