  1. Noticed your sig >>>> Rift CV1 (yes really). Wow man! :megalol:;)
  2. Exactly. My current Rift has given me almost 2 years of VR/Sim pleasure via DCS.
  3. Indeed, I'd like to see that in the maintenance report... ;)
  4. For now, go with the VR cockpit mod. It helps immensely as we await further tech... ;)
  5. Same here. I've been using them for at least a couple of years. Rock solid performance and build. I didn't buy any of the additional stuff either.
  6. Fantastic work Jack! thanks!
  7. What?! Wow! this will be great. Woot!!!
  8. would agree, you'll end up with both at some point down the road. :-)
  9. Me too, ready to pull the trigger. ;)
  10. Can confirm, (via butt measures), this drivers does bring some improvements via previous standard missions. Will shake it out further later in the week. But definitely promising.
  11. Indeed, congrats buddy!
  12. hey now, gonna check it out. :-)
  13. good point. I lost sight of that fact.
  14. Ha, nice! But when the gig is up, dog house city eh? ;)
  15. I can already imagine the conversation with Wifey-pooh... "what do you have there??" "Oh, this babe?" "yeah, that?" "it's called an HP Reverb... It's much better than that old Oculus thingy I've been using..." "How much??" "well, it was on sale, for $599..." "and what's that??" "That? well that's just an added accessory... they call it a 2080TI, but never mind that...." ;):megalol:
  16. Wow, that is pretty cool... thanks for the post.
  17. Good point John.
  18. Skid marks drop my performance too..... (sorry, had too...) :-)
  19. Yes it is... (I've been turning some loose, here and there). ;)
  20. I'd like to go that route too... but I'll have to sell some more stock to fund it...;) What torque's me is the continual Intel security/performance issue du jour... and then the Shear Idiocy of the nVidia GPU prices...
  21. Happy Birthday Son! ;) I'm sorting through what to go with as well. Since I'm currently using a GTX1080. To me, the HP with the 2160x2160 is gonna take a rig and GPU upgrade from what I currently have. (At least my gut tells me). I don't want to upgrade the whole kit and caboodle just yet. So maybe I go Rift S and maintain my current rig. Sell the CV1, or gift it to a kid as well. Then a year or 18 months or so, I upgrade the whole rig, GPU, and with the next VR "all the fan boy rage" thingy... Before anyone pipes in... Yep, I've been around the tech block enough in my life, that I know there's always the "next thingy" around the corner... The perpetual waiting will drive us insane... ;) I've gotta sort through this. My CV1 has brought me intense flight sim pleasure for almost the last 2 years. Regardless, VR is the ONLY way to fly!
  22. Buddy, I like your style! Direct focus, no ambiguity.... Tends to reduce the a$$ hat responses... :) (but not always). I was curious too about what that thingy was, and now I know...
  23. Kind of how I read it too. It would be an interim step, and allow one to keep their existing hardware to be functional. Maybe I go this way for now. The price ain't a killer. Because at some point, I'll want to build a whole new rig for any "significant" step VR solution. That will be some huge coin... :)
