  1. Autopilot mucks with the trim and it does not reset it after it is disengaged. If you experience stick-neutral roll after disengaging autopilot, just reset the trim (or trim manually). Su-25T autopilot has similar issue.
  2. Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\DCS.exe
  3. FWIW, I consider Enemy Within a better made campaign than Ultimate Argument. I am curious what standards it did not meet? (if it's confidential then never mind).
  4. I think the knobs on the top radio have to be set to MAN (not AM) and TR.
  5. What are the rules? Do you have to land in the same direction? Does it have to be pretty? Can you use mission planner to change fuel and payload? Does the clock start when the mission starts or can you spool the engines while on brakes and start the clock when the plane starts moving? Here is my 2:11 but it all depends on the rules :) A10-C_fast_takeoff_and_landing.trk
  6. I had similar experience. Sometimes Mi-24 would talk and sometimes not. I don't know why. But even when it did, it didn't seem essential to the mission.
  7. I am currently re-flying this campaign (if this is not an endorsement then I don't know what is :)) to see if I can do things differently. I came up with this new way to accomplish Hammerfall 3. It turns out that TGP in IR mode (WHOT or BHOT) can see through a thin layer of clouds but insurgents and Strela cannot. So, if you fly in the clouds, just slightly above the cloud base, you can survey the area, mark the targets and later climb up above the clouds and destroy everything with JDAMs. Throw in CBU-87 on WP 5 for soft targets. All without single shot fired at you! And you still have 2 MAVs left for backup. Of course, the catch is that you have to be comfortable flying on instruments in the clouds and don't hit the mountains :). Watch your radar altimeter and TAD very closely! Climb up quickly after you fly over the target. Still, I did crash first couple of times... A slight variation of it is to just always fly above the clouds. TGP can still see through the clouds sometimes, but only zoomed in and only straight down. It makes finding targets pretty hard, but possible. Now, I don't know how much of this is realistic and how much is just "gaming the game" but it seems that the TGP's ability to see through clouds is implemented intentionally (for example, it degrades with increasing cloud thickness) rather than as a an oversight.
  8. Same here, looks like a bug. Fortunately, you don't really need the AWACS.
  9. I did not have this problem. I let IL-76 land first. Make sure that you don't stick too close when it tries to land. Maybe just try again?
  10. So which is THE favorite? I just finished the campaign. Absolutely excellent! I can only imagine the amount of work that must have gone into it. As a relative newbie I appreciated how I didn't get shot down ALL the time (only most of the time :)). Though in the Odessa mission a Mig-29 got me quite by surprise during RTB. I didn't think I was in Russian waters but maybe he didn't care... Luckily I already sunk the yacht, so the campaign advanced. Thank you again for your contribution.
  11. No, I think that what the OP meant was that there is no way to taxi at safe speed at a constant throttle setting (which is certainly possible in a car :)). But AFAIK, this is realistic and has to do with how the nozzles operate in the 70-80% throttle range (it was explained somewhere here, can't find it now). You have to keep adjusting the throttle all the time (basically short bursts of power). Don't wait until you reach your target speed before pulling back on the throttle. The problem is that the tires blow up when you hold the brake for a few seconds even at something like 30km/h. This does not seem realistic. But, you get used to it. Basically, on the ground, both throttle and brakes are best applied only in short bursts (< 2 seconds).
  12. You don't need to get that close. You can see the bunkers on TGP from beyond AAA range (once the SAM is out), but you have too look from the right direction :)
  13. The coordinates from JTAC are not accurate enough for JDAM, only to find the target. After the SAM is gone you can fly just below the clouds through the valley and mark the target(s) from a few miles distance. Then either use JDAM from above or Maverick from below the clouds.
  14. Yes, there is JTAC but only after you destroy the Strela. JTAC will give you coordinates for the bunkers.
  15. That was quite a bit better than my usual attempts! One suggestion: you would have gotten the last B-52 faster if you were flying an intercept course (even approximate) instead of what looked mostly like pure pursuit.
  16. Yeah, autopilot is pretty buggy. Maybe it's accurate and realistic, I don't know. So, these are either sim bugs or real aircraft bugs but bugs nonetheless :). However, the autopilot can be made to work. The key is two things: go fast enough (say > 800km/h) and trim the aircraft before engaging autopilot. The latter applies to pitch mostly, I rarely have to trim anything else (unless carrying unbalanced payload). Even so, route following causes oscillations at every turn, but they eventually stabilize.
  17. If you guys haven't tried it, the free "Battle Krasnodar" campaign (downloadable from the user files section) is also excellent. Make sure to leave feedback for the author in the Missions forum.
  18. What is the cut-off date (even approximately)? Thanks
  19. But this is how it works in the real world too! Light from different sources is added together. If you point a flashlight at the ground, you will see a brighter spot even in the full sunlight. (you could maybe argue that the lit area is too bright but it should be brighter than the surroundings)
  20. What do the mean by: I thought this was the other way around: TV/IR guided missiles are fire-and-forget but laser guided missiles are not?!
  21. Also, bring up the controls debug display (RCtrl-Enter) to see what's going on.
  22. Check if you have multiple axes (possibly from different devices?) assigned to pitch. If so, they can fight with each other and cause weird behaviour.
  23. I believe rank is based mostly on hours. I think you get to be colonel at about 240 hours :)
  24. Yes, I am interested in trying what you have! New campaigns are always welcome. I don't mind either Su-27 or F-15C.
