  1. The IFF enemy symbol is given to any radar contact who doesn't transmit the 'friendly' IFF code. I don't think missile have any IFF transponders on board. So that should be an explanation for it. In theory it is possible a missile shows up, even on the MiG-21 radar. But what's the point of that? You should allready be aware that you are being locked up, or even, be shot at.
  2. I don't think the landing-gear is weak. It just takes more practice and precision to land the plane without any damage. I watched the video above and I think the airplane is not meant to crash into the runway that hard on the second and third landing. Defenitly needed an inspection after that. Wear and tear is simulated on at least the MiG-21. But if you hit 'refly', you get a new 100% structural safe airplane. So in DCS, this doesn't really matter.
  3. I was messing around with the triggers a while ago and I noticed you need to be at altitude "0" for the trigger to work and to deliver the documents. And you can see the tiny height difference at the Tschinkvali FARP. It can be interpreted as a lazy soldier who does not want to walk to another heli-pad on the farp. :) Funny enough, it doesn't really seem to matter in mission 5 or 6, where you have to pick-up the commandar and fly him around the battle-field during the clean-up operation near the Mi-28 crash-site. There used to be another broken trigger there. It is supposed to be fixed in 1.5.
  4. Those are the most important features I guess. You can also add "brakes" to a pinky switch as in real-life Mi-8, this is on the lever of the control column as well. And "Fire weapons" maybe as well. Other then that, you can add a few commands yourself, such as "headlight up-down-left-right" or whatever you think is handy.
  5. Can you fly the mission again and provide us with a track and/or a few screenshots? It might just be that the flare is not dropped in the correct place or so.
  6. I just flew the mission in 1.5 stable version. I did not have any problems. As far as I know these are the objectives: On the first stop, be sure to land on the Southern part of the FARP. It is a tiny fraction lower then the northern part. It might just "trigger" the trigger. I think I had the same issue a while ago. :music_whistling: And to be clear, the farmhouse landing. The farmhouse is near a checkpoint (wich is further up the hill, not visible in the screenshot) and south of the close-by FARP/helipad called "Leningori". Not too close to the river. Or you will be forced to restart the mission: The smoke is from flares I decided to eject. :) Funny how the Mi-8 lets you fire all your weapons when you are on the ground. :) Please post the mission result if you are done :)
  7. I just flew the mission. The Farmhouse drop-off is cargo. It is the next waypoint. It is south of the Heli-pad. The documents needs to be delivered at the Helipad of Tschinkvali. The first drop-off.
  8. Ow that one? Yes. You must land beside the farmstead along the bank of the river. Not on any helipad. Also, take care not to land too close to the river because the Mi-8 is considered too heavy and it will sink in the mud. Due to the current state of terrain modelling in DCS, this can result in a crashed Mi-8 I think that's the case anyways. Will fly the mission myself shortly just to confirm.
  9. Landing on a different helipad might help. Sometimes the altitude of the different helipads is not the same. One is slightly above another. You can observe this in the F2 view for example. Try landing on the lowest helipad. I had this hapening once or twice myself. Don't give up on the campaign, it is fun. You slowly learn to use the Mi-8. Each next mission is a bit harder then the one before. I did the campaign a few times. I now do the "Bay of hogs" campaign. It is very fun. But I wouldn't recommend this for newbe Mi-8 pilots.
  10. According to the link above, it should be fixed. Will test it out tonight. :)
  11. It depends on where your definition of 'easy' and cheap is. I allready had the BU8036X from an Il-2_1946 project lying around and the switch itself is a few euros. Making panels and wiring switches is like a second nature to me. Programming a dozen or so profiles for the same keypress sounds complicated to me. And I don't like to be forced to start-up two or three different programs before I enter DCS-World. I like to show a different solution. The same problem can be solved without the need for complicated programming. That is complicated to me. I got a few Rotary encoders, just in case Leatherneck decides to change the key assignments. :smartass:
  12. I can confirm that. Oh well, lots of other modules where my cougar mod IS working. :D
  13. The solution is really quite simple.
  14. Mind you... you should have the throttle all the way back, past the detent in a cold-start mode, otherwise the detent stuff doesn't work and you end up pulling the throttle behind the detent several times for the thing to move, or clicking it with the mouse. The throttle lock system seems to consist of a throttle lock and a seperate detent. I don't know if this is a bug or a feature. But as long as you have your Warthog throttle all the way past the detent when the mission starts and the MiG-21 is in a 'cold' state, you should be fine.
  15. What airplane do you want to start? The A10C should be automatically configured for the HOTAS WARTHOG.
  16. I am sorry, but what is the difference between a 'normal' joystick like the TM warthog or the Saitek X55 and a 'small' joystick?
  17. Yes you can... But it requires a little editing in the some LUA files. Asigning it right away doesn't really work that well. You should add the line of code below to the DCS WOrld\Mods\aircraft\MiG-21BIS\INput\MiG-21BIS\joystick.lua file. {down=device_commands.RUDStop_lock,up=device_commands.RUDStop_lock,cockpit_device_id=devices.ENGINE_START_DEVICE,value_down=1.0,value_up=0.0,name='Alternate Throttle Start/Stop Position Toggle',category='Engine'}, Or better, make a copy of the joystick.lua file, rename it "Throttle - HOTAS Warthog.lua" and add in the code below: So it doesn't get overwritten everytime they decide to update the module. This makes the detent of the right throttle handle works as the throttle stop/start in the MiG-21. {combos={{key="JOY_BTN29"}},down=device_commands.RUDStop_lock,up=device_commands.RUDStop_lock,cockpit_device_id=devices.ENGINE_START_DEVICE,value_down=1.0,value_up=0.0,name='Alternate Throttle Start/Stop Position Toggle',category='Engine'}, It works on 1.5 and I see no reason why it shouldn't work on 2.0. Just haven't gotten around to test it yet.
  18. 18+? Where are the naked chics? Otherwise, nice vid.
  19. MiG-21 skins should be in the dcs\coremods\whatever folder. The trick might be in the description.lua. But skins for 1.2 and older might not be compatible with 1.5 and up since they changed the 3D model. And it probably will change some more. That is also why there are not a lot of MiG-21 skins made.
  20. Will there be any room in the cockpit of the C101-CC for my spanish beauty? :joystick: :smilewink:
  21. The M5 is an awesome stick! Too bad they are sold out all the time. I broke mine by opening it up all the time. The PC does not recognize it anymore when I connect it. Too bad. It is an awesome stick. You can get them at the website below. Not too expensive, but no stock anymore... https://flightsimcontrols.com/
  22. A screenie would be nice. I can't really visualize what this bug is about!
  23. Please remind me again. What is this mission about?
  24. Maybe in a next update, Belsimtek can add-in a mission with sling-loading in the single missions, or possible even the campaign? It is a good 'showcase'!
