For people who didn't know it allready... Rudel was born a 'troll'. Unfortunatly, he is also the MiG-21's paint artist. A layered PSD template? Who knows when it'll arrive! D@mn fine paintwork so far Mr. Rudel!

The L-39 is a bit more realistic really. It has english (and Czech) cockpit available. But really, they are completly different aircraft. Asking this question in the L-39 forum, pun intended? :)

Saitek pedals are good as well. Unless you want to mess with multiple monitors, Helios or DCS-Bios, you can't really get instruments on monitors like you have in M$FS. But try adjusting to the headtracker first. It makes this sim soooo much more enjoyable. Wich one did you order? If you can spare the cash and have the powerful PC for it, you can also get the Oculus Rift.

3D Extreme Pro Users - Rudder Twist issue!
1.JaVA_Platypus replied to JazonXD's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
You can attempt to clean the potmeter, or even replace it with a similar one. But that requires some mechanical skill and some tools. You should try to calibrate it again in windows first. Windows does filter out some spiking. If this does not help, try opening up the thing and clean out the pot and raise adjust the metal contacts of it like this guy did: http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/85431-Successful-repair-of-Logitech-Extreme-3D-PRO-Forums -
Problem lubricating X52 pro...

Also, maybe you can use zip-ties to compress the spring so it doesn't push down with so much force. -
Problem lubricating X52 pro...
1.JaVA_Platypus replied to Ala12Rv-watermanpc's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
It seems that this kind of grease is most suited for metal surfaces. However, the X52 has plastic parts. It can damage the plastic parts. I would recommend using a different grease, one that is safe for plastic like 'Teflon'. I had a quick look but I think the grease you used is for machines, enginens and tools. I do not recommend it on plastic parts. -
DCS Toggle Swiches Project at Github
1.JaVA_Platypus replied to f4l0's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Maybe not really toggle switch related, but these might be helpful to people as well. These lines make the PKV gunsight brigthness and 'elevation' assignable as an axis in game for the Mi-8 {action = 3001, cockpit_device_id = 47, name = "PKV Intensity"}, {action = 3003, cockpit_device_id = 47, name = "PKV Elevation"}, And this does the same thing for the pilot's gunsight in the UH-1 {action = 3001, cockpit_device_id = 49, name = "Pilot Sighting Station Intensity"}, {action = 3003, cockpit_device_id = 49, name = "Sight Elevation"}, -

Got some for the MiG-21. This one lets you enable the Throttle idle/stop for the Warthog Throttle. It is not flawless by the way. --Throttle start/stop (you might want to wiggle the throttle through the "stop" one or three times) {down=device_commands.RUDStop_lock, up=device_commands.RUDStop_lock, cockpit_device_id=devices.ENGINE_START_DEVICE, value_down=1.0, value_up=0.0, name='Alt Throttle Lock Toggle', category='Engine'}, Got some ASP commands as well. --Alternate ASP mode {down=device_commands.ASPpipperOn, up=device_commands.ASPpipperOn, cockpit_device_id=devices.ASP, value_down=1.0,value_up=0.0, name='Pipper Toggle switch', category='Weapons / ASP'}, {down=device_commands.ASPnetOn, up=device_commands.ASPnetOn, cockpit_device_id=devices.ASP, value_down=1.0,value_up=0.0, name='Fix net Toggle switch', category='Weapons / ASP'}, {down=device_commands.ASPmissileGunSelect, up=device_commands.ASPmissileGunSelect, cockpit_device_id=devices.ASP, value_down=1.0,value_up=0.0, name='Gun-missile Toggle', category='Weapons / ASP'}, --Alternate ASP Mode - Giro {down=device_commands.ASPssGiroSelect, up=device_commands.ASPssGiroSelect, cockpit_device_id=devices.ASP, value_down=1.0, value_up=0.0, name='Alternate ASP Mode - Giro', category='Weapons / ASP'}, --Alternate ASP Mode - Bombardment {down=device_commands.ASPbombStrelbSelect, up=device_commands.ASPbombStrelbSelect, cockpit_device_id=devices.ASP, value_down=1.0, value_up=0.0, name='Alternate ASP Mode - Bombardment', category='Weapons / ASP'}, --Alternate ASP Main Mode {down=device_commands.ASPmanAutoSelect, up=device_commands.ASPmanAutoSelect, cockpit_device_id=devices.ASP, value_down=1.0, value_up=0.0, name='Alternate ASP Main Mode', category='Weapons / ASP'}, And of course as of recent, this might be interesting as well, the aileron booster! :D --Alternate aileron booster {down=device_commands.AileronBoosters, up=down=device_commands.AileronBoosters, cockpit_device_id=devices.MAIN_HYDRO,value_down=1.0, value_up=0.0, name='Alternate Aileron Boosters On/Off',category='Flight Controls'}, -
Settings for Warthog Hotas

add 15 curvature to both your X and Y axis. Movements near the centre of the stick will be much smoother. Do some experiments. It is only a game after all. :) -
There's plenty!

Obviously this one can't be left out!

Eagerly anticipating!

Does the cockpit-frames stretch if you zoom in? I think it is because the extreme wide-view the cockpit frames look stretched.

There are smoke-bombs available for the L-39.

"SPECIAL" Options for Mi-8 ...
1.JaVA_Platypus replied to sleepycanuck's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Well. I suppose the Mi-8 cockpit is rather cramped as it is and the Flight Engineer is not having any fun at all, having the worst seat of the lot... (and nothing much to do except to fiddle with the autopilot, for the good or the bad...) But even without the AI interfering, the Mi-8 is very stable. I like it a lot. -
Warthog - rudder

According to this pic. There is a rudder axis on the X55 Joystick. :) -
None of that early-acces\alpha\bete cr@p. Even tough there are a few minor issues, it feels like a finished product.

LAN linked machines and multicrew, possible?
1.JaVA_Platypus replied to WildBillKelsoe's topic in DCS: L-39 Albatros
You'll need an internet connection to get into the lobby first. After that, you can connect by IP. 19.168.2.whatever. -
I think you should try the old 1.2 commands. Get rid of the (combos = key blablabla) and assign your own keycommand to it in DCS. A good chance they are still working. I uploaded the default.lua from the MiG-21 in DCS 1.2. p.s. To any leatherneck people watching, it is not to criticize or anything, I am simply helping to make the MiG-21 module as much a joy to everybody as it is to me. default.lua
-
I've reverted the Beta install to 1.2.something. It does come with the old default.lua for the keybinds. It says this about the Canopy: -- Canopy {combos={{key='C',reformers={'RCtrl'}}},down=device_commands.CanopyClose,up=device_commands.CanopyClose,cockpit_device_id=devices.CANOPY,value_down=1.0,value_up=0.0,name='Canopy Close',category='Life support'}, {combos={{key='C',reformers={'RCtrl','RAlt'}}},down=device_commands.CanopyOpen,up=device_commands.CanopyOpen,cockpit_device_id=devices.CANOPY,value_down=1.0,value_up=0.0,name='Canopy Open',category='Life support'}, The 1.5 canopy binding looks like this: -- Canopy {combos={{key='C',reformers={'RCtrl'}}},down=device_commands.CanopyClose,up=device_commands.CanopyClose,cockpit_device_id=devices.CANOPY,value_down=1.0,value_up=0.0,name='Canopy Close/Open',category='Life support'}, So it appeared they deleted the Canopy-close command and made the Canopy-open command a toggle? If it is hard-coded as a toggle, you can't really do much about it. But maybe you can add the canopy-close command and maybe it still works? These are the 1.2 bindings for the nav-lights. They probably did something similar to those as well. The switch has multiple positions. -- Nav Lights {combos={{key='L',reformers={'LShift'}}}, down=device_commands.NavLights,cockpit_device_id=devices.LIGHTS,value_down=0.99,name='Nav Lights Max',category='Lights'}, {combos={{key='L',reformers={'LShift','LAlt'}}}, down=device_commands.NavLights,cockpit_device_id=devices.LIGHTS,value_down=0.66,name='Nav Lights Med',category='Lights'}, {combos={{key='L',reformers={'LShift','LWin'}}}, down=device_commands.NavLights,cockpit_device_id=devices.LIGHTS,value_down=0.33,name='Nav Lights Min',category='Lights'}, {combos={{key='L',reformers={'LShift','LCtrl'}}}, down=device_commands.NavLights,cockpit_device_id=devices.LIGHTS,value_down=0.0,name='Nav Lights Off',category='Lights'}, Note, the above codes are straight from the default.lua files from Leatherneck. I did not modify anything on them.

I haven't looked into the nav-lights or canopy open/close controls. I think the nav-lights switches need some looking into. The canopy open/close is rather simple I think. But wouldn't that be easier by just clicking it?
